A small group of us rented the beach house to relax and enjoy our National Convention on Island time. We termed our stay #IndyOnTheIsland because the actual convention was in Indianapolis, Indiana. We had a blast. I just wish we could have had better views of the beach and a mobile garage door opener. Other than that, all was well. The home was beautiful, well stocked, & everything, including the elevator functioned nicely. The check in process was handled with ease and the young lady that checked me in answered my every question. The property greeted us with wine and a cheese and crackers welcome basket, which was received as such a lovely gesture. We loved BeachTown and will gladly select the property for future rentals.

The elderly man that runs the sales center treated me very badly. I came by for a key card to access the pool, and he very rudely told me to come back in an hour because there was only one person who could make the key card, and she had more important things to do. This was after another person there said to come by in the 10 minutes for it. Meanwhile, my friend and our two very hot and tired 7 years olds were made to stand in the sun (during an excessive heat warning no less) while I was being thrown out of the sales center by the boss. I haven't been treated that poorly since I can remember. The communication is pretty bad as well. They send you 20 emails about your booking, but the important information is not clear. One email said "here is your digital key, with a link that doesn't work." Then you get a call asking where you are the day of arrival if you aren't there right when they open. Just be prepared to be on their schedule. I was going to let the rest of this go, but since they decided to treat me like trash, I'll just be honest about the entire experience. The house is fine. Not great. There is no wine fridge or working ice maker. They tell you not to touch the blinds so they are up the entire time. This is great if you like people to be able to see in while you are dressing at night, and for the hot sun to heat up the house all day. Also, temp is set so high you sweat all day and night. You can't fix it. Never returning.

Beachtown is a beautiful and interesting place to stay-our second visit over the years. This occasion was for the Tall Ship Festival and the dry dock tour of the Battleship Texas. Everything functioned well except the ice maker, which was only a minor inconvenience. Porch Cafe food was good but service still has room for improvement.

The location was great. It's away from the old developments in Galveston. The townhome we rented was very nice. It had all the kitchen utensils, pans and plates needed. Including a keurig. The elevator was a bonus so we didn't have to carry our luggage up the stairs. The development is similar to Rosemary Beach and Seaside but it's only 30% built out. The only negative about this development is that they will not allow renters to use the boardwalk walk over to access the beach. They make you walk up the road to the public access area. I was very upset about this because we rented chairs and umbrellas from them and they were placed in front of the walk over. So we had to carry all of our beach gear and food a little over half of a mile to get to our chairs when it could have been less than a quarter mile walk. We have rented a Rosemary Beach 4 times and we were always given the access code to the walkovers. Because of this poor customer service, we will not be going back to this development.

The townhome and community were beautiful, peaceful, and felt very safe- just what we wanted. It reminded us of a town from a Hallmark movie. We enjoyed walking to the beach, the pool and around the neighborhood. Because of the beautiful high ceilings on each level, there are a lot of stairs inside the townhome. The elevator was not working when we arrived. The manager tried to have it fixed but it needed replacement of a part and wasn’t able to be repaired while we were there. Regardless, we loved the townhome and community and will be returning soon.
