About this house rental
Situated in Little River, this attractive house for $487 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Gaze over the crystal blue ocean of the Mendocino coastline accented by sparkling "diamonds on the water," right from the porch of our fully remodeled, historic, two-story, Victorian-style home. With all modern amenities, this historic home was one of the original homes during the booming logging era in Mendocino County. Located in quaint Little River, CA., this 2 bedroom, 2 bath home mixes Victorian nostalgia with all-modern amenities. Maximum capacity is 4 persons. Not suitable for children under 12 years or infants. No events or gatherings that would exceed the 4 person maximum, please, and no pets. For your security and the security of our home, we have 2 exterior security cams at both entry points covering property. We are surrounded by Van Damme State Park on 3 sides. We have total access to beach trails including a short path that leads to a secluded cove on Van Damme Bay, the Spring Ranch trail so you can take a quick walk to see the white-water of the surf crashing against the rocks, and other amazing hiking trails. You might even spot a pod of whales. If you have ever wished for an enchanted getaway, this is it. Shop and dine in charming Mendocino, Albion, Fort Bragg, or right here in Little River. Golf, explore and enjoy. You have found a hidden gem. We look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones to our home. You can accept the rental contract online, however, we require your signature on all of our rental packet documents that will be sent via email from our property management firm. This property requires guests to use stairs to the the bedrooms upstairs. Thank you.

This is a great house. Clean and well appointed. Comfortable bed. The views are terrific and walking paths out to the bluffs or the beach from the front door. Bring your slippers. The floors can be chilly.

Bonnie was an awesome host! Some paperwork to review, but as respectful guests, we appreciate her attention to detail. Bonnie also gave us a last minute update on a potential issue that was resolved and gave us a late check out in return. So kind! Ideal location. Basically 5 or so minutes to Mendo Village, Little River Inn, The Ledford House and Catch-A -Canoe and anything you need. The 100 + year house is restored to perfection. Kitchen and front porch are ideal. Top floor bedroom, bathroom and bedroom deck have epic views of Van Damme beach with trail to beach across the road. Only downers are the private gated community fence next door that can be loud with in and out traffic and folks parking randomly trying to find the beach trail. Otherwise, a beautiful home that is centrally located minutes from Mendo Village without the cluster eff. Thank you, Bonnie!

Bonnie is a very responsive and unobtrusive host/owner. The house is well equipped specifically for a B&B, comfortable, and uncluttered. The location is ideal for a wonderful view, walking access to the beach, and a spectacular coastal walk on the Spring Ranch Trail.

We had a great time in Little River. It is close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We went to Point Arena lighthouse,Point Cabrillo lighthouse, Glass beach, Pudding Creek Trestle, Bodega, Goat Rock beach, the Sea Ranch Chapel, and Stinson Beach. We enjoyed the wonderful views from the gorgeous house. We saw a doe and her fawn right on the property. We also saw two little gray fox near the driveway. Thanks for sharing your home Bonnie!

This property is situated on a quiet street with views of the from the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. The house was well furnished and the kitchen fully equipped. The host had given us very detailed instructions and also information on the area and things to do. Mendocino was a short drive from the property and is a very lovely, quaint town. The drive to Anderson Valley was breathtaking, if not a little unnerving navigating the many curves. But well worth the trip. Many trails to hike through redwoods or to the coastline.

We couldn’t have chosen a better location for our six night stay. Loved the views from the front windows and main bedroom. Very very clean and all the furniture was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds are so comfortable. Bathroom was wonderful – very spacious and plenty of space for all of our stuff. Washer and dryer are great to have in the house. Nice to be able to take a quick walk down to the beach and view the different tide levels. Very short drive into Mendocino, and to many of the local parks. Very quiet location. Fantastic stay. Thank you Bonnie! We would recommend this house to anyone we know coming to this area

Excellent location and a special house. One of the cleanest rentals I’ve experienced yet. Ocean views from multiple rooms and a quick walk to the beach. Easy drive into Ft Bragg for supplies and such.

