We truly enjoyed ourselves at The End of The Rainbow. It's comfortable and in a great location. It fit our family of seven perfectly. Andy is a great communicator! He was also very flexible and kind about the check in and check out times. If we're ever in Dunnellon again, we would definitely stay at this home!

This place was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We throughly enjoyed the house. It was the perfect location to everything. The view of the river is fantastic from several windows in the house. Our granddaughter caught her first fish from the dock in the park. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! A+

I absolutely loved this place. It was beautiful, scenic and comfortable. The only thing we don't like was the bedrooms didn't have TVs in them and my kids were creeped out by this crawl space room that had a desk with two Polaroids on it and a butter knife. They thought it was creepy. Beyond that it was amazing and definitely recommend

We enjoyed the place however the place was not cleaned recently, there was cob webs everywhere had to clean some of them. That was our only problem. House was very stocked with everything that was needed. View was great. House is perfect for large family gatherings. Just make sure cleaning crew comes in before guest to insure that it doesn’t look like it has been empty for while.

Had a great time at the Rainbow River and the Palmetto house was very accommodating for my family. Thanks!

The house literally backs up to a wonderful swimming hole and for $2 pp a day, you can just walk down to the rainbow River. It was a perfect spot for us. The house is quirky, I had to look for the extra bedrooms (they are downstairs. Behind doors that aren’t super obvious). The kitchen and house are well stocked. I will definitely come back. Andy could not have been nicer nor more accommodating.

We had a great time and the hosts were very accommodating. The house is a great location, only 5 minutes from Swampys restaurant as well as the park that is free to drop you paddle board. The downside was there is a state park right behind the house and they do not allow you to drop a paddle board, canoe or kayak and they charge $2 per person just to enter. The house has great kayaks, floats, etc, but without a truck to transport them, they are of no use.

Location was wonderful! House was beautiful and clean! There were alligators in the area so weren't able to swim. But found beautiful springs very close by and enjoyed those

Overall our stay was great. The property manager was very helpful, the location was great, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the cleanliness. The house was “dirty” necessarily, it just wasn’t cleaned very well. I’ve spoken with the property manager about the issues and he already started clearing them up so I’m not going into detail but I feel confident that the next person to stay will have zero complaints going forward.

And he went above, and beyond to make sure he was the best host that he could possibly be! After going back-and-forth through messages, I realized that this was more than just a business opportunity for him. He truly wanted to make sure that we were going to be in a place where positive family memories could be made.
If we ever end up back in Dunnellon, this is where we would stay!

We had so much fun. The house is quirky and comfortable. VRBO beds are never comfortable, but I kid you not I took a picture of the mattress I slept on so I can go home and buy one. The house was spotlessly clean. I appreciated having space to bring my dogs, and a very secure yard.
Now for the good stuff...
Wow! This house is "so awesome!" as my kids and husband kept telling me every day we stayed. The master bedroom is HUGE!! It's right on a park on the river. The view is gorgeous. We actually ended up laughing a quilt on the floor in front of the bedroom in the window and lazing around watching the river after a long day of paddling and getting sunbaked. While investigating, it looked like we were across the street, but no. You are right on the river. (It's a public park, but you have a great view). The park closes quite early and opens a little late, so you have a private quiet view for the majority of the day. We sat on the porch every morning and evening watching the river.
If you are a serious paddler, I recommend putting in at the state park (only $2 a person!) Vs KP Hole ($28 for 4 people!) You can pull right up to the boat ramp at KP Hole, but you have to walk quite a distance carrying your gear at the state park. If you are paddling every day, walking your gear is worth it. Plus, Andy has the kayak carts you can use. There's also a little wagon down there that we used on one day to take a cooler to the state park. We aired up the tires for you.
Take out at Blue Run. Super easy and FREE! But get a parking spot early because it fills up quickly.
The house is less than a mile from Blue Run. And it's very close to done great restaurants. We recommend Lugo's. REAL Cuban food. It was so delicious! Can only restaurant. They have an ATM
Andy was super communicative, but not intrusively so. So very helpful. We felt so welcome and I knew if we needed anything Andy was easy to get to. We will have to come back. Thank you Andy and Heather!

