About this house rental

The Pottery Cottage, Alpine, Southern Highlands - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Peak Season The Pottery Cottage started life as a pottery studio bu has been lovingly converted into a comfortable, characterful cottage. There are two bedrooms, each with ensuite and bedding for 5 guests. The design of the living area and bedrooms makes extensive use of beautiful timber cladding and a double height ceiling with exposed timber joists. During the colder months, the fireplace makes this a wonderful cozy place to be. Where will I be? Pottery Cottage is located within the Little Forest complex, a collection of 7 cottages spread across 40 acres of grounds. Your cottage will have its own private spaces, but please be aware that other guests may be around as well. Communal spaces include the lawns, gardens, driveway and trails, but you will have plenty of privacy as well. The Little Forest complex has a bush setting and is circled on one side by the Sydney - Melbourne railway line. As a result, trains are audible at times, and for any kids, part of the fun! Little Forest also has various trails throughout its 42 acres, but please keep children supervised at all times due to wildlife, unfenced dams and trains. Why choose The Pottery Cottage? The Pottery Cottage is a charming and comfortable base from which to explore the Southern Highlands. Set amongst beautiful gardens and removed from other cottages on the property, Pottery Cottage feels like a secluded and comfortable getaway. How is the property laid out? The Pottery Cottage is reached down a tree-lined country drive way. You approach the house through beautiful gardens and enter into a charming country kitchen and dining area. The front door opens into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The bedrooms are at each end of the cottage, and both bathrooms have a shower, bath and toilet. The living area is located centrally between the two bedrooms. Outside is a courtyard with barbeque and seating for six. Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV will I have it? This particular property does not offer Wi-Fi. If you bring an internet dongle with you, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise, it's best to use your smartphone only during your stay or find a local cafe that offers free Wi-Fi. The Holidays Collection is committed to getting all owners to provide Wi-Fi at their property, but this is still work in progress! What about outdoors? The Pottery Cottage is surrounded by lawns and gardens that are open for guests to use. The house is part of a larger 40 acre property which includes bush trails for guests to explore. Please be aware that there is an unfenced dam on the property so children must be supervised at all times. Keeping warm or keeping cool? Pottery Cottage has a slow combustion fireplace in the living area. All bedrooms have stand alone heaters. There are ceiling fans in the living room and all bedrooms. What about sheets, towels and other supplies? High quality sheets and towels are provided at Pottery Cottage. Toilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed. Regarding food, condiments and the like, please plan to bring everything you need. For safety and hygiene reasons, our houses generally do not supply food items. Parking for cars, boats etc? There are two open air parking spaces at the front of The Pottery Cottage. Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay? Pets are welcome at The Pottery Cottage! Please note the following: The yard is fully fenced. Please keep your pets off all furniture and beds. Please clean up behind your pet. Please inform us of your intention to bring a pet at the time of booking. It's a small & cosy fairly new house however designed in old style in the middle of a massive block of bush, far away from any neighbour houses so you have plenty of privacy. Log fire can heat up the house nicely to make us stay warm in chilly winter. The small lake, the llamas, kangaroos, rabbits and the ponies around the cottage are all lovely, 4 friends have enjoyed a great weekend out there to chill out and unwind. The down side of it, is kitchen is too small, there is hardly any where to put our cooking ingredients, also the bathtub has very little & slow water to come through.

The Pottery Cottage was beautifully furnished and reasonably well stocked. The outside of the cottage can do with some TLC especially the backyard. However, we noticed that the other cottages seemed to be better maintained. Our pup had a great time running around the yard, going for morning walks and meeting the ponies. Beware if you are planning to visit during hot weather. While the cottage has fans in the living room and bedrooms they work at a very slow pace. Unfortunately, we were there on two days with temperatures over 33 degrees. There was no relief from the heat until very late in the evening. Overall a good and quiet place to relax.
