The view alone was amazing but the property and owners made it so much beyond amazing. The amenities were endless, things I’d never think of needing, everything was available. The house was immaculately clean and comfy! There were so many little touches that made the stay delightful. My teens were never bored, even put their devices away for most of the trip. The loft was perfect for them! WiFi was questionable at one point for my son needing to take an online exam, but it worked perfectly on the 2nd floor. Thank you, Laura and Chris, for allowing us to stay in your place. Lots of love and memories shared this week!

We had a great time at this cabin! The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Clean and neat and well appointed. It’s close to food and grocery and there were plenty of recreation areas and parks close by to exercise our dog. Would absolutely recommend staying there!

We enjoyed the cabin. It was well stocked and clean. There is not a lake view from the cabin and a pretty long walk to the dock. We had a boat and made it work but the walk up the hill multiple times a day was hard. The cabin was very comfortable and worked well for our group.

Exceptional week. Property was great. House very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Butler has an interesting history and we thoroughly enjoyed the museum tour with Juanita. And the lagniappe(a little something extra) of deer meat from Cheryl was a real treat.

~This was the perfect "meet in the middle" cabin for us and our cousins from North Carolina. ~The owners were great and quick to respond to any questions we had. Check in/out was super easy, as well. The cabin was beautiful and, although you cannot see the lake from the cabin, it's nestled amongst the trees and has a spectacular view of the mountains, and you can experience beautiful sunsets. All of the doors have the ability to open just a screen door and let in the mountain breeze throughout the entire cabin. There's a fireplace with gas logs in the living room which makes it cozy feeling at night. ~The kitchen was well stocked and even had a really nice digital thermometer for the steaks we cooked on the outdoor gas grill one night. ~The master bedroom (with a king bed) and bathroom were amazing. The shower is large and has two shower heads in it. There are two bedrooms on the second floor with queen beds. They share a bathroom. ~On the third floor, it's all open (you can look over the railing down to the first floor) and huge. Perfect place for kids to hang out and play air hockey, take naps or play board games...all of which our "kids" (technically adults, but they're in college, so still kids to us :) did and enjoyed. I will say, like others have mentioned, it's all open so you can hear everything they are saying, as well as they can hear everything you say on the first floor, which was actually kinda cool because I didn't have to walk up all those steps every morning to wake them up, I just yell up to them to wake up. Lol! I will mention also that there isn't a bathroom on the third floor, so anyone that stays up there will have to use one of the bathrooms/showers on the first or second floor. ~The owners left a sweet little basket of items to make s'mores, and we did at the outdoor gas fireplace :) which is on the deck right outside the sliding door from the living room. ~A couple of mornings we took a walk around to the lake (absolutely breathtaking that time of morning!), and we saw the dock, but we didn't go down there, only because we weren't really there for the water...and it was chilly this time of year, but it's nice. ~Overall, it was a great place to get together with family we only see once a year. We hung out and chilled together, went to High Country UTV Tours near Roan Mountain (SO fun!), took a little hike at Roan Mountain, played games, and watched the UT/Alabama game...GO VOLS! :D ~Definitely recommend!

Our family had a good stay at this cabin. Other than trying to find it in the dark (to be fair, we are from the flatlands of Illinois, so it was a tad intimidating), getting there and checking in was very easy. The owners were very responsive to questions/messages, often getting back to us within minutes, which we appreciated! The cabin was clean and stocked, we cooked quite a bit while there, and there was plenty of pots/pans/appliances to make it like home. The owners had left us a sweet basket of s'more fixings to be used with the outdoor firepit, which was thoughtful. It is a family friendly cabin, with lots of board games, extra pillows/towels, etc. We dont have toddlers/babies, but I did notice there were lots of safety features for small kids, like gates on the deck, door alarms, and easy baby gates on the stairs if needed. The vaulted ceiling of the three-floor cabin was beautiful and what I was looking for in a mountain cabin. As previous reviews mentioned, it did make it a tad harder with the younger kids' bedtimes as far as noise or lights, but we brought a box fan as a sound machine and didnt really have major problems. The loft was a fun place for the kids to play, and it is quite large! The bathrooms were super clean, and the master shower is wonderful. Only major bummer is that one of the biggest reasons we chose this house over a few others that were closer to our day hikes was it has a private dock and paddleboat included in the price that we could take out at-will to explore the cove and lake. However the paddleboat wasn't there when we arrived (owners were notified, responded immediately, and did try to find it), and it really did really limit our interaction with the lake. Again, not likely in the control of the owners, but was disappointing to us as far as a big expected activity that got cut out of the vacation. All in all, a good experience. Nice location, and we were able to take a day trip to Grandfather Mountain and Elk River Falls, both worth the drive and time. Ate at Southern Craft Restaurant at the lake, and it was good BBQ. I would recommend this cabin, and thanks to the owners for their hospitality.
