Modern ausgestattes Haus mit allem was man braucht.

Clean, spacious and modern, great kitchen/bathroom facilities
Maybe just instructions on how to turn the heating down as it was very warm, but that’s just me being picky :)
9.0
Location was excellent, very easy to walk into the centre
5.0
location and modern, tasteful
The ground floor was unclean, smelly and things broken in downstairs bathroom. The thermostat and oven didn’t work properly.

Clean and very quiet. Close to town via car or walking paths. Parking at Prince Bishops Car Park is reasonable and very close to downtown. I would rent it again if in the area.
Our favorite restaurant in Durham was Riverview Kitchen for breakfast or lunch.
Grocery and restaurant deliveries are available here via Uber Eats and similar services.
The online guest instructions said "thermostat on wall." We think the regular thermostat shown in the Booking.com living/dining room picture above the wall phone was replaced by a non-descript wireless device but had no remote control. We hunted for three days and found an un-labelled device in the laundry room that turned on the heat. There was still no way to set the temperature. So we turned on the heat, it got hot, then we turned it off to keep the temperature reasonable. On the other hand, the separate hot water was scalding hot, so be careful.
The online instructions for the garbage pickup schedule were useless. We eventually searched the internet to find out the pickup day from the town website.
Nearly all furniture, dining items and even the kitchen cabinets are sourced from Ikea. Fortunately we found an Allen wrench in a kitchen drawer as we needed to tighten some of the loose Ikea bolts in the dining chairs.
The place is new and clean, and its great to have a parking space, but don't expect the character normally associated with a rental home that is used by long term owners. No shelves full of books to read for example.
Host and Stay, the property managers, can be difficult to reach. Unfortunately like many organizations these days, you can't get contact information for a specific person who is local and knows the property details. They operate more like an online call center. By way of example, I wanted more information about the garbage pickup day mentioned earlier. I asked via their customer service email and they cut and pasted the online "guest book" information I already had. Soo annoying!!
I also got three separate email requests from Host and Stay for a damage waiver or security deposit even after I had paid the damage waiver and received a receipt from Superhog, the group Host and Stay uses to collect such fees.

modern comfortable property in good quiet location (we enjoyed the mile walk into Durham)
the WiFi was poor and there were no instructions for the boiler! I could not locate a thermostat or a timer to ensure efficient usage.
Host & Stay also took payment on arrival when I’d already paid in full, meaning I went overdrawn so had to sort out on first day of holiday - not ideal.

Spacious accommodation, equipped with everything you need. Safe surroundings with a 20 minute walk to the center of town
6.0
The size of the property is very good, with one bedroom, one small bathroom and one laundry room (plus a backyard) on the ground floor. The kitchen (with a small breakfast bar desk), a good-sized living room and dining table are located on the 1st floor. Another twin-bedded bedroom and a bathroom are located on the 2nd floor. On this same 2nd floor, there is one big master suite bedroom with a bathroom. The furniture is modernized and comfortable. However, closets are either absent or in short in the 2 bedrooms, except that the master bedroom has a big closet.
The kitchen is also very well-equipped, with oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and coffee making machine. Coffee is good too.
The location is a big headache to those who do not drive. Walking to the city centre is via some rural muddy roads and it takes about 25 minutes. Walking back from city centre after sunset during winter is almost impossible since there is no light at all for some of the muddy roads, and it is upslope most of the time. Taking Uber from city centre costs about GBP9.

it was too hot and we could find the thermostat to turn down the heating

it was clean
nice set up of furniture
all the white goods, cooker were available, clean, instructions to hand
beds comfy
good power shower
plenty towels
good location on the town path walks route
Netflix available
the general TV channels showed ‘no signal’
There wasn’t a basics cupboard with eg salt & pepper, cooking oil, cling film
the towel ring in the downstairs loo wasn’t fixed to wall properly
there was a note about recycling but no blue wheely bin in garden to put it out. 3 bin set up in kitchen all had a black bin liner in (not recyclable) therefore unsure where to put recycling.

