Originally built in 1886, this home has been a well-loved Wianno area summer home for well over a century. Its proximity to Dowses Beach and Osterville village center make it a very desirable location. The home was completely renovated top to bottom between 2020-2021, so our home has all the modern comforts that make a vacation that much more enjoyable. The new kitchen is open to the dining and bar area, to make family time more convenient. The casual high top table and wet bar face a big screen TV, making it a perfect place to watch the Red Sox and enjoy a meal. You will notice two more living rooms on the first floor, as well as a powder room. At the front of a house is the smaller TV den, and on the side is the large and more formal living room with loveseats and a piano. The wraparound porch is a great place to read a book or enjoy a cocktail. The first floor mudroom is ideal for kicking off your shoes and hanging up your beach towels. Beyond the mudroom is a private ‘apartment’ with a Queen-sized bed, full bath, and private front patio with separate entrance. The second floor contains another 4 bedrooms, a laundry area, and a large family/ TV room. The front two bedrooms share a full bath in the hallway. One of these rooms contains a Queen bed, and the other contains a King with a porch. The remaining two bedrooms on the second floor are both ensuite. One has a Queen bed, and the one which is considered the ‘primary’ bedroom contains a King bed, full bath, and walk-in closets. The third floor of the home contains two small rooms, with 3 twin beds total. From the sliding doors off the dining area, you can access the stone patio and grill area. The large, grassy area for lawn games. The separate guest house contains two bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchenette, and living area. The back sliders lead to an outdoor shower. About the area: Osterville is a picturesque Cape Cod village peacefully located on Nantucket Sound, on the south side of Barnstable. The quaint village center boasts dozens of shops, restaurants and small businesses, and is a lovely place to spend an afternoon stroll. Grab lunch at Wimpy's for classic seafood, Crisp Flatbread for tasty pizza and pasta, or The Chart Room for a cocktail with a view. Surrounding the downtown are charming residential neighborhoods with tree-lined streets and stunning, classic Cape architecture to observe. You can find a body of water almost anywhere you turn in Osterville. Dowses Beach is the beloved beach on East Bay Road, where families enjoy sunny days on the Nantucket Sound side, or a more tranquil scene on the East Bay side. Boating is a fan-favorite pastime in Osterville, and the village has the marinas and bays to support it. If you have never been to Osterville, you are sure to fall in love with its timeless charm.
