We came up to Bar Harbor and Acadia for a few days. Deer Meadow is by far one of the most immaculate homes we have visited. It sits on a huge, lush piece of land, but it was still very convenient to Acadia NP. But beyond all of this, the hosts Alice and Kyle really go the extra mile to make yoh feel welcome. It's so nice having coffee, snacks and even s'more fixings waiting for you. A&K were also very quick in reapobding to any questions. Great time all around. A++

This house was perfect for my wife and I and our two teenage sons. It is was newly renovated, very clean and perfectly equipped for a summer get-away; and within easy driving distances to all that we wanted to so in Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and the local beach.

This was the perfect VRBO for our family of 4. The location is just far enough from Bar Harbor to avoid the crowds but close enough to travel to many other locations. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and purchased fresh lobster right up the road to cook outside at the campfire. The owner even left everything needed to make Smore's which the teens thought was pretty cool. My family travels often and we always stay at a VRBO. This was the cleanest and most comfortable by far! We had a wonderful stay and would recommend 100%!

Deer Meadows is a nice, very clean home. It worked great for our family of 5 visiting Acadia. The house is updated and has everything one would need. The location is fine, about 20-30 minute easy drive to Bar Harbor and the main part of the park. Ideally, we would choose to be closer to the water, but that was not an option this time, and just a personal preference. All of the communication and rental process was very easy.

We enjoyed our stay immensely from the moment we stepped in the door. The owners go above and beyond with extras. They left a lovely welcome basket and waters. The kitchen was stocked with everything, plenty of towels, and paper supplies. The house was very clean! They also left us a nice treat which I will leave as a surprise. Perfect location for us as we spent most of our time at acadia and it was a peaceful break from Bar Harbor. Super close to groceries and restaurants also. Wonderul place and great host!

The house was beautifully appointed, every thing we needed with additional touches for comfort. The house is only 25 minutes from Bar Harbor which is just what we needed! Super clean and tastefully decorated... the soaking tub made our stay a little extra special.

My husband and I stayed at Deer Meadows for our trip to Acadia this past week. When first planning our trip, I was hoping to stay right in Bar Harbor but nothing was available. That turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise. Alice and Kyle went above and beyond with every single detail at Deer Meadows. The house is spotless and stocked with everything we needed to feel at home for the week. We stopped at Walmart (approximately 5ish minutes away) to pick up food on our way to check-in, filled the refrigerator, and we were set for the week. The kitchen has every appliance and gadget one could possibly need. Unlike so many other properties on VRBO, towels, sheets, TP and paper towels are included. The furniture is so comfortable after a long day of hiking. The back deck has a nice table for outdoor dining. The front porch is so inviting - I wish we had the time to chill out there for a while. Then there are the thoughtful little details - a welcome basket with fun snacks (and two other things I won’t mention so future guests can enjoy the surprise), games for both indoors and out, pamphlets with info on things to do in the area…even a little hook in the shower for a loofah. I’m sure there are a couple of fun facts I’m not thinking of right at the moment, but bottom line, Deer Meadows is at the very top of our list of favorite places to stay. Thank you to our hosts- you guys are the best. You made us feel that you genuinely wanted our stay to be perfect and it was!

Two couples from PA stayed at this lovely property. We could have not asked for a more perfect vacation. The house was very cozy and absolutely spotless. The owner had thought of everything that we would need and more. Thanks for your kind hospitality.

A truly wonderful stay. Deer Meadows is perfectly situated in the region around Acadia National Park, giving you a short drive to the park itself, downtown Bar Harbor, and other locations on Mount Desert Island, while also offering speedy access to all the grocery shopping, restaurants, and other essentials a family will need on an extended stay. The property is quiet and charming, on a country road next door to some very entertaining goats and horses with an enormous yard and perfect little firepit. While we didn't see any deer, we were visited by rabbits, turkeys, and a platoon of hawks flying overhead looking for a meal.
The interior is styled and designed wonderfully, with a toughtful selection of books, games, and all the TV and other entertainment options you'll need.
The hosts are very responsive and helpful, and leave great recommendations and detailed tips. We love it here!

Family Perfect
Huge property with plenty of things to do around. We had a toddler and a newborn with us — the house had enough space for all to enjoy a quiet sleep. Lots of fun places to drive to.

Awesome Property
The property and items left for usage were very well thought out, most things that are forgotten, were provided. Close to Walmart and other stores, close to Acadia and restaurants. Plenty of documentation of area attractions, would absolutely stay again. Can’t say enough good things.

Beautiful centrally located home
This lovely home was just perfect after a long day of exploring. We’ve become quite particular with our VRBO rentals and this cozy and comfortable home was just perfect. As other reviews mentioned, there is such an attention to detail. We enjoy cooking while away and we were happy to find cooking oil and basic spices along with any kind of pan, pot, strainer, measuring cup, etc you could need. The washer and dryer were great to be able to pack less and just do a load of wash halfway through our trip.
Small touches like best selling novels in the main bedroom and young adult novels in the spare room were such nice surprises. Indoor games for a rainy day or quiet evening. The outdoor lawn games were fun while making fires in the fire pit at night. Having complementary Netflix and Disney + was wonderful to relax and see some movies at night.
Don’t miss nearby host recommendations of Bloomfield Park and Lamoine Beach Park, both beautiful hidden gems. We saw an eagle souring over the lake at Bloomfield and a seal catching fish at Lamoine Beach.
Of course Acadia is stunning but don’t miss out on less popular Schoodic Peninsula. We really enjoyed the serenity and beauty there, almost hate to say it, but maybe more than the main park in Mt Desert Island. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Excellent rental
I highly recommend this property. It is in a great location, very clean and the host is wonderful. She has thought of everything you might need, includes tons of little "extra surprises" and has great communication. After a long day of vacation activities it is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

An A+ rental
This property is exactly as described and looks in the photos. First, the house is new, clean and very well appointed. We really appreciated all the special touches the host provided: coffee, tea, snacks, ROBES just like nicer hotels, makings for smores, and lotion in addition to other bath products. Great communication before our stay. They pretty much thought of everything. Even had the bonfire all ready to go which we passed on since the temps were in the single digits. I would stay here again.

