This property is everything advertised and more. Great location, beautiful home, and wonderful owners who were available to help. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone in the area. Can't wait to return.

This inviting home is ideally located and only 20-25 minutes away from Charlevoix and Petosky, MI. The autumn colors were spectacular along the hills and landscape! When evening came, we snuggled in the comfortable sofa, had warm tea and enjoyed the time spent with great friends! This home can be a “home away from home”

We enjoyed our stay. Lots of extras, clean and very well provisioned. Really enjoyed out door area, the fire pit and swings. Nice location, walked to town and we enjoyed the bikes.

No problems. All four adults and one baby were very happy there. Thank you! Our vacation was everything we hoped for. 😃

We felt very comfortable there. It was clean and beautifully decorated. We loved what we called the gathering room. It was huge. It was a great place for us to all hang out together. We could all fit on a large sectional and watch a movie The large kitchen and dining room were also in that open space. We could all sit there and eat together at the same time. It had a beautiful wood ceiling. We enjoyed playing vinyl records in there. The bedrooms and bathrooms worked out well for us. We had a new barbecue that was great to cook on. Our grandkids loved all of the toys. and books. It was definitely a great place to stay.

We played our music a little too loudly for the neighbor’s liking, though. (If you’re looking for a spot to host raging parties, I’d suggest you keep searching!) But, if you’re looking for a cozy spot in a quiet area that’s conveniently located, beautifully decorated (especially for the holidays), and hosted by great people, The Happy Place is it!

It’s very close to Lake Charlevoix and downtown Boyne City - we also spent time at nearby Boyne Mountain and Avalanche Bay Waterpark. The hosts were very responsive and super helpful with recommendations. They also supplied us with a detailed welcome guide to the property that outlined house policies as well as available local activities. We really loved the property and hope to return!

We've stayed in a bunch of rental properties over the last several years and this house has risen to the top of the list. The vibe is cozy and comfortable. The sheets & towels were high quality and comfortable (you definitely don't get this at most rentals)! The owners thought of all the little details to help you feel at home and provide comfort and ease...Hooks for coats/sweaters/towels, chargers by the bed, nightlights so you can find your way at night and my girls LOVED reading the book about the Petoskey stones. We even went on a treasure hunt to the beach and were thrilled to find some of these "special" stones. We truly can't wait to come back and stay here again. The location is great - quiet street and close to everything. It was nice to have access to the garage. You could simply tell that the owners care and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. We can't wait to come back!

We had a fantastic family getaway at The Happy Place and loved everything about this vacation rental. The location is great - close to town, restaurants, and Lake Charlevoix, but located on a private road that is very quiet and peaceful. The house has the "Up North" feel that makes you immediately relax and slow down. The kitchen has everything you need, the bedrooms are spacious and have ample closet space, the mattresses are comfortable and the bathrooms are extremely clean and organized. The large sectional couch is cozy and inviting, especially after a long day of sightseeing. Ending the day with a soak in the hot tub was a highlight for all of us. Chris and Whitney are incredible hosts and have thought of everything, including a welcome gift waiting for us upon arrival that included Lake Charlevoix Coffee and Happy Place coasters! About a week before our trip, Chris sent a helpful welcome guide that included information on check-in, home access, parking, and Wi-Fi, along with fantastic suggestions for daily tips, activities, and restaurants. This was so helpful, especially when deciding where we wanted to go for dinner. We will be back to The Happy Place and are so thankful to Chris and Whitney for sharing this special place with us.

The Happy place was perfect.. two couples for a week of golf in and around Boyne City.. host was great at communicating. Great details provided upon booking. Chris checked in to make sure everything was ok.. this newly remodeled home was a great place to relax after a hot day of golf. We all enjoyed the hot tub for our old aches and pains., the home was clean .. sheets and towels as well., beds comfy.. kitchen was well stocked .. we did clean the grill but the old bbq burned right off.. got lucky on a last minute cancellation! Lucky us because it was a great week and we enjoyed Boyne City as well.. Stiggs loaded fries might make you have a heart attack but you’ll die with a smile on your face..

I’m so glad we had the opportunity to stay at the Happy Place at Lake Charlevoix. We were central to all the amazing things that Up North Michigan has to offer and we knew we could settle in easily after a long day of adventuring. Truly an amazing place to stay!

We truly enjoyed northern Michigan with this home being our home base. We love everything about Boyne City and the surrounding area. The home was very clean and spacious and had everything we could have needed for our week away. Thank you for letting us enjoy your "Happy Place". We can't wait to visit again!

The house is fully stocked and has a lot of small items that go a long way to provide comfort like books for the kids, plenty of cozy blankets, and a great outdoor space. It was a quick drive or bike ride downtown and enough space to stay in if the weather is bad. Chris is very communicative and helpful. It's a great place for a family trip up north!

Enjoyed our stay. House was clean, tidy and has lots of good features (e.g. 3 spacious bedrooms, propane grill, hot tub, well equipped kitchen). Even had a working record player…hadn’t listened to vinyl in years. :) Chris was a pleasure to work with.

The Happy Place is now our happy place. We loved being so close to downtown Boyne City, Young State Park, and a grocery store for all of the essentials. The home is spacious, beautifully decorated, and the beds are very comfortable! It feels like home after a long day at the beach and strolling the streets of Boyne City. Don’t miss Cafe Sante, Lake Street Pub, and Alpine Chocolate Haus. For the wine drinkers - Provisions is a must! The Happy Place owners are fantastic. Excellent communication about the property, fun Instagram interactions, and they even welcome you with a special little gift upon arrival. (No spoilers. You’ll have to wait and see!) Great experience! I’ve already booked two weeks for winter.
