Nothing special about this place. Things I didn’t like: No phone to call restaurant or front desk No plastic cup No nose tissue No AC Shower spout was at mouth level for me and I had to bend/squat to shower Dead Cockroaches in the room Damn roosters cockadoodling at 3 in the morning. Can’t close the windows cause that will make the room hotter TV had no TV guide. Each time had to scroll through the 62 channels to find the station to watch Had to wait 10 minutes over my phone to check out just to get a receipt for my stay because the front desk of “Molokai Hotel” doesn’t deal with customers of “Vacasa” At least there was a kitchenette with utensils, plates, and cups

The hotel and restaurant staff was fantastic. Extremely helpful and really looked out for us. The grounds are immaculately manicured daily. The room was a different story. I understand this is a privately owned unit. The owner should really invest in some much needed updating. There's no air conditioning even though other units have definitely been updated with air conditioning units. Only 2 fans in the unit, that only move around the hot air and the were small. We had to keep the patio door open the entire 7 day stay to try and catch a breeze. And there was an extra bed the blocked most of the patio door causing us not to get as much air than we could have. We had ants and giant cockroaches pretty bad. Hotel staff had to provide us bug spray and torro ant bait. We killed 2 giant cockroaches and found 4 additional dead ones. 1 the ants were devouring. There were mouse dropping under the kitchen counters and on and under one of the small beds. The screen was torn on the patio door which allowed flies and mosquitoes in. The room is in the back near the trash and septic system so when the breeze blew just right, the smells that would woalft in was horrible. We would frequently have to leave the room just to avoid the nauseous smell. And a deep deep clean wouldn't hurt. Dirty baseboard, the fan was very dirty. dirty mirror and picture frames. Stained lamp shades.. and filthy room corners at every turn in this room. We will be back but definitely NEVER this room again

I liked the hotel and room. It is Very quiet, relaxing, and just what we wanted for a spiritual experience. This was a special visit for my husband and me. We enjoyed our quiet time away from the noise and respect that Molokai residents want the same. This island is not for anyone as it may not offer the same as the other touristy areas like Maui, Oahu, and Kauai. This authentic island experience reminds me of how I grew up. Molokai is very similar to other Hawaiian islands, but the critical difference is not having many people, tourists, and noise.
