About this cottage rental

Licence: STR-000126 There is something magical that happens when you gather together with close family and friends at a waterfront cottage. Memories are made. Laughter is heard. Good food is enjoyed. And all the noise of every day life disappears, if only for a while. Windpoint Cottage is truly a special place to be. It has the charm of yesteryear with a newly renovated kitchen and lots of space to hang out. The living room is definitely the heart of this well-cared for cottage with its spectacular stone fireplace (not operational) and a cathedral ceiling. To the left of the living room you'll find the dining area. Dining here is a lovely experience as you'll be able to gaze across the lawn and to the water through the walls of windows. This property works great for two families. It sleeps 8 people in total (6 adults maximum) in the 3 bedrooms. This property has 1 bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 has two bunk beds. The perfect kids' room for sure. The third bedroom also has a queen bed. And...that's not all. This cottage has a family room with a Smart TV, seating, and a foosball table. Games night it is! I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you about the private beach for the properties along that stretch of beach which is managed by the area association....it is sandy beach with a gradual entry into the water. Lake Erie here is shallow for several metres which is nice if you just want to wad in a little without having it go over your head. Please note that the property is adjacent to the public access road. The public are allowed to use the beach directly in front of the road. End your evenings with a fire right on the beach. Dig a hole, throw some logs down and you're good to go. Memories....that's what you'll be making at Windpoint Cottage. Bedroom 1: Queen Bedroom 2: Two sets of bunk beds Bedroom 3: Queen Video of the property: https://youtu.be/GYjfVPVtQFo https://youtu.be/GYjfVPVtQFo Air Conditioning throughout except for 2 of the bedrooms as there are no vents. Perfect cottage for a get away to the Niagara and Fort Erie area. Superb beach. Comfortable well kept cottage. Attentive hosts. — Property exactly as advertised. Zero complaints, only good times.

We really enjoyed our stay because of the location and the hosts (very welcoming and great restaurant recommendations). The house was good, but could have been great with proper cleaning and maintenance. Dusty inside and the weeds at the end of the yard blocked the view of the beach. Still had a great time and would recommend for anyone looking for a stay in fort Erie.

This is a great cottage for getting away from it all. The cottage had a nicely laid out main level floor plan. An absolute joy to stay in and do whatever your vacation heart desires. The view of the lake from inside the enclosed porch went very well with our morning coffee and homemade meals. The yard is huge and leads to the beach. There is a firepit but one would have a hard time setting up chairs due to the unmanaged (weeds) area around it. The beach was hot breezy and nice to relax on. Had a great time here and would do it again!

Other than having shower issues, it was a wonderful place to stay. Mike the property manager was awesome and so was Amanda. They were very accommodating and helpful. Would stay again. My grandkids loved, loved, loved the beach. It's just a shame it was tooooo cold for swimming.

We loved the beach and property. The cottage was clean and reasonably equipped. The only real issue for us was the shower. It is a claw foot tub with a wrap around curtain. We are older and felt getting in and out was dangerous and challenging. The wrap around curtain was clean but clingy!

We stayed here for four nights. The location is quiet and you have an amazing view of Lake Erie. The house is charming. My two small dogs really enjoyed playing ball in the yard. There are wildlife around, we saw a few foxes, deer, loons and large birds. Recommendations: The house needs better housekeeping. The amount of cob webs and spiders around the shower, light fixtures, windows etc was a little surprising. The house would benefit from better outside motion lights or some string lights that are automatically on and off based on a timer. The outdoor plastic Adirondack chairs are cracked. The only TV is in the back of the house with a futon for a couch which is not comfortable. More curtains to provide privacy or pull down shades. Not all windows have screens, which limits the windows you open to let in the fresh air. The house could use some hooks on the walls to hand jackets, hats, keys etc. The house book should be updated. It states that the house is a pet free home and goes into the penalties for having pets. This made me concerned that maybe I hadn’t been upfront about my two dogs but then found my booking that clearly stated 2 adults and 2 dogs. The house was well equipped. There is a road that goes along side the house and provides access to the beach. We found that people park and set up their chairs and umbrellas for the day on the beach in front of the property. Maybe the property should be marked with signage if it is private. There was quite the crowd out front when we arrived on Saturday. Even with these recommendations it was a positive experience.

Overall a very nice place to stay. Very spacious inside and out and very well equipped. The place was clean except all the windows had a lot of spider webs. We also had the visit of a tiny field mouse… to be expected for the environment, but be aware if this freaks you out. There were also LOTS of bees everywhere. The neighbours are lovely. The lake view is absolutely perfect and the beach is very nice although not private as advertised; but you do have private access to it.
