The bed was comfy, the view was nice.
There was left over food in the fridge and microwave from the last guests. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. Would have been good to have a little tap or something in the room with the fridge to rinse dishes and for water. The driveway was SKETCHY! Also no TV.

That we could bring our dog. The initial online correspondence (explaining the carparking and steep driveway). Bed was comfy. Driveway and carpark was lit up at night, to make it easier to see (very helpful). Chocolate easter eggs as a welcome gift. Dark blinds. Lovely view of the water.
Pays to read all reviews.....not just the ones at the top of the list, therefore, have a bit of an idea what to expect. The room (deluxe) we stayed in, was ok.....as stated prior, the bed was very comfy. The "common room" and bathroom need attention (cleanliness) and probably replacement rugs in the common room (dank and musty smell)....and a really deep clean overall. Old used by food, condiments etc in leaky fridge and on shelf/in drawers, is questionable? Host was....."different"..not unfriendly as such, but she did come into our room and upon realising we were in it, still proceeded to hastily pull the mats out from under our luggage and dog...while my partner was in bed napping, and was dragging our belongings out with the rugs as she went, saying that she spoke to my husband about cleaning floors being easier than cleaning carpets (obviously referring to pets), when, she never said a word to him. She then put those rugs rolled up, on the common room floor...on top of the ones that had the bad smell??? Our room would lock from the inside but we weren't provided with a key to our room to lock it when we left for the evening, and then we got locked out of the common room (main entry) upon returning later, having to knock on a door of the neighbouring room - thank goodness she was home and told us where the key was (we weren't informed of this prior). For those still reading this review, the accommodation consists of either the deluxe room or a small stand alone room on the other side of the driveway. The deluxe room is inside the house and you go through the common room to get to the bathroom/toilet. The smaller room, is not in the house.... and you have to go outside the room, across the driveway and into the common room to go to the bathroom. Cash is the only payment option and that is expected straight away.

the Area/location view was lovely.
has potential.
very strange host tried to come into the room while we were asleep not going back left asap. (could have messaged if you needed to contact me was no need to try and enter the room we paid for while we were still in bed.)
she warned us about the cats peeing if door left opened.. room still smelt of cat pee, I’d recommend cleaning the walls as I’ve had a cat before that use to spray on the walls so please try that may work in your favour and potential guest.

Comfortable bed, good sized bedroom, affordable, great views!
Owner was prickly, she was friendly to my husband but prickly towards me. There was black hairs on the floor and black hairs in the bathroom which was disturbing. The bathroom also smelt like cat pee.

Very nice and quiet location with very unique garden.

We loved the environment, it is a budget establishment, but it's not what you would expect as such. Sure it's got shared facilities, but they are all nice to be in.
Quirky decore adds to the experience

The owner/occupier was friendly and personable. Great location and views were lovely.
The issues raised in a previous review were taken on board, which says a lot about the owners level of integrity. She has a fabulous home and premises which at the time of our stay just needed a little TLC and this has been addressed. I wish her well in her endeavors.