Bonnie is an exceptionally responsive host, reaching out to make sure all was well with our check-in and stay. The house location is convenient to visiting the Mendocino area, in a quiet lane off of Hwy 1. Exceptionally well-stocked and very clean. Perfect for a small family with older children. The two bedrooms are upstairs with comfortable bedding. The listing is accurate: the bedrooms are up some steep stairs and are not accessible for mobility-impaired.
A note to know: This house has a very quick and efficient heating system, and also relies on a pump/instant hot water system. If the power goes out, there is very quickly no hot water and soon thereafter no water at all. We were there during a stormy span of days in March, and we lost power twice. Not something our exceptionally responsive host could have done anything about, and we still enjoyed our stay at this house thoroughly. Just something to know if you are there in unsettled weather when PG&E service may fluctuate. The house has a big battery powered lantern for just such events, so easy to work-around the situation.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The communication with Bonnie was timely and helpful. The kitchen was stocked with great cookware. The beds were comfortable. There was room for my son to take his meetings in the small game room where he wouldn't be disturbed. The view was unbelievable. We loved that she trusted her guests with a good set of binoculars. The beach down the path was a fun place at low tide. It was a terrific stay and we would highly recommend it.

My family really enjoyed our stay and the house. Great location and close to hiking. Bonnie the property manager was great on keeping us updated on the process for our stay and even left us a welcome note and truffles.

The house is lovely and well maintained. Check in process was smooth and everything was well organized. You can't beat the view from the large picture windows in the kitchen, out to the ocean. So cool to have a beach so near, just down a little path in the hill. Van Damme State Park and Russian Gulch State park are gorgeous - both the forest sides and the ocean side trails. If you love the outdoors, and peace and quiet, you can't beat this rental. Also, just a hop from Fort Bragg for shops, restaurants and historic sites. Glass beach was awesome.

My husband spent our anniversary here. We had a wonderful time. The view of the ocean from the porches is beautiful. You can hear the waves. There’s a little 5 minute path down to the cove below. We had the beach all to ourselves. The bed was comfortable. The master bathroom is gorgeous. The kitchen perfect to cook in. Close to everything to do exploring and shopping. It rained a few days and we had a great time relaxing at the house. Would definitely stay here again.

This house made for a perfect vacation. It had every modern feature one could ask for while still maintaining the charm of an old Victorian home.
The hike that leads out to the headlands 2 minutes from your home behind the inn was one of my very favorite EVER. The views were stunning.

Bonnie was a fantastic host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, fully stocked with all the essentials, and the beds/pillows were comfortable. The view was incredible and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and had such a great time in and around Mendo that we didn't want to leave!

My daughter and I enjoyed everything about this spacious, well-appointed home on the Mendocino coast. It was spotlessly clean and had lovely décor, stunning artwork, and comfortable beds. My only regret is that we didn't stay there longer. The location was perfect.

This property was absolutely one of the best vrbo experiences. Super clean. Great location. Had all the basic supplies needed. I wish we could have stayed longer. I loved sitting out on the deck reading, drinking coffee, eating breakfast smelling the coastal air and viewing the ocean. We will be back!

The other upstairs bedroom fit the bed just perfectly.
Super comfortable beds.

We were so happy choosing this home for a visit from my sister that lives in Iowa. She wanted to be able to see the ocean from the bedroom and this did not disappoint. We grew up with our parent that was a historian and this was right up our alley. Close to Mendocino and close to the beach. I can’t wait to come back. Two nights was not a long enough stay.

Wonderful Little River Experience
Bonnie was easy to work with. She sent all information in a timely manner and answered all questions quickly . Our house was lovely and very clean. The master bath was amazing. We loved drinking coffee looking out over the bay from the kitchen. The short walk to the beach is worth the trip . Sitting on driftwood looking at the water with a glass of wine in hand was the perfect end to the day.

Cute little house within walking distance of Van Damme State Park. House is also very close to the town of Mendocino.
House is well equipped. I brought my personal Google Chromecast and I was able to stream cable without any issues. I also brought my Sonos Move and streamed music over WiFi.
Communication with property manager was excellent.
