Located in Seven Devils, this lovely cabin for $339 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Welcome to Terrapin Station! Terrapin Station is an expansive, upscale log home in Valle Crucis with three (3) large bedrooms and two (2) full bathrooms. All on one level, with wide thresholds and hallways, this is a home for anyone with mobility difficulties. It is only a few steps up to the front porch from the paved, level parking area to the level front entrance. The kitchen and dining areas are adjacent to each other, with seating for up to nine (9) guests, six (6) at the round dining table and three (3) more at the kitchen island bar. The kitchen is fully outfitted. A dramatic floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace, centered between the kitchen and dining area and the great room, is open on both sides to be enjoyed from any of the spaces. The great room boasts leather furniture, wood floors, vaulted ceilings, an HD Smart TV, and a wall of windows revealing seasonal mountain views. Walk from the great room to the open-air rear deck, stretching from one end of the house to the other, to find the hot tub, outdoor lounge, and dining area. Enjoy wooded and seasonal winter mountain views, the rolling backyard, and the fire pit. Mature hardwoods surround Terrapin Station, giving it peace and privacy. On one side of the house is the master suite, featuring a large bedroom with cathedral ceilings, a king bed, a leather reclining chair, and an HD Smart TV. The master suite has a massive closet with a hidden office/nursery. There are two (2) rollaway beds stored in the closet. The master suite also has an ensuite master bathroom with a jetted soaking tub, slate tile shower, and double his and her vanity. On the opposing side of the house are two more large bedrooms, each with queen beds, cathedral ceilings, and HD Smart TVs. These two bedrooms are close to a second full bathroom with a large custom shower. The laundry room on this side of the house has a washer, dryer, and exterior access to provide a mudroom entrance. For large groups, the neighbor's cabin - Honey Bear - is also available to book. It is within walking distance. Central heating and air conditioning, WiFi Internet, HD Smart TVs for your streaming apps, an Xbox One, Bluetooth Music options, and a Gas Grill on the front porch are just a few features guests enjoy at Terrapin Station! Centrally located in Valle Crucis, Terrapin Station is less than five (5) miles from the Valle Crucis Community Park, the Watauga River, the Original Mast General Store, restaurants, and shopping. Other nearby attractions include: Boone - ten (10) miles Blowing Rock - less than fifteen (15) miles Banner Elk - less than fifteen (15) miles Grandfather Mountain - about ten (10) miles Sugar Mountain Ski Resort - about ten (10) miles Hawksnest Snow Tubing & Zip Lines on Seven Devils - about ten (10) miles Appalachian Ski Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad - less than fifteen (15) miles Beech Mountain Ski Resort - about twenty (20) miles Watauga Lake - less than thirty (30) miles Linville Falls and Linville Caverns - less than thirty (30) miles SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS (maximum occupancy of 8 guests): King Master Suite (sleeps 2) Queen Bedroom #1 (sleeps 2) Queen Bedroom #2 (sleeps 2) Rollaway Twin Beds (sleeps 2) CANCELLATION POLICY: You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount. We had a wonderful time. Everything was clean with the exception of the master jet tub, but it just needs the jets blown out properly. Hot tub was perfect for four adults. Beautiful views (though you can see some condos in the distance). So nice and quiet. Fireplace was appreciated. Can’t really complain! Beds were comfy and linens were clean. Perfect location if you want to be close to the major surrounding towns but have a lot of privacy. Overall 5 stars!

We visited with another couple to enjoy the Fall weather. We were thrilled with our lodging- the fireplace really enhanced the ambiance of the setting. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Requesting the wood delivery through our host made it all super easy. We even had an opportunity to spot a few bears. We highly recommend

The home was lovely! Very clean and well stocked. It was located in a serene spot surrounded by wildlife. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the deer and birds. We will definitely return!

We loved the quietness of the cabin. It is super clean and comfortable. We were able to watch deer from the back Deck. If we ever come to the region again this is the cabin I will rent. Thanks for a first class experience.

Some folks pointed out the road was rough getting there. There is a lot of dirt roads that are the only way there… and honestly, it made it that much more enjoyable! A little off road never hurts!! The home is beautiful! The outside fire pit was great! Spent lots of time drinking coffee and enjoying the wildlife (we had a family of deer pass by one night). Overall, I’m grateful for all that is offered by this owner. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with folks who want to rent it! I promise, if you decide to stay here, it will be a wonderful experience!!

Beautiful home in beautiful surroundings at top of mountain. In the winter you definitely want an all wheel drive vehicle. Nice fire pit addition along with hotub with a view makes this place a great pick for having fun in the high country. 30 minutes to Boone, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk. Perfect location.

The property actually exceeded the pics on the website!! Absolutely beautiful and spacious. We had four adults and plenty of room for visiting and relaxation. The only drawback was that single lane road up to the cabin was under construction and almost impassable during our stay. Lots of dirt washouts and deep ruts for about half a mile. Would defiantly go back but would confirm that the construction was complete before I returned. Overall good experience.

This is a beautiful cabin. It’s clean, the beds are comfortable, the fireplace is so nice, everything from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the hot tubs are great. Tv and internet works well. The rental company is great to deal with. It is up a very long, gravel (paved in some areas) road, so grab your groceries and essentials before you head up so you can just enjoy this amazing cabin once you get there. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed the large hot tub and privacy. Also enjoyed the bathtub and large shower! We knew we would have to drive on the gravel road but definitely underestimated the winding road. Easily driven in the summer though! House did provide kitchen sponge, soap, towels and small bottles of shampoo and soap but brought our own. Bed felt like memory foam, lots of blankets and throw pillows. We absolutely loved the Terrapin and Grateful Dead decor!

Way off the beaten path! Secluded in the woods getaway. The hot tub was wonderful, and the beautiful home had a nice layout. Near the Alpine roller coaster, gem mining, Boone....lots to do and see!

The house is sufficiently stocked for a longer stay. We made all meals at home with no issues. Overall the cleanliness was good. Use the turn by turn directions, you will struggle with GPS.

The house is beautiful, and we would stay there again. The gravel road wasn't an issue for us, but it should have been mentioned in the online listing. We found it funny that just past the 'State Maintenance Ends' sign, the road goes from gravel back to pavement.

My wife and I stayed here for a 4 day getaway. We were completely satisfied with the cabin. It's location was perfect for us. We rode around each day enjoying to fall foliage and returned to this private retreat each night. I would definitely recommend this cabin if you are planning a trip.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was clean and had everything we needed. The house is extremely private as you feel like you are secluded in the woods. The tall ceilings and large rooms made the cabin feel very spacious! We would stay here again!
