Remodeled Cayuga Lake Cottage - nice yard & waterfront, near Treleaven winery
About this cottage rental
Nestled in Cayuga Lake, this charming cottage for $462 per night is a great choice for your next break. Located on a quiet side road 30 min from Ithaca and 5 min from Treleaven Winery, our four season lakehouse is ideal for family time at the lake or a romantic getaway. The house is comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. With a sunny flat yard, hot tub, deck, new lakeside shack, kayaks, long dock, shady grass patio by the water, fire pit and rec room, there are lots of spaces to spread out. We face the afternoon sun and sunsets, and have deep, clear water. Sit by the lake and feel your blood pressure drop! New pictures coming in May... Our cottage was built in 1951 and is 1100 square feet. We bought it in 2020 and spent over a year and a half remodeling every room, converting the wood floor garage into a recreation room, and building a new lakeside shack by the shore. We've tried for the "looks like its always been there" design approach and used sustainable materials and energy options. The living room looks out to the lake with a large window and is open the kitchen. It has ductless heat pump/air conditioning and a pellet stove. The kitchen is fully supplied, including a dishwasher. Next to the living room is a dining area and den/TV room, which has a new high quality queen size sleeper sofa and curtains to create privacy. The main bedroom has a new queen size bed and a large window facing the lake, and the second bedroom has two twin size beds with new mattresses. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination and there is a washer and dryer. We have drinkable filtered well water. In the back yard we have a hot tub and a new deck with a table, chairs and gas grill. The flat yard is a nice place for yard games and we have a fire pit with supplied wood. There are about twenty steps to reach the shoreline area, which is very few compared with most Cayuga lake properties. The converted recreation room has a ping pong table, couch and chair, "vintage" boombox, and board games. At the shore there is a nice shady area in the summer for sitting and the new shack with a mini fridge, cozy/romantic lighting, couch and table. The dock extends out to a deep section of the lake and is wonderful for jumping into the water. We have kayaks, paddle boards and life vests for guests to use. (Not available late Nov. through April for cold water safety)

The photos don't do this cottage justice. All rooms but one bedroom face the lake. Great sunsets. Very comfortable!

Really beautiful, clean cottage for a peaceful getaway, with a breathtaking view. Unfortunately, due to instances beyond anyone's control, we had to leave after one night. Adam, the property manage was AMAZING in the situation, and honestly throughout the whole booking expereince, leading up to check in, and during our stay. He called, texted, messaged and was so accomodating and friendly. We were sad we had to leave, but I would recommend the property to others.

Such a nice little lake house. There was nothing that we needed, that we didn’t have. Super smooth and enjoyable stay. Beautiful view!!

5 stars for sure. Great comfortable, clean, fully stocked and fantastic location. This is the perfect getaway location. Host was very kind even called us to tell us the house was ready early so feel free to go in early. That’s simply thoughtful. We will certainly be back.

This little house by Cayuga was PERFECT for our family of 5! We fished, kayaked, sat in the sun, played games, had a ping-pong tournament and ate many meals together. The views from the cottage are great! The mini cottage down by the dock is great when it rains a bit. Adam responded whenever we had questions. We all want to come back again!

The home is lovely and well appointed making for a comfortable vacation in a special setting. The evident recent updates have been done with style and good taste. The kitchen is complete with new appliances and well stocked with quality wares. After a day of lake fun, we were able to enjoy some TV time. The set up allows one to sign in to their own streaming account as we did on Netflix. Among the many modern ammenities you will find very efficient and quiet air conditioners and family size washer/dryer. The week went by too fast and it was difficult to say goodbye.

We had an amazing time staying at Adam’s place. He was very responsive and tended to our needs whenever necessary. We couldn’t have imagined a better place to spend our vacation. The place had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable, spacious, and the spa and views were amazing. We would highly recommend this place to friends and family. It was an absolute dream. Thanks again Adam for making our stay so memorable.

Excellent property. A few minor issues. 1. It would be helpful to have a better explanation as to how to get the pellet stove, the various indoor heaters, and the hot tub on and off. I am an engineer but could not figure it out. 2. Please keep bug spray. The bugs were swarming in the front and back. 3. Get an icemaker or stock the freezer with a bag of ice. Otherwise, great! The property manager was nice enough to give us a late checkout on my girlfriend's birthday. Thanks.

