We loved our stay in Villa Luce. Communication with Lidija was good, and our early check-in was accommodated without fuss. We were met at the villa and provided with some complementary meat, cheese, pickles, olives and bread from the neighbouring property across the valley, which was delicious. We also bought some fresh eggs from them during our stay. The Villa is finished to an excellent quality and is tastefully decorated. Brilliant aircon throughout. Good sized bedrooms with really comfy beds and bedding/pillows. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing and cooking meals. The outdoor area was fantastic; the pool was a perfect size and temperature, great for having a dip and cooling off! The gym room under the villa was really well equipped. We're keen runners and fitness freaks, so the gym room with the weights, kettlebells, treadmill, and elliptical were spot on. Some may find this villa too remote, but we loved it. You definitely need a car whilst you're staying here as there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance. We hired a car and there was a parking area on the other side of the road to the villa, or there is a garage under the villa which was helpful in keeping the car safe and cool out of the sun. The villa is next to a main road but has suitable gates and electric gates to keep you safe from the traffic. Although the road is fairly quiet traffic wise, some cars do go past very quickly, so you need to be careful around it and when parking in the garage. It is a 15 min drive to Gruda, which has some small supermarkets and nice restaurants. This is more off the tourist trail and a bit more of real Croatia. Cavtat is 30 mins drive away, this is a beautiful town with lots of restaurants and shops. You can park in the harbour car park for €3 p/h and get a boat to Dubrovnik (in 45 mins), we were advised to do this as parking in Dubrovnik can be very expensive.
