The property was like it was listed, great location and beautiful by the riverside. My friends and I had a great stay at the cottage!

The road in to the cottage was well marked and easy to navigate. We had clear instructions upon check in and check out. The cottage was tidy, clean, well organized and the kitchen was well stocked with condiments/necessities. The kids loved the variety of board games, fire pit for hanging out around/roasting marshmallows and water toys available. We appreciated the number of charging stations and consistency of internet. There are 3 bedrooms, not 4 and we’re confused by the listing. The depth of the river was great - we enjoyed the ease at which we could swim and dive. The wrap around deck, outside eating area and hot tub were an absolute hit!

We had a lovely stay. The cottage is cozy and rustic and nicely decorated. The river and forest is quiet and relaxing. The kayaks were fun and the hot tub and deck were fantastic. Great lake views! It is also a quick drive into town for dinner, shopping, the beach and ice cream. We would love to come back!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the most charming cottage, nestled in the loving embrace of nature. Let me tell you, it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we stepped inside. It's just a perfect getaway indeed.

We had a great time staying at this property. The cottage was sparkling clean, cosy, there are LOTS of indoor and outdoor games for every age, a fully equipped kitchen and the hot tub overlooking the river is a really nice bonus. Neil was very responsive to the questions we had before ans during our stay.

Neil was a great host. The kitchen was well stoked. The hot tub was the highlight. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We loved the perfectly organized space of this beautiful cottage. Everything is neat and tidy and instructions for TV, hot tub and even garbage and recycling are all very well laid out for easy use. We are definitely thinking of renting here again. Thank you for being amazing hosts!

We had an amazing 3 days at Neil’s cottage. The property is quiet and beautiful and had everything we needed. The river and dock is a beautiful place to sit.There are walking trails nearby and towns close if we needed anything. There were 6 of us and had lots of room for relaxing and sleeping arrangements. Nice touch with the snacks left for us and cottage was well stocked. Will definitely want to go back in the warmer summer months Thank you Neil!

Overall we had a good stay! The cottage is well equipped, the setting is nice, hot tub and kayaks were fun but things could have been better! When we arrived the garbage bin was partly filled with rotting garbage and the grass hadn't been cut for some time. Inside we found poorly cleaned stained cups, dirty frying pans. The cottage is surficially clean but not cleaned well. The garbage/recycling system is complicated/poorly defined and when you first use the toilet you're greeted, for the first time, by a wall poster outlining fines for various garbage bag/ recycling infractions. Bedding, towels, pillows are not supplied and a couple items that were listed as supplied were absent. In conclusion a nice cottage but a bit more attention to detail would make it better!

We enjoyed our week-long stay Aug 2022. The hosts were great. A Nice clean cottage. The river was calm and great for kayaking, paddle boating, and some early morning fishing off the dock fishing. We'll organized by the hosts. Kitchen was well stocked for anything we needed to cook. Beds were comfortable. Lots and lots of great games. The raised deck and Hot tub was great for relaxing watching the river go by after a busy day. Short drives to Coboconk, Fenlon Falls, Balsam Conservation Area Beach, and Bobcaygeon. The hosts were wonderful. Very clear communication and responsive. The cottage is more on the rustic side, but comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, and hot tub! The scenery was beautiful, and the river was perfect for kayaking and swimming.

Having the Burnt River in the backyard was great. You can kayak in either direction for hours and see all sorts of fun things. The cottage felt very "home-y" and my kids had a great time. Bring your bikes and go for a ride on the gravel roads! Take a short drive to Fenelon Falls to see the lock operate. Even though I live near the Welland canal, seeing this smaller lock in action was still fun. Or find the Victorial Rail Trail and read about its history from over 100 years ago! Lots to see, do and learn on this vacation.

Such a great place to stay. Gorgeous view of the river. Kids loved swimming, fishing, pedal boat, kayaks. We caught some Little Rock bass! Even the dog enjoyed some sun on the dock. Hot tub was a big hit, and then a fire at night. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. Big screen and wifi was perfect for a movie when it rained one night. Close to town, (we went for coffee in the mornings while the kids were still asleep). Loved it all. Thanks Neil and Shanna!

We had a relaxing weekend on Burnt Lake. The cottage was the perfect size and had a great deck and yard for outdoor activities. The river was too cold for a dip, but we loved sitting on the dock with our feet in the water enjoying the sunshine. Neil was very proactive with his communication and there was lots of information at the cottage for using the amenities. Thanks for a great weekend!

If you are looking for a real rustic cottage but all the comforts of home this cabin is perfect… it was clean, organized and the owners special touches made you fall into your relaxing vacation with ease. The dock on the river is wonderfully beautiful, peaceful and private.. only thing you see is the river flow and the glorious pines that sit along the rivers edge.... the fire pit was perfectly placed to enjoy private nights by the water.. the deck is spacious and hot tub is a touch of luxury while still being immersed in nature.. please go kayaking and canoeing along this river for a truly unique experience. .. if you love to fish bring your gear!