My family enjoyed our stay very much! The house was comfortable, clean, and in a convenient location.
7.0
Plenty of seating in the living room. A bathroom for each bedroom. Parking at the property.
Ground floor bedroom too small for the double bed. Only 5 mugs. Garden is uninviting.
9.0
Loved the layout. 3 floors, connected by small, easy to ascend, staircases. The kitchen was one of my favorite places on our 4 week trip. I loved how it was a separate room of its own, and one door down from the room that was a cozy living room and fining room. All were spacious and well equipped, beautiful and cozy. Our teen got the first floor to herself. A small bedroom with full bed and desk, plus bath. Laundry room was there too. Kitchen living room and dining on middle floor. Two bedrooms and 2 bath on top. All the beds were so comfortable with great bedding.
Sainsbury local grocery was .7 miles away down a beautiful connection of footpaths. We used uber to get to events at Durham University and to the castle and city center.

Loved the space , the fact that there was a bathroom for each bedroom, the location.
Lack of information on both the area and the house itself.

Not enough wine glasses or coffee mugs
5.0
The location was perfect for our requirements, hence the reason for booking it
We had no central heating for the first 26 hours of our stay. The electric fire, in the lounge, didn't work. Rickety furniture. Badly fitted bathroom fittings. No storage facilities in one of the double bedrooms. On the whole, the property was poorly maintained
9.0
Location, safe area
Bathroom taps are plumbed incorrectly
9.0
Quiet location despite being close to student accommodation. A little bit if a walk to the centre but pleasant and mostly downhill. Would recommend a taxi back home 😋
Downstairs (ground floor) was cold compared to rest of the house, so a bit cold in the morning/ evening getting up and ready for bed. Once in bed, it was cosy.
Fridge/freezer a bit small for property of that size. If staying for a week it could be an issue.
Nowhere to store clothes in ground floor bedroom so living out of bag. Again, if only a couple of nights or if only 1 person using the room it's not much of an issue, but a longer stay, or 2 persons sharing the room would be an issue.

Creaky floorboards

Well maintained, very comfortable and well equipped
We couldn’t find the recycling bin!

The grill pan wasn't clean on arrival. No outdoor recycling bin though we seem to have been unlucky here because the bin had mysteriously disappeared!!

Property was lovely in all ways, a real home from home.
It was a 20 minute walk into Durham which was lovely going but quite hilly on the way back. This was fine for us though.
7.0
One of the double bedrooms is extremely small. Not really a double room.
Very comfortable living room and dining area. Very quiet location while very close to walk into the centre of town. Very clean. Communication and check in arrangements very good.
10.0
Free WiFi, Netflix on tv etc house was modern, comfortable, clean, beds comfy, lots of space, 3 bathrooms, big dining table, we all thought it was great !
Would of liked a information pack with taxi numbers , best places to eat etc and explanation of recycling bins as we didn’t know which bin was for general waste paper or plastic/glass in back garden. The recycling bins in kitchen in an awkward place behind the door.
8.0
The location easy walk into Durham, parking
No cleaning products, cloths or washing up liquid.
9.0
Very clean, easy to access using key safe. Quiet neighbourhood but only 20 minutes walk from the centre of Durham. Every bedroom had a bathroom.
The only very minor niggle is that the property didn't have a re-cycling wheelie bin so we had to put all our bottles, cans etc into the landfill bin
10.0
The house was so clean and well appointed. There were 3 of us and we loved the fact that we had 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We would definitely stay there again.
8.0
Very clean; comfy beds, plenty of hot water, on site parking, walkable into town (though a bit of a drag back up the hill), nice Italian restaurant and pub in Neville's Cross, 5 min walk. Quiet.
Storage cupboards above sinks in bathrooms and kitchen units were a hazard to anyone above about 5ft 5 tall. Sinks so small, had to duck under cupboard to wash/clean teeth etc
One small fridge with tiny freezer compartment was totally inadequate for catering for a family of five.
No garden furniture to enable you to use the outdoor space.
No clothes storage in downstairs bedroom.
8.0
A very modern, clean house. We had a lovely comfortable stay at Potters Bank and would recommend to my family and friends.
Although the property has a garden, there was not any garden furniture to sit on. It was a lovely weekend and would have been ideal to sit outside in the garden.
9.0
Everything, the house is lovely, modern and comfortable and I'd be happy to recommend.
The only thing that could have improved the house would have been access to some garden furniture.
