This sweet little guesthouse is in a great location near the heart of "Mayberry" (Mt Airy). Within walking distance of historic downtown, the Andy Griffith Museum and Wally's Service station, this bungalow is tucked behind the main house for privacy and quiet. For many years, the property was owned by a local sign maker and this separate building was where he created his signs. Some of his creations are displayed on the exterior. The interior has been completely remodeled.

Overall was a great place to stay and close to everything. Parking was a little tight. Overall was exactly what was expected. I would recommend Chasin Charlie’s and the Depot in Dobson. Best food we had.

We wanted to stay within walking distance of town for the festival. The location was perfect. We even had an amphitheater so close we could enjoy the music and never leave home. Our only complaint would be the couch which was uncomfortable for us. It's pretty hard and straight but for the few days we were there, we managed with pillows. The chair was very comfortable. Parking is tight for a F150 but we managed. This was our first trip to Mt Airy. We loved the town and surrounding area. If you don't want a view and just want a place within walking distance of town, this place would work.

Only complaint was musty smell in property

The owner communicated well, the unit was clean. It was nice being so close to downtown Mt. Airy, my wife and I just walked over to the downtown area, it was really convenient. The only negative that I might have is the mattress on the bed wasn't very comfortable and there was kind of a musty smell when we first got there, but the smell either went away or we got used to it. Overall we were very happy with our stay though.

This is a sweet intimate cabin with an at home feeling. My husband and I spent 4 nights there and would highly recommend it for a cozy getaway. Parking is a little tight but manageable. One block away from downtown Mt. Airy but the stores are close for groceries or eating out. The host was always quick to answer questions or concerns. We will definitely rent from them again should we decide to return to the area.

We were very pleased with the bungalow. Clean and quaint. Darryl was very nice and easy to work with. Answered any questions we had. We were comfortable there and what you see in the pictures is what it is. We spent most of our time out, sightseeing so we didn't spend a lot of daytime there, just evenings.

I had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time in Mt. Airy. The Bungalow was in a perfect location, just a few short blocks from "Mayberry" - the courthouse/jail, hotel, filling station, and just a few short blocks from downtwon Mt. Airy - with shops and restaurants. The place was as pictured, and quite quiet. I would stay there again!

Just what we needed to rest a bit and get a good night's sleep after full days of exploring the area. Super clean and really appreciated nice touches of coffee, paper towels, and kleenex.

Darryl's place was very cute, cozy, and quiet - a perfect spot for us to explore several hikes in the general area. It's quite easy to walk to historic downtown area with cute shops and restaurants. We had a slight issue with the WiFi access, but Darryl quickly reset it for us. We can tell he put a lot of thought into the property.

This bungalow was clean and had all the comforts of home. It is within walking distance to downtown Mayberry, restaurants, and breweries. It is a short drive to Pilot Mountain which is great for hiking and scenery. We had a great time!

We were unaware of the small parking arrangements until the day before check in. Luckly we were able to rent a smaller vehicle last minute because are F250 truck would have never fit .

We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, comfortable, and had pretty much everything you need. Communication could have been better. My only issue was how unkempt the outside of the property is. High weeds and overgrown bushes were unappealing.

The property was very clean and cozy. It was alot smaller then advertised, but we made the best of it and had a great time. The property manager was very nice and helpful. I would stay here again.

Great little place
We stopped here for an overnight on the way to Topsail. The bungalow was clean and comfortable. Darrell checked us in and gave us good ideas about where to eat and what to do. Mt. Airy is a friendly and fun town. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This was our 1st ever Vrbo rental. The bungalow was clean, cute, the perfect size for 2, an optimum location for walking thru historic / downtown Mt. Airy & well appointed. No views to speak of except the beautiful garden flowers, but the great windows provided a lot of light & the feeling of more space. A most congenial, helpful host w/ whom we enjoyed chatting. We felt comfortable walking around the neighborhood well into the evening. Most important for our budget - It was reasonably / fairly priced compared to other similar, too expensive for us properties! We could only book for a couple days. The only thing missing for a week-long stay might be an apartment size stove vs. just a hot plate, but the toaster oven was all we needed this time. Had some communication problems w/ Vrbo itself but zero issues w/ the owner or the accommodations. Very glad we stayed here instead of a motel!

Mayberry tourism sites were the draw!
