Wow! We had the most amazing time at The Wallace. Location was perfect for us, staff were friendly and attentive, housekeeping was great, and the decor was elegant, soothing, and beautiful. It even smelled fantastic when you walked in the door. We loved the lounge with cocktails, live jazz, and a crackling fire--so cozy after a night on the town. We were unexpectedly upgraded from a deluxe queen to a deluxe suite (with a private balcony!) and felt absolutely spoiled from start to finish. When we mentioned it was my birthday, the front desk sent up a bottle of wine and birthday card. I especially loved the boutique style and feel of The Wallace. It has all the amenities you could want but feels unique and special, not like just another chain hotel. Some of the reviews mentioned there was no restaurant, but with a million amazing places to eat just outside the door, it really isn't needed. We would absolutely stay here next time we visit. Wonderful experience!
nothing. loved it! felt so spoiled and cared for. can't think of anything to improve. :)

Location was great. Neighborhood feel but easy to walk to many food options. Felt safe. Loved the actual hotel. Super clean! We paid for the one bedroom which made a huge difference. We had plenty of room.
The elevators got a little backed up. There was a short line but it worked out.

The room was very nice. The shower was double-headed, robe and disposable slippers provided. Nespresso in the room with pods, although we didn’t use any. Complimentary snacks which our daughter enjoyed. Lots of different lighting options and an automatic shade. It was clean and well appointed overall. The lobby and lounge are beautiful. We easily found parking several times including overnight. Everything was clean and functioned properly.
Check in was a little rocky as our room wasn’t ready until about 1/2 hour after we arrived. If we’re expected to check out by the time provided, I expect to also be able to check in by the time provided. Being on the first floor, we could hear absolutely everything going on in the lounge however they did stop the music at 9pm which we appreciated. Lastly, the pillows were a bit uncomfortable but that’s a personal preference.

Great hotel with large room sizes (for the money this isn’t normal in New York). Location was perfect as wasn’t too busy but you’re a short walk to restaurants and shops, and close to the subway.
Would’ve been nice if the restaurant/bar in the hotel was open every day.

Staff were fabulous (especially Juan main door), stylish boutique hotel, great bathroom. Very characterful & personal
That you had to book a seat/table in the lounge bar when open - it got busy when live music on and we didn’t know so had to stand/beg for a seat which as residents thought was a bit odd

The staff were incredible. Cal Betty and Neika at the front desk couldn’t have been more helpful. We booked for our wedding and the hotel upgraded us and left a thoughtful gift and present from the management. Any requests we had they were sorted very quickly. Would absolutely book and stay again

The rooms were spacious and everything worked. The staff was nice. I enjoyed the live music and great location.
The doors. I heard every door closing. The curtains were a little tricky. I would not want to stay on the first floor again because you can hear the music which could be an issue if I wasn’t on the go so much. I would love to stay again on a deal. The price point is above my means but I decided to splurge.

The room was superb, very clean and in excellent condition. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great too! The white noise machine (part of the clock) was a great bonus!
Having stayed in Midtown during previous trips, staying in the Upper West Side was a welcome change. The location is excellent. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from Central Park and Subway stations. Loads of great bars and restaurants close by.
I prefer blackout blinds/curtains. The shades were ok but if you like to sleep in pitch black, consider bringing an eye mask.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is excellent.
Our stay got off on the wrong foot: our room was not available at 3:15pm, even though check-in was at 3, so we had to wait in the lobby. The person at the front desk was very nice, but she was the only person working, and it was a little chaotic. When we got into our room it smelled so strongly of cleaning products that it made our eyes water. We opened the windows and turned on the AC and the smell improved. The real disappointment was the noise: we were in a room on the first floor, which seemed nice because we could avoid the elevator, but as other reviewers have noted, the walls are sound-proofed but the doors to the rooms are not. We could hear people talking in the lobby as well as the music from the piano bar. For a hotel that bills itself as a "luxury" hotel, I would have expected the check-in to be more streamlined and that I would not need to wear ear plugs to sleep.

What an absolutely delightful surprise! This hotel is my new go-to for whenever I return to NYC. The staff is charming and delightful, from the front desk through the service staff. The lobby is subtly chic and the rooms are refreshing and clean, with slight nods to classic NY style.
Although overall my stay was extremely quiet, during my second night I could absolutely hear my neighbor's phone buzzing and him speaking very loudly. But, hey, that's NY, right? I couldn't hear any traffic or excessive noise.

The room and hotel were immaculate and comfortable. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
I think our issue might be with Booking.com that promised a city view. We had a typical Booking.com view of the interior courtyard where the buildings all face one another and the garbage cans are stored. There was definitely no “City view” which was very disappointing. I feel like Booking.com does a bit of bait and switch with some of their promises and I am ready to book on my own after being burnt several times by this company.

text at 12 pm (woke up ) to see if we liked Wallace another text at 3:30 am ! When I complained to front dest they blew me off. Wall leak four hour of noise. Lights very confusing. No ISB ports! Used up shampoo laid it on side in shower Maid put in in an empty coffee up by sink and did not leave more shampoo or conditioner. Did not leave replacement cups in bathroom. For one day only one elevator worked.

good location close to transit. nice neighborhood.
no access to coffee in the morning. you had to leave the hotel to find some. Although there was a coffee machine in the room, the off brand capsules didn't work in the machine.