My partner and I and our dog loved our stay here! The place has everything you would need for a short or long stay within it, and it was very clean. The backyard is a small little area that is enclosed completely, and the larger area beyond the yard is a small public park. The park does not allow pets and charges $2 per person (not worth it at all in my opinion), but we were able to bring our dog in during the week, as nobody was actually in the booth at the front of the park except for on the weekend. There are tons of things to do around the place as well. We went swimming with manatees in Crystal River, went to Rainbow Springs State Park, and walked with our dog through a variety of different trails and natural areas. Everything was beautiful and super relaxing to just enjoy nature. To top it all off, Andy is an amazing host, was super responsive, and gave us a ton of information about things to do nearby. I highly recommend staying here and will stay again if I'm ever wanting to experience the nature side of Florida!

We visit the greater Crystal River area every spring to enjoy a little interaction with the manatees and diving in the various caverns and rivers in the area. This year we rented Andrew's property in Dunnellon and hoped for the best.
Well for starters, Andrew, unlike so many of the "Rent it and Forget it" VRBO crowd, actually took the time to write a personal email welcoming us to his property. He also gave us a ton of information from check-in to check-out, and a lot of local activities as well.
His home was clean, the location pretty nice, and the description quite accurate - we hope to be back!
I highly recommend.Andrew and his Dunnellon property!

Wonderful river view home
We had an awesome time staying here for my daughters 15th birthday. The house is in an excellent location and close to all activities. It is a very short drive to go tubing on the Rainbow River or to put in kayaks at the Blue Run Park. Nice neighborhood. We loved the view of the river from the balcony and there was plenty of room for everyone. The girls enjoyed the beach at the city park. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Funnellon/Rainbow river
What a great little home at the end of the Rainbow! Andrew was super responsive, check in was a breeze. Plenty of room for grandkids, and the extra kayaks and stand up board were an addition we didn't expect. The little park with swimming area was perfect. Enjoyed just sitting on the deck in the early mornings before it was too hot, and the evenings watching boats go by and wildlife. We will be back ! Thanks again!

2022 Memorial Day weekend stay review (5 people (2 adults, 3 teens))
Overall we were very pleased with our stay here. The house is located in a nice quiet neighborhood and is located closely to everything you need for your stay; Walmart, Publix, Swampys and other local restaurants, Blue Run park for launching kayaks/paddleboards. The city park is located just outside the back door and even on Memorial Day weekend it doesn't get very crowded, nice option to cool off in the river for $2.00/person although you can't launch any kayaks or paddleboards there --- closest is Blue Run, just a 2 minute drive up the road but come prepared and arrive early as it has limited parking. The owners of this property are super nice and very responsive. The house had everything we needed for our stay, just a quick trip to the grocery store and we were covered for the weekend. I will say while the property can technically sleep six it's a bit of a stretch. There is a queen size bed in the main bedroom and two small children's beds in the front bedroom so for a typical family of 4 it works quite well, anymore than that and you have to use the couch in the loft upstairs or an air mattress. We have a fold up queen memory foam mattress we use for such situations so again just be prepared and be sure to read all the details about this property before you book to ensure it's something that will work for you. Check in and out were super easy and ooverall we were very pleased with our stay and I'll mention again how great the owners of it are. There aren't a lot of places to rent on the Rainbow and there's a good chance we'll return to this one in the future.

Rainbow River House
Excellent communication from the owner prior to arriving, and most importantly very welcoming for pets. I had my two dogs with me and it was so nice to stay at a house whose owner didn't just tolerate dogs but welcomed them. Very nice secure yard for the dogs to play in. Highly recommend.
