Nice stay, excellent location and rooms

Location within Castle, 10/10, close to everything (if you overcome the Parking problem, which was not problem at least during our stay). Quite area, comfortable sleep, you don't even know that you are in a crowded city. Rooms 10/10, beatiful and cosy and spacious and modern, warm, hot water, big bathroom, hair dryer/small fridge, big TV!. Hotel outdoor and indoor common areas are superb. Hosts are kind and understanding. Good morning Coffee. Small number of rooms, so not crowded.

Breakfast... Time served was only 8:00 - 10:00, clould start 1 hour earlier (for elder people) and finish 1 hour later (for younger people). We had cold pre-boilt eggs from the fridge, there were some small platters with 2 kind of pie (salty and sweet) + 1 type of biscuit + cake (all were tiny six-6-one-bite/pre-cut pieces spaced in the plate, they were filled-up immediately but still... I felt almost shy to take one and the impression for a 140€+/night stay was not good). Some cereals in again small plates, yogurt and milk, 4-5 slices of cheese and ham in a plate to make a toast (again, it felt somehow uncomfortable, we were a group of 5 and we almost emptied this), 2 kind of commercial juice and commercial small portions of marmelade and butter and honey (toast bread only to be used).... I understand the "no-waist" philosophy maybe, but still, with a little effort I think the Breakfast would meet higher and "just to the price" standards (prepare eggs per request or option for an omelette or fresh bread and marmelade and honey, or 1 homemade pie served per table or some traditional cheese and fresh bakery or homemade cake). Because the breakfast buffet is somehow in a limited space, a service to provide preselected breakfast to the room (small number of rooms) would be also an idea, or to serve the basics per table and not have this buffet type.

Best place to stay in Ioannina

We returned after one year - and it’s still one of my favorite hotels in the world. Wonderful rooms, charming location and the best hosts one can imagine. We will definitely return next year!

A very nice hotel owned and runned by two very helpful brothers, specialy when i needed medical attention. The hotel has an excelent ubication in the old city and steps away from the city center and lake area. We are very thankful to the ow ers and strongly recomend this hotel.

excellent place, great family staff, superb value for money.

this place is only a small boutique hotel within the castle walls, all very newly renovated and is excellent, run by the family who are superb in every way. should definitely recommend.

there’s nothing to not like about the place, if I was really backed into a corner to make any sort of gripe , then it would be there is No coffee making facilities in the room , however there is a coffee machine in reception. ( so not a complaint really)

My personal top in Ioannina!

extremely convenient location inside the old Town castle. super hospitable owners always willing to provide any type of info including town's hot spots. they also provided a parking slot for us inside the castle (parking can be a nightmare in Ioannina). the rooms are excellent and probably amongst the top 5 of ioannina

Best Place to Stay in Ioannina

Amazing hotel, which I would highly recommend. Exceeded our expectations. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with local tips and recommendations. The room was very clean and spacious. One of the best hotels I have stayed in within Greece. Super comfortable and warm. The breakfast had lots of options including many greek homemade dishes which were delicious. It was excellent value for money and we will definitely visit again. High quality and exceptional service.

Everything exceeded our expectations. We found it impossible to find an issue. We highly recommend it.

Authentically run boutique guest house managed with love by local brothers

Tastefully and beautifully designed boutique guest house in the unique village inside the castle of Ioannina. The two brothers George and Marius manage the property (newly built next to their family home) with love that can only come from authenticity and a passion for hospitality. They went out of their way to make suggestions for our stay and even offered to pick up local sweets from an out of the way specialty shop for us to bring back home for a Greek friend. Our stay was perfect.

Nothing could have been better, challenges like parking (via a parking pass) and an early checkout were handled easily and gracefully by our hosts.

Autumn weekend for two.

Very nice hotel in the middle of the old castle with a family feeling. Quick and friendly service with a focus to make our stay as good as possible.

A coat hanger by the entrance in our executive double space suite would have been convenient but other than that was the stay perfect!

Wonderful hosts, wonderful place to stay. I'd go back again in a heart beat.

The hotel is located within the castle and was a little tricky to get to using google maps. Parking inside the castle was tight but our hosts, Marius and George, were exceptional! They moved their own car and scooter to make our parking easier and then were a rich source of suggested activities. Being in the old town, and in the castle, was a perfect location!

Very nice hotel in excellent location and with amazing and helpful staff

The hotel is really nice, clean and comgortable and near all restaurants and sighseing. Breakfast is yammi with local, home made pies and cakes. The staff/owners are super friendly and helpful. An excellent choice when you travel to Ioannina.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful place, run by lovely people…

Fantastic ‘boutique’ hotel right in the heart of the castle boundaries. Perfectly located for the quietude afforded and a short walk to the thriving metropolis of the town. The hotel is entirely new, built in the old style by two passionate brothers Marius and George, who were also exceptional hosts. Excellent value for money, wonderful breakfast (lots of home made treats courtesy of Mama) and ideally located for all Ionninha has to offer. We wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Love this gem in the old town!

Love this gem in the old town. Rooms are super comfy and with love to Details furnished. Absolutely the nicest hosts we had so far! super friendly and competent, even accompanied us to a liquor store. Great place to stay and take daily tours to Dodoni and other great visits. We will definitely return again. Highly recommended, A+++

Perfect location

Perfect location with very friendly and helpful family that runs the hotel. Home made products ensure thar the breakfast is a good start into the day. The hotel is beautiful, built with love and passion for details. Only few minutes walking distance to all sights, lake and restaurants. We can highly recommend to stay at this gem in Ioannina.

Everything was more than perfect. For us, it was the best ever accommodation we had in Greece!

The hotel is located inside the Castle (old town), in a very quiet area. Everything is new!The owners are very kind and helpfully, the rooms are spectacular, very clean, very huge, with nice view, with things of high quality, the garden is amazing, all products from breakfast are very tasted - homemade pie & sweets. The bathroom looks very nice, also and is very big. The acces to the hotel is very easy, there are free parking near the hotel.

Ideal location, castle experience, with a family host.

Giorgios and Mario were the textbook definition of Greek filotimo. The attention to detail and oversight they invested in building this hotel is only matched by the same detail in hosting their guests and treating as an extension of their family, and coincidentally enough their family resides in the adjacent building - which should tell you, how passionate and quick they are to take care of their property and guests.

I highly recommend this amazing hotel!

The entire hotel is an absolute gem inside the fantastic castle of Ioannina. Everything related to breakfast, staff, hotel accommodation, cleanliness, and decoration is perfect! Most importantly, the owners, George and Marios, are the kindest, most helpful, and politest gentlemen who went out of their way to give us information about the beautiful city of Ioannina.

The place to stay in Ioannina

Located right in the center of the old town, in a beautiful new building with very good facilities, and extremely helpful staff. This is the place to stay in Ioannina. The breakfast included everything one can desire. You can find everything in the room starting with a small welcome drink and candy from the owners, comfortable beds, great view, etc.

Beautiful small hotel at a perfect location

Castrello is located in a quiet neighbourhood within the castle walls of Ioannina, just minutes away (walking) from the lake, historic sites and many nice restaurants. The owners Marios and Giorgos were very friendly and helpful. They offered us very useful information about Ioannina and recommended nice places to visit. They also gave us a parking permit that allowed us to park our car in the castle, near the hotel. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and included many traditional pies made by the owners’ mother. The next time we visit Ioannina we will definitely stay there again.

The hospitality of the owners is just outstanding. As well as homemade breakfast. We got great tips what to see in the town. Hotel itself is very cozy and stylish. The location as well just perfect.
