Location, size of the apartment and the beds were comfy. Two countdown supermarkets within walking distance.

We decided to splash out and have a girls weekend away in Auckland and decided to picked this place to stay. When we arrived at 2:30pm, we were told we were not allowed to check in until 3pm (even thought I requested to check in earlier). We asked if we could leave our bags somewhere (as I had asked prior). They said yes but there was a cost associated (first time I had heard of this!). Seemed stupid paying for bag storage for 30mins. I asked if they would still charge for 30 mins and they negotiated and agreed they wouldn’t charge us for 30mins. We were thrilled and I asked what time they closed and they said we had to be back before 5pm (which we were not able to). We asked if we could leave our bags in the room as we needed to go out and would not be back in time to collect our bags by 5pm when the management office closed. They said no. Not helpful at all. We ended up making alternative arrangements for our bags. We arrived around 6:30pm and when we entered the room it was smelly. Smelt like a combination of wet dog and cat pee. It wasn’t pleasant. The bathroom (shower in particular) did not look clean - it was gross. The kitchen wasn’t the cleanest either. The cups, plates, glasses etc were sticky and not clean. We ended up putting them through the dishwasher before we could use them. The heat pump didn’t work. Some of the walls had been plastered but not painted. The views of the harbour were not able to be seen easily unless you hung your body over the balcony and leant out. I’m an ex property manager - the experience I had with the management office was not something I would rave about. They were rude and not helpful. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the apartment. The apartment should be spotless, and at the very least it should smell clean. I was surprised with the cleanliness, especially when you are required to pay an additional cost for cleaning. This was not a cheap place to stay. For what we paid, we would have expected more.

Property was in an excellent location close to all the CBD and viaduct action. Access was easy no issues with an after hours check in. Had all the appliances and amenities, everything you need for a home away from home stay.

Be prepared to fork out for parking and don’t be late renewing tickets even a few short minutes will land you with a parking ticket. A curtain upgrade is needed as curtains don’t completely cover the whole lounge room and sheer curtains would be great for privacy as the Hilton guests can see straight into the apartment.
