Perfect house with a perfect view

The view of the lake was breathtaking. I loved that we were 15mins from everything. Cynthia was great with communication.

Honestly there was NOT 1 thing I could complain about. I am the type of person that doesn't believe in perfection and this house was perfect!!

Spectacular location on the water with everything we needed, from kayaks to cookware. Lovely host.

Spectacular location right on the water, with a dock for easy access to the lake and a raft for those willing to brave the cold water. The dock was a perfect place to sit and watch the sunset, as was the deck with lake views, grill and picnic table. House has a wood-burning fireplace, everything you need in the kitchen, and puzzles, games and books for rainy days. It couldn't have been easier to get the keys and get set up, and Cynthia was readily available to answer questions. Lovely vacation spot that also has Wifi and streaming (Netflix, etc.). Lots of great places to relax outside and both floors are very cozy. Downstairs has its own sliding glass door looking out to the lake and a porch swing perfect for warm days. House has two kitchens and two laundry rooms -- ideal for couples or family members traveling together but wanting their own space. Spacious living rooms on both floors for guests wanting to spend time together. We loved it!

Be aware that the location is pretty remote. Cynthia provided good suggestions about restaurants nearby but there aren't a ton. It's usually easiest to go to Derby or Newport and buy what you need and then just stay on the property. This worked out fine for us, as we never wanted to leave!

Amazing lake house

Amazing location on Echo Lake, Charlestown, Vermont. The house is well-designed, very comfortable, clean, and well-organized, new equipment and furniture next to some old but well-kept items make it a very special place to stay in. The host was amazing and helped with everything that was necessary. The kayaks were a great way to enjoy the lake as the water was too cold to swim in. The fly nets were an important blocker of all sorts of insects during nighttime. Several beautiful places and nice local shops to visit while in the area (although it is totally unnecessary to leave the house)

1. The flynet frames could use some fixing. 2. There is no cellular reception around the house - only wi-fi. It could be an issue to complete two-factor authentication to access some online services. Make sure you have an alternative way to sign in without text messages etc. 3. Spotty cell reception in the area - make sure you have an off-line map of the entire region. 4. Grocery store and gas are a bit far away (~15-20 minute drive) - make sure to get a full tank and stock up on groceries before arrival.
