Good stay for a single night

Only if you have no other choice

Located near a small river, where you can see platypus when you're lucky. That is the only reason why this accommodation gets two points :D

Hard to find the reception because it's located at the nearby hotel around the corner. Had to ask a woman who lives there to find it, the old reception is no longer in use. The staff was also not very friendly and a bit rude. It's not really clear where to Park the car, because there are no designated parking spots. We slept in the run down Wombat cabin. The whole time the water tap drops and the carpet was moulded. The cabin was also not clean, spider webs every where, dirty bedsheets and it smells horrible. At night it's cold inside the cabin, but if you turn on the electric heater it stinks awfully. The external bathrooms were also dirty and were sometimes blocked for no reason One of the worst Accommodation of our life.

Es un sitio mal mantenido donde un poco de cuidado convertiría el lugar en uno de los mejores sitios donde alojarse en Australia. Las bicicletas no funcionan casi ninguna y están casi abandonadas

Clean and comfortable cabin! But hospitality requires drastic change

I would love to stay at the property again if it was under different management. The cabin, facilities and location were all great.

Unfortunately the welcome we received from the management was really cold and rude. They were also disorganised, and told us repeatedly we didn’t have a booking despite us having a confirmation email. They didn’t pass on any details about the accomodation or make us feel welcome. And it definitely felt like we were getting told off as soon as we entered the property. It was so bad it was actually humorous. I’ve travelled the world staying at many hostels, worst welcome I’ve ever experienced. Don’t want other happy travellers to be caught off guard.

Too expensive for a bed in a hippy village.

The staff person was very helpful and accommodated a change in our booking.

Arrived and did not like the look of the grounds or facilities, especially for the price we paid. Looked run down and like a hippy village. We were not able to cancel our booking. However, the park is managed by the Big 4, and were lucky the reception put us in a cabin for 2 nights for the price of the 3 in the backpacker. So I cannot say if the beds were comfortable or not. It was just the wrong booking for us.

Un bon hostel pour backpacker à côté du port.

Bonne situation géographique vu que le lendemain nous voulions faire la croisière sur la rivière Gorgon. Endroit plutôt propre, coloré, sympathique.

L’hébergement où nous étions était un peux vieux, mériterait un petit rafraîchissement et une meilleure isolation, il faisait froid.

Friendly staff. Beautiful scenery and river running through the property. Good bathrooms.

Probably a touch too pricy for what you get in the cabins but they're cute!

I had a peaceful stay in a nice warm room, that was very very well priced.

The scenery and setting of the accomodation was really lovely, and the amenities around the park were excellent. I was able to hire a bike to take around town while I was in strahan, which was really useful and helped me enjoy my stay a lot more.

There's nothing about the accomodation I could reasonably complain about. Everything met or exceeded my expectations.

Exceptional

The location was great, the manager was very kind. It was off peak season, very quiet and peaceful, I was allowed an upgrade and it was a wonderful surprise. The grounds are well kept and it's a lovely place. Cafe and take away food adjacent, I don't drink but a bottle shop was also adjacent. Great advice and very helpful staff.

I can't complain.

affordable, close to the town and very practical parking

The place is close to nature and affordable. There are many shared bathrooms, so you never have to wait for someone using it.

our checking in was after 5pm, so they just left the keys in the mailbox for us. The issue was that we didn't have towels at our room (they give them to you when you check in in person), and because we had activities during the day , we left early and were back late, so we never met the staff, and therefore we never had our towels. It's more like a self-service place to be honest.

The state of the bathroom… missing Lino, rotten floor. Completely past it’s use by date.

Great would definitely stay here again in future.

Great location. Quiet. A frame cabins are adorable with some positive messages written on the wall giving this place a nice vibe.

Check in process was a bit confusing. Long story short, I had to go to Big4 reception to check in which hadn’t been communicated to me prior to arrival.

very small room; no wifi, though it was supposed to work. very confusing just to find reception - business seems to have been taken over/amalgamated but names have not been rationalised - needs to be sorted

Willingness to transfer my booking that I had inadvertently made for the wrong week. Availability of kayak and bike hire. Spacing of buildings so it doesn't feel crammed and noisy

It would be good for the kitchen to have storage space for non-perishables

great location

Staff and booking. I had looked around online. Went to actually see the place and the girl at the counter rudely told me fully booked out. left and went back to booking.com and booked another place. Turned out to be the same place. she had key and everything waiting when it was supposedly fully booked out. Whats really upsetting is there was no where else to stay for 100’s of kilometres. 🤷‍♂️. The place is actually ok, just book online prior to arrival
