Lots of books for holiday reading and some games and puzzles for an idyllic quiet afternoon. Plenty of parking on this large bush block. Lots of stunning bush and beach walks to blow your cares away. The township is quite level, so ideal for riding your bike to the beach and on some of the bush trails. A bumpy 3km drive (or uphill walk) will take you through the forest to the South of mystery bay, to 1080 beach where you will have spectacular views of the coast. Access this via the forest road off Lamont Young Drive. Mystery Bay is a small community nestled between state forest, farmland and the sea. Only 2km off the Pacific Highway, it is the jewel in the crown of the Sapphire Coast, with forest and beach walks and stunning sunsets over Gulaga mountain. There are no shops in Mystery Bay but there are boutiques, dairies and wineries at nearby Central Tilba, and essentials shopping in Narooma, about 10km to the north Easy walk around the neighbourhood, with plenty of off-street parking The house is about a 3 minute walk to the State forest that encompasses Mystery Bay, and across the road, the sun sets over Gulaga mountain, a sacred mountain for the Yuin people of southern New South Wales. A 10 min drive will take you to the cosy township of Central Tilba where there is a market on Saturday mornings in the local hall, and a dairy at the bottom of the hill (milkshakes for the kids) and the pub at the top, where there is live music on a Sunday afternoon (for the whole family), and a myriad of boutiques and other delights in between. To the north is the township of Narooma, where you can find a Woolies and Aldi, for groceries and other supplies. There's even a mobile fishmonger! Note that phone coverage is patchy at best in Mystery Bay, so do not rely on it, but the wi-fi at the house is strong. If you're driving up the coast road from Melbourne, bear in mind that filling up with petrol at Lake's Entrance or Orbost will ensure you make it the whole way without any dramas!

Travelling from the UK, Spotted Gum was an excellent spot to slow down and catch up with ourselves. The local beach has safer pool areas and Central Tilba was a delight

This was our second visit. Ideal for our furry friends. A short stroll to Mystery Bay beach. Very homely older style house, comfy beds, updated bathrooms. Enjoyed the rustic feel of this home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute house in Mystery Bay. It was very serene, with mature Gum trees all around. The beach was also great and just a short stroll away. The kitchen was well equipped, and the kids also found some games to keep them entertained.

Lovely property, well maintained. Check in instructions from the owner were prompt and clear. Property had everything we needed, including toys for the kids (3yo and 5 yo) and even included extra mini toiletries, in case you had forgotten your own. Loved our visit.
