About this house rental
Located in East Ridge, this lovely house for $151 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Thatcher's Mill House was built in 1919 for the mill workers 3 blocks down that worked at Standard-Coosa Thatcher Mill. There is a one dog limit. My insurance will not allow Pit bulls, Chows, or Dobermans. No mixes with these 3 breeds. It was a shotgun house that started with knob and tube electricity and no plumbing. Behind the house is a lot that all the local women would to get their water from a spring located there, no longer there due to the interstate and the demolition of many of the Missionary Ridge Houses. Remodeled and now like new this is a little gem that invites guests to enjoy what Chattanooga offers. Two mile to downtown Chattanooga. I live across the street and behind my house is an old maintained 3 tiered garden with wonderful views of the city. The sunsets are awesome with a goldfish pond and a Mermaid fountain. Sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the sound of the birds singing and the water splashing. Let your worries melt away. The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on this very ground. There have been bullets and shot found on the property. Come and converse with the ghosts....just kidding. Please do not ask for a late check out. I respect that my cleaners have lives other than just cleaning my rentals. Feel free to stay another day. Thank you!

If you're even considering booking this home, JUST DO IT! It was absolutely perfect in every way! Super clean, small but spacious, and decorated beautifully. And let's discuss the electric fireplace ~ an amazing luxury I didn't know I needed! Each night when we arrived 'home' I would turn on the fireplace, make myself a cup of tea, kick back in the recliner with the snuggly blanket and just breathe and relax. Nice, quiet neighborhood. My husband was lucky enough to meet our gracious hostess, Ms. Tammy. Unfortunately I was unavailable but heard she is just as lovely as her home! Thanks for an amazing getaway! We will be back!

We loved, loved, loved this home. I was amazed and impressed by the host's remarkable use of the space; although this was a small house, it felt both spacious and homey. Great Christmas touches, too! Wonderful and interesting park/garden across the street, complete with guinea hens. This property--or another by this host, if I'm traveling with a larger group--will be my first choice when visiting Chattanooga. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It is clean, well decorated and just the right size for a couple or a single. The hostess is pleasant and available if anything is needed. We will probably stay here again when we return to Chattanooga.

We spent five nights here to see the sights in Chattanooga. The location was great, and the unit was an ideal fit for my wife and myself and our dog. We had a great time.

This was a beautiful little home with everything we could need. We enjoyed it very much. We took our furbaby with us for the first time and we learned we cant leave her alone. She ended up breaking an item and scratched the door. I feel really bad about that and sincerely apologize for it.
I would love to stay there again, it is absolutely beautiful and very close to all of the attractions.

I named the property, The Redhouse. It was nice, cozy, and centrally located. The owner provided everything you could image for ages birth to 99. I wish I could have stayed longer.

We went to Chattanooga to check out the Caverns Ruby Falls, Lookout Ridge, the aquarium, and this place was in the middle of it all. We even did a day in Nashville. It was two hours away, but worth the day trip. We really enjoyed it. The place was beautiful would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Very neat place. 12 mins or less to every place we wanted to go. Very much enjoyed ourselves. Loved the garden area across the street. We will certainly book this place again.

Traveling to Chicago from Melbourne FL we did a two and a half day layover in ‘nooga’ staying at Thatcher Mill House and could not have been more pleased with this accommodation. Everything was as advertised, the location close to downtown, and the pride of ownership was evident in the attention to small details, cleanliness and ample provisions. Tammy is a warm and friendly host and I happily give this place my highest recommendation!

This is one of our top 3 VRBO rentals! The house was so well thought out and planned. The location was 20 minutes from everything want wanted to explore and see while visiting. The street parking was easy as it is a dead end road and the property owner let us use her driveway as a turnaround. We never got a chance to see her property gardens thanks to the heat! After a few days in the heat, we opted for pizza delivery from Chattanooga Pizza and Netflix one evening. The dogs loved the backyard area to sniff.
We hope to make it back in fall or spring and this will be our choice in where to stay. 10/10 Ideal Rental for 2 adults and doggos!

Adorable property, well decorated and clean. The location was not ideeal, as we wanted to be closer to the tourist area and lookout mountain. That's on me for not doing better research though. Because of this we had to cut our stay short by a day and I ended up staying with friends.

This is the 6th time I’ve stayed at one of Tammy’s properties. Quiet area, houses are clean and extremely well stocked, and you would never even know dogs are allowed. Will definitely be back!

Myself and my two girls stayed at this amazing lil get-a-way during the scenic city softball showcase. We all 3 loved it and didn’t want to leave. My 19yr old said ‘even the baseboards are spotless’ Tammy is wonderful and kind. We can’t wait to go back.

This cute house was a nice option for my my family and our dog. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is very close to the highway, so at night it is loud and not the silence I'm used to sleeping in. Overall we had a nice visit and it felt like we could make ourselves at home.

We learned about this house’s rich history while reading the scrapbook Tammy compiled and placed on the coffee table. I sat on the front porch and read a tiny Sherlock Holmes book that was used for decoration in the kitchen. We enjoyed apps like Netflix and Hulu, which she has available to use on the Roku televisions. We cooked brownies in the well-stocked cabinets in the gorgeous and modern kitchen. We sat around a fire pit (which we could’ve used, but didn’t) under decorative lights in the cozy back yard. We slept like babies in the comfortable bed while breathing air enriched by a glowing salt lamp. We enjoyed strolling leisurely through the beautiful gardens and such available across the street.
Given the opportunity, we’d definitely return.

We have a son who is in love with history. We planned a trip to see Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain, lots of other civil war things and needed a place to land for a couple of nights. He was so excited to stay in a 100 year old home and we studied some of the history behind the shotgun house. Tammy was an excellent host and extremely friendly. She also brought my son a small artifact she had found on her property! We would definitely recommend this house and stay again!!

This was the cutest house, even better in person than the listing. Tammy was incredibly sweet and we enjoyed chatting with her and meeting her pup! Conveniently located, less than 10 minutes from everything we did. Will definitely be back for another trip to Chattanooga.

This house is adorable. So clean. So well appointed. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, lots of towels, hand towels, wash cloths, even some extra cleaning supplies and laundry supplies. I was also so impressed with some extra travel toiletries in the bathroom. Everything is very thoughtfully done.

My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway and it was great! Tammy’s house is exactly as depicted, very clean and cute. The location is about 10 minutes from most things downtown which was very nice, and Tammy was super easy to contact. Definitely recommend.

We traveled to Chattanooga for holidays with family. Tammy welcomed us with true warmth and staged some awesome Christmas decor for us. The location was perfect for us, halfway between downtown and family. We look forward to booking this property again!
