6 Bedrooms and 3 docks on a Lake Hartwell cove, 3 miles from Clemson by water.
About this house rental
Nestled in Lake Keowee, this attractive house for $534 per night is a great option for your next break. We fell in love with this house because it is very secluded, yet close to everything. Roughly 3 miles by boat from Clemson and Death Valley (about six miles by car), and a similar distance to all the big stores in Seneca, directly on a quiet small cove on Lake Hartwell. Serene and peaceful, it boasts over an acre and a half of pristine woodland and is directly across the Keowee River from the Clemson Experimental forest where there will never be houses. There are three docks on property, the largest one with the roof was installed new in July of 2021 and two newer "rollaways" to chase changing water levels. Most of the year, the sun rises directly over the lake and the views from the second story deck, master bedroom, and downstairs bedroom are absolutely spectacular on clear mornings. The main house was renovated in late 2020 / early 2021 with the removal of popcorn ceilings and old wallpaper, brand new kitchen appliances, huge new TVs (including an 82" 4K in the great room/dining room), front load washer/dryer, new mattresses and linens, dual hood grill, ceiling fans, bathroom fixtures, paint, etc - before putting it on the market for rentals. For most renters, the highlight is the great/dining room with a massive 13' long bespoke oak table and huge windows overlooking the water. The attached screened in gazebo (directly off the breakfast nook, with benches and a large table) is ideal for quiet work, reading, or just sipping wine and listening to the sounds of the woods and the lake at night. Multiple decks with rocking chairs and tables, as well as the fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs make for a great place to relax and catch up with friends and family. In May of 2021, the upstairs and downstairs of the three level detached garage was professionally renovated to allow for two more bedrooms, a full bathroom, second laundry area, and a kitchenette. Downstairs (below) is a billiards/ entertainment room with 8' oversized Olhausen pool table, huge leather sectional couch, and a massive 85" 4K Samsung TV. In total, the bedrooms are as follows: 1 King Master Bedroom with Bath (upstairs, main house) 1 Queen Bedroom (upstairs, main house) 1 Bedroom with 2 twin beds and 2 trundle pull out twin beds (upstairs, main house) 1 Bedroom with both a King and Queen Bed (downstairs, main house) 1 King Bedroom (new area above garage) 1 Queen Bedroom (new area above garage) In addition, there is a queen murphy bed in the gameroom (main house) and the foldout sectional in the billiard hall (below garage). In addition to the three docks on the property, this rental comes with two sit-in kayaks (rated up to 275 lbs), two Stand-Up Paddleboards (adult), several inflatables, and some basic fishing gear for lake exploration (at your own risk, of course). Stand up paddleboards in the quiet of dawn is a nearly religious experience. If you bring your own boat, there is a landing less than 1/2 mile away (at Lawrence Bridge), but you can leave it tied to any the docks. One negative worth mentioning to everyone is that the property is on an incline to the water, so there are a lot of stairs and the driveway is very steep. If you are unable to negotiate a staircase without a railing, this might not be the best property for you. On one icy occasion (freezing rain), it was completely impassable even with all wheel drive. This is obviously extremely rare for the area, but it is worth mentioning. Please take caution, particularly with the eldery or those who can't traverse stairs.

Sweet family gathering at the lake after Christmas with lots to do. The children enjoyed games , kayaking, pool and eating together. There was plenty of room for our large group.

There were 9 of us here for Clemson graduation. This was perfect for us—beds slept comfortably, and we could all share meals at the beautiful table. The amenities were terrific—wish we’d had more time to enjoy!

We had a big family group in for a Clemson football game and this was perfect! Lots of space for everyone to be together or get away for some quiet time for the children. We would definitely stay here again!

We had 16 adults and 1 infant. Plenty of beds and room for everyone to sleep and stretch out across the multiple gathering places in the house. We never felt cramped. The long dining table was perfect after the game - we gathered, ate and watched football on the large tv. Steve was great and very responsive.

Awesome stay. We had a Clemson reunion and went to the game. Swam every morning off the dock and floated on all the "toys" which are supplied with the house. The host was incredible and responsive. Many bedrooms so everyone had their own bedroom. Highly recommend.

This was our third time staying here and we love coming back every year. This is a great house for our family get together.

