About this house rental
Situated in Sugar Mountain, this lovely house for $549 per night is a great option for your next trip. Conveniently located in the Village of Sugar Mountain, Elk Horn Lodge is your home away from home when you visit the mountains! Walking in, you'll be welcomed by a view of the mountains and ski slopes through the living room's cathedral window wall. With an amazing view and a gas log fireplace, this could easily become your favorite room in the house. Cozy up with a good book, watch a show on the flat screen over the mantle, or enjoy the company of the other guests in the abundant seating while gathered around the fire. Open concept at its best, the living room flows right into the kitchen and dining areas. With seating for twelve, the dining and high top tables offer flexibility while accommodating even the largest of groups. Or enjoy the sunset on the deck while you cook dinner on the gas or charcoal grill and dine al fresco at the large outdoor dining table. The rest of the upstairs has three board-and batten style bedrooms and two full baths (one en suite to the master with a custom, walk-in shower). Heading to the lower level, you'll find an additional two bedrooms and two full baths. There's also a second kitchen, ski gear storage area, theater room with a 65” flat screen (bring your game system!), and dedicated billiards room with an 8-foot Olhausen table. Imagine shooting pool here with a fire crackling in the lower level fireplace, a football game on the room's wall mounted TV, and a view of Gunther's Way ski slope through the double sliding doors! And getting here is a breeze. Once you reach the entrance to Sugar Mountain Resort, there are paved roads all the way to the driveway, which leads to multiple parking areas around the house. Since the driveway is gravel, bringing an AWD or 4WD vehicle in the snowy months is recommended. The house has level entry access to the main level. With so many comforts it would be easy to spend all your time at Elk Horn Lodge! But if you decide to leave the house, the area offers many amazing restaurants, shops and attractions. Within Sugar Mountain, enjoy golf, tennis, hiking and downhill mountain biking (on the slopes!) during the warmer months and skiing, snow boarding, tubing and ice skating in the winter. From the entrance to Sugar Mountain, you're just one minute to the new Alpine coaster, 5 minutes to downtown Banner Elk or 15 minutes to the entrances of Grandfather Mountain or the Blue Ridge Parkway. Blowing Rock, Boone and Linville are just a few minutes further. This home was very updated, clean, spacious and well equipped. Worked perfect for our ski vacation. Just a few short minutes from Sugar Ski. It is not ski out but it wasn’t that much of an inconvenience. Would highly recommend!

We will definitely stay here again. Lots of room with a great view. It would have bee 5’s all the if not for a brief snafu in the check in process. We arrived a couple of hours before check in and waited until 4pm since we were told that it wouldn’t be ready early. (No problem at all). At 4pm, the entry code would not work. We waited a few minutes and tried the code again. It still didn’t work. We called the rental company. After a few minutes on the phone, they reprogrammed the entry pad with a new code and we got in.
Otherwise, I recommend this house to anyone.

This house is awesome. Its location for skiing is very convenient. Very clean, & well maintained. All appliances looked new & worked great including the gas grill on the deck. Kitchen better stocked than my private home. Also large enough that we had plenty of room for our family to not feel cramped. Blue Ridge Rentals were the best company we have dealt with this far. Very attentive to every detail of the check in & checkout process. They definitely have 5 stars from this family. We will be back⛷️⛷️

We enjoyed the property. It was clean and pretty much as advertised.
Upon check-in the door code did not work so had to reach out to Blue Ridge which was not easy since everything went to voicemail.
Lower fireplace did not work. We were told someone would try to call or come out but never heard back.
The house itself was fine and quiet. We did enjoy playing pool but would have been warmer with fireplace.

Plenary of room for everyone to spread out, Even if someone wanted to have their own space! The downstairs was the perfect hangout for the kids; pool table, TV room, and it’s own kitchenette! Fantastic!

Loved the home and location. Called and reported the dishwasher and coffee maker was broken. Was told someone would be out to repair that afternoon. No one ever showed up.

We took 4 generations on a Fall getaway to the mountains (9 of us). The Elhorn Lodge was a perfect fit for us and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. Chilly weather and fall colors. The home was warm and cozy and provided instructions for everything which made things easy. We played games, pool, hung out on the back deck for lunch and sat by the fire table sipping wine at sunset. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone!

Our group of 5 adults and two kids (2 & 3) had a great time at Elk Horn Lodge. Everything was perfect upon arrival and we didn’t have any issues with the property during our stay. The whole family loved the large back deck and open family room. The only thing I would do differently for our next visit is to bring our own pillows - the ones at the cabin were a bit thin for our group. We will definitely be back again!

This is a fantastic house with lots of space in a great location. We were pleasantly surprised that the views were so amazing, and the location was very convenient for skiing Sugar Mountain. The homeowners have gone out of their way to provide instructions to the TVs and fireplaces. They also left a binder with many restaurant and attraction recommendations. This was so helpful! We loved our vacation experience.

This property was a bit challenging as it had snowed the day we arrived. The driveway had not been plowed, so we parked on the street. We called the property management and were told that someone would come and plow the driveway, but no one ever did. The next door neighbor was not happy about the car parked in front of his house. Besides this, the house was lovely, the view beautiful and the proximity to Sugar Mountain was very convenient. We only had one 4 wheel drive vehicle with us, so that was on us. However, it wasn't quite as easy to get in touch with the property manager as I had hoped at times. We would still consider staying at this house in the future. It was spacious and very comfortable. The "man cave" downstairs was great-- pool table and movie room made a nice space for the kids when the adults wanted more peace and quiet upstairs. Some things that were not on hand were: a sponge or dish rag for hand washing dishes or wiping up counters, foil or plastic wrap for wrapping up leftovers, coffee and coffee filters (some Keurig pods were available for the Keurig machine though), hand lotion (though there were little packets of soap, shampoo and conditioner). There were plenty of towels, sheets, blankets and dishwasher soap and laundry pods for our stay of three days. Everything seemed to work well and the space was clean and well-maintained.

the weather was wonderful. The house is perfect for our family. This is my sister and I Christmas shopping. We had our children and grandchildren there. Thank you so much for our wonderful experience. Small side note. The microwave did not work. Everything else was exceptional