My VRBO experience
We absolutely loved this property. It was very clean and well thought out. They provided all the amenities you could ever need. It was also in a great location. It was a short drive to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor and close to many stores and restaurants. Highly recommend!

awesome place in a beautiful area
We stayed at Deer Meadows and loved it. What an immaculate place that looks exactly like the beautiful photos. It was quiet and in a great location, about 20 minutes from Bar Harbor and
Acadia. Our only regret was filling the days up so full that we did not enjoy this wonderful home enough. Thanks for all the extra sweet treats you provide. We could tell that much pride went into making this place nice! We would love to come back.

We stayed for three nights in this well appointed house and loved every minute. It is so well located- only about 20 mins or so to the Arcadia National Park, and also close to grocery stores but in a quiet location (we even saw some deer). I don't think we could have wanted for anything, and there were so many thoughtful extras provided. I highly recommend this property. Thanks Alice for being such a great host.

Excellent and clean property
The property was great. The house was very clean and spacious. Alice was a wonderful host. She had a generous welcome basket with snacks and champagne. She supplied plenty of coffee and other items for our stay. We saw deer and turkeys and thoroughly enjoyed the property and location. It was very convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Wonderful place. Thank you Alice.

Texas in the harbor
This was our 6th stop on our east coast road trip. By far the cleanest and most comfortable place thus far. If we return to bar harbor we will definitely stay again!

If you want to avoid crowds, yet be close to many great locations, this house is perfect. We could get up early and have a relatively short drive to the Mount Desert section of Acadia to see the popular sites before the crowds arrived. Then we could stop back at the house before heading to the less crowded Schoodic Peninsula area for the afternoons. The house was also very close (just a little over 10 minutes) to the tidal falls in Hancock, where we could find plenty of starfish at low tide. Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater is now in Eastport instead of Bar Harbor so Lamoine also made a great starting point for visiting sites like that outside of the Acadia area.
The house itself was very clean, well stocked, and beautifully decorated with local Maine memorabilia. The white tailed deer we saw in the mornings made it clear why this house is named "Deer Meadows". I wish we had had more time to just relax there. I took pictures of several Acadia books that I didn't have time to read, so I can buy them and read them at home. We didn't even get to enjoy all of the outdoor options but as others mentioned, there were supplies for s'mores, outdoor games and a nice porch area too. We ate many meals at the house and everything we needed was there. We did take-out instead of cooking but it looked like everything you would need to actually cook was there too. There were plenty of measuring cups (Which for some reason seem to be missing at many rental houses.) and even a crockpot There was foil for reheating leftovers and a good variety of spices. The only thing I couldn't find were trash bags but it might be that the last guests used the last of those and I travel with some of those anyway. It was truly the only thing I couldn't find there that you might want to bring along. There was even a colander for rinsing the wild blueberries we bought! And as someone else mentioned, thankfully there was butter in the fridge. There is a place to buy lobsters a few houses down the road. We bought the lobsters already cooked, but the equipment to cook them yourself is all outside at the house if you want to cook them yourself.
The bed sheets and the mattress topper were nice and soft. There were also extra towels which was nice. We showered and washed the towels frequently just to be safe with all the poison ivy we saw lurking around the trails at Acadia.
Kyle and Alice are quick to respond to any questions. I'm out of room but thanks for a great week!!

Home away from home
We stayed here mid-way through a family road trip and absolutely loved it. The hosts included everything we might need, including guidebooks, yard games, fire pit, and even a basket of smores ingredients, ready to go!
From the photo of the exterior, it doesn't look like much, but the interior was spacious, modern, and bright. Of the 5 places we stayed on our trip, this one is by far the best. The hosts did such a nice job making us feel welcome.
Bar Harbor and Acadia are 25-30 minutes away, and you can't walk anywhere from here, but that was fine for us.
I'd offer just one small recommendation. The AC unit blew directly onto the sofa, which made it a little uncomfortable, so we turned it off for much of the time.

We had a very nice time in Maine at this property. Everything was as it said it was going to be in the listing and the pictures matched perfectly to what we found when we arrived. They have everything you need for s’mores and lobster bakes (minus the lobster) and they even had butter in the fridge which was awesome because I completely forgot to buy some! We have a baby under 1 so we spent a lot of evening time at the house and it was very peaceful and relaxing. When we go back to Acadia I will definitely look here first!

Cozy place for a relaxed vacation
We LOVE this cozy house with a lovely name. It place really provides us the feeling of “ make yourself at home”, it’s clean and tidy. Everything is in a great condition. What really make us feel at home is the details that this place takes care of and this place has everything we needed without rushing to the supermarket. It has variety of indoor and outdoor games which is a PLUS along with the setting which makes it a perfect vacation place. Hope we will come back in future. :) Last but not least, both Alice and Kyle are easy to communicate.

The house was very clean and modern. We found a nice gift basket and some necessities on arrival which was a nice surprise. Big yard in a quiet area, convenient for getting to all the Acadia points of interest. Also close to Ellsworth which was nice when we had to do shopping.
We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