We loved our week at the Woodbury lake house. The hosts went the extra mile to make the stay comfortable; they had multiple deliveries of essentials like soap, paper towels, detergent, dishwasher pods throughout the week for us to use. The gear to use on the lake was a great perk. There are all sizes of life jackets and tons of floats for all ages. The property came stocked inside and out with games, books, toys and the owners clearly took time to make it feel homey. The lake is beautiful and overall the property is very quiet and peaceful. We are already looking into booking for next year.

We enjoyed our stay. We will be back. The lake was great!

Our family had a great time on this property, the host was an excellent communicator who was available for every question and every step of the way. The main property is a bit tired, and in need of some R&R… The new finished space above the garage is very nice and was well done! We have rented many houses on Hartwell over the years, but this one stands out for all the fun flotation devices, Lilly pad and fishing poles provided for our use.

We had a fantastic stay at this home with a family reunion for Grandpa’s 70th! The accommodations were perfect for giving individual families privacy and providing plenty of space and not be cramped on each other. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The dock and lake toys were perfect for great days on the lake! The host was fantastic with great communication and suggestions! The screened porch was a favorite gathering location for everyone!

Steve was great right from the start. Very communicative, responsive, and accommodating. The house was fantastic for our group. We were in town for a celebration, so we had some family and friends join us for a portion of our stay and the house provided everyone their own space to sleep which was so nice. There were several fantastic areas both inside and outside the house where we could all hang out together and not feel crowded. The house is adequately stocked with all the essentials—towels, dishes, coffee makers— as well as some fun things like paddle boards and fishing poles! I would totally bring my family back!

A group of 4 adults and 9 teenagers stayed over spring break. We had a great time. Plenty of room to spread out and beds for everyone.
Positives - coffee on the porch, fishing, swimming, boating (we brought 2 fishing boats), swinging off the rope swing near the dam, board games, puzzles, basketball, kayaking, paddleboarding, longboarding on the hills, pool table, chess/checkers and a lacrosse game at Clemson. So many options for time together, we really never were bored at this house.
Always a bit of not so positive:
Internet was spotty. I had to work a couple days so would go down to Starbucks (not far from the house).
Also to note, the driveway is steep (as noted in the listing) that leads to the back hill is steep. The main dock has a great path to it. The other two smaller docks, since they move around, do not. The teenagers would fly down this hill with no problem but if you are more cautious (aka out of shape) like myself, it was slow and steady to get down to the other docks.
Definitely would stay again and would recommend to a large group.

What a beautiful home and Steve, the owner was fantastic to work with; super accommodating and very responsive.
We stayed with a group of moms and daughters during a Clemson sorority function . It was PERFECT! I can only imagine how great this would be for a home game weekend with a number of families, a large family retreat or reunion or just a great getaway on the lake.
The space is tremendous and can welcome so many people. The house is heated and so clean! Beds are very comfortable, kitchen user friendly and lots of bathrooms for all the guests.
Did I mention the extra living and party space in the garage?? Wow- really a cool space.
Without hesitation I give this rental 5+ stars and would plan to stay here again. Go Tigers!🧡💜

The large custom built table in the dining room was what sold us on booking this property! It was the perfect location and view for our planning sessions! Steve was quick to respond to my pre-trip inquiries. The garage annex allowed us to have plenty of room. Would definitely recommend to others. In fact, one gal with us already did!

We enjoyed our stay here in Oconee County. Lake Hartwell is quite a bit down from full pool, so a couple of the docks were not usable. We were still able to dock our Bass Tracker at the largest dock even though one side is on dirt now. Lots of big TVs for a great Saturday of football. Nice large screened porch for the balmy weather. Great man cave with pool table and huge TV! Little trip to Six Mile and Red, White, and Brew for great iced coffee. Pretty location.

We had a special milestone birthday celebration. There was enough space to spread out and also gather for meals. Love the screened porch and view of the changing autumn leaves. We kayaked and it was so peaceful. There are at least 10 TV’s so whatever sports games are on your mind — you’ll be able to watch. Family gathering was
great !

We do a family trip each year. This was our first year on Lake Hartwell and it didn’t disappoint. This home has lakes access, kayaks, life jackets of all sizes, amazing fire pit, and even a wooded area for exploring. We fished, boated, and hiked a lot. Some things need updated, but sounds like that’s coming soon. I would have given a 4.8, but that’s not available for overall. We had an amazing adventure and the owner recommended Clemon Marina which was awesome. Pulled the pontoon right up to one of the docks. Water was very low and we were still able to get into the one dock with no issue. The owner is very responsive, and there is plenty of room for everyone!