This was my first little getaway as a single mom with my 4 children and it was perfect. The house was exactly as described and pictures aside from not having a blender at the house. It really wasn’t a big deal for us, however, we are big smoothie drinkers so bought stuff to make. Adam was extremely accommodating and dropped a blender off at the house the next day. We really enjoyed the property and spent A LOT of our time down by the dock and shoreline searching for sea glass. My little guy is 2.5 and he could have stayed at the shoreline all day. It’s a small rock filled shoreline but big enough to hang out at all day. We made a fire and had s’mores a couple of the nights and really enjoyed the hot tub after hiking each day. The location really wasn’t bad there is a corner store minutes down the road and Ithaca is about a half hour drive to all the shops and restaurants. We did some hiking at local parks (buttermilk falls, Ludlowville falls, and montezuma wildlife drive). Overall our stay was amazing and the perfect first little getaway as a family of 5. We are thinking of making this an annual thing!

My mother, sister and young son had a really nice weekend at the house. It was very clean and had everything you needed. The beds were comfortable. The view of the lake from the big living room windows was beautiful.
Our host was very responsive to all of our needs and questions that arose. Would definitely stay again.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The cleanliness is superb and it is so comfortable. It is right on the waterfront and has all the amenities you could possibly want. The attention to detail to make you feel as welcome as possible is beyond expectations. Due to weather we couldn’t take advantage of everything but it made us want to go back at a warmer time. The bed and pillows in the master are very comfortable and the view is indescribably beautiful. Adam, the host, is very nice and responsive to any needs you have. You can’t go wrong at this property.

My wife and I enjoyed our 25th wedding anniversary here and everything was just perfect. Sitting by the fire pit and seeing the blanket of stars was just amazing. The jacuzzi was great. The property is very well maintained and clean, the house was really great and we are already planning our next trip with our kids

Comfortable, updated cottage but owners have kept the old cottage feel with pine porch dining room. Great location to Ithaca, bike trails, sunsets.

We had a wonderful time staying at this cottage on the lake. The location is perfect! The property and cottage are exactly as pictured and make for a relaxing vacation. The kayaks are a lot of fun, and the dock is a beautiful place to take in the sunset views. In addition, the fishing on the lake is amazing! It was very exciting for our two boys to be able to catch a variety of fish so easily right off the dock. It's very nice that Treleaven Winery and the King Ferry Corner store are so close. They are both worth a visit. The woodfired pizza at Aurora Brewery is good too. Adam was a helpful and responsive host and we would be happy to stay at this cottage again.

We traveled in July of 2022 w/ my wife, our 18-month-old and another couple. Everything was awesome! The views of the lake, the deck in the backyard where we ate dinner every night when we didn't go out, the new hot tub, smokeless fire pit, the kayaks, the shack by the lake to keep your belongings and your beer cold :), the dock which is where we spent most of our time sunbathing and jumping in the lake, etc. Super nice to get away from the suburbs life as everything was quiet and peaceful on Cayuga Lake. The mornings were beautiful and the sunsets were the best!
Adam's communication was great as there we no surprises! We were there when King Ferry, NY was in the middle of a drought and Adam brought us drinking water for the entire week. We had to watch our water use as their well was dry but made it work just fine. The fridge does take a little bit to keep your groceries/beer cold but he gave us the heads up there.
We ventured out to Treleaven Wines, Bright Leaf Vineyard (Amazing views), Aurora Brew Co. (Amazing views) and Cream at the Top (Ice Cream) and would have definitely gone back if we were there longer.
We certainly recommend anyone to vacation here but be sure to book early as I hear places on the lake sell out by February for the summer.

Lake life was lovely
Adam was a gracious host and provided a wonderful experience for our first girlfriend getaway in a few years. The house was lovely, had everything we needed to kick back, relax, and make some new memories together. We are already making plans to return to this cozy cottage on the lake.

The Best Stay!
This property was amazing. My fiancé and I were looking for a quiet weekend to get a much needed change of pace. This lovely little cottage was that and more. It was so quiet and peaceful. The home is well stocked with everything you need. There are so many lovely areas to just sit and enjoy being outdoors, read, and relax. The kayaks were awesome!! We had a great last adventure taking them around the shore line. The hot tub was also a nice little bonus after a long day. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back next summer!

Perfect little cottage on the lake.
We can't say enough about how great this little cottage was! The property was updated and clean and had so many areas to enjoy. It was perfect for a family getaway. The lakeside boat house, Rec room, fire pit, and the back deck are all wonderful features that help make this cottage amazing. The swimming and fishing off the dock were great too (caught lots of yellow perch). We even enjoyed bathing in the lake ;). Thanks for everything Adam (great communication with the owner)!
