This host is not responsive and doesn't even care about his house. When we arrived the upstairs AC didn't work and it was 83 degrees. I reported that and he responded 3 days later that he would have his people look at it. Meanwhile it's over 100 outside and the upstairs got as high as 93 degrees while we could not sleep upstairs. Guess where all but ONE bed is? Upstairs. So we were forced to sleep on the recliners in the living room. Why did we rent a house with beds if we had to sleep in chairs? Another problem is the house was disgustingly filthy. The floors were so dirty that my granddaughters hands, knees and feet were black. She is only 1 year old and crawling. That is completely unacceptable. I am a house cleaner for a living and I know about vacation rental turn overs. This was a lack of communication on the owners part. They came the next day when we were already there asking when we were leaving. They were assuming we were packing, not unpacking but we had actually checked in the night before. I would have had the cleaners come while we were there but it was my son who talked to them and he didn't think about that. This house was not cleaned. Now for the large cockroaches and wasps....... enough said?

Could be a very nice place if the cleaning people did their job. AC filters were clogged to the point that the returns were sucking the filters deep into the unit, floors very sticky and turned socks black instantly, rugs absolutely filthy, lawncare people hadn't been there in a very long time, previous renters didnt take trash to the road as instructed so flies and maggots were by the thousands. Nice house, beautiful neighborhood, and easy to get in touch with the owner but as for cleaning crew and mowing crew they both need checked up on to make sure things are actually getting done.

The house was clean except for a lot of dead palmetto bugs, but the cleaning service showed up on our second day very surprised to see us because they had not cleaned yet so the previous tenants must have cleaned before they left. The house is not a few steps from the beach. It is a good couple of blocks. But is isn't a hard walk and the house comes with a parking pass so that you can drive and park with by the dune walk.

Overall the check in process went well. We enjoyed the home, I really wish we could have used the pool though. I think more people would stay here if the pool were included. Nice neighborhood.

Benjamin’s house is, or at least could be, a nice place. It is located in a nice subdivision called Kure Dunes where the owners have access to an outdoor pool and a private beach access with parking and a restroom. As guests, we couldn’t use the pool, but we were given a parking pass and bathroom key. The listing says the house is steps from the beach, but 1/4 mile would be more accurate. When we arrived, we noticed a couple dead cockroaches, dust on the counters, crusty food in the fridge, floors that needed swept better and mopped but I think this speaks about the cleaning service, not the owner. Like the last review, we found moldy coffee grounds in the coffee pot, which we cleaned and made sure not to leave for the next person. The vacuum cleaner worked okay, but smells like rubber so I think it needs serviced. The pullout couch in the den is too dirty to use as a couch or bed and the pullout couch in the living room has been replaced with recliners and a recliner couch. The listing also says you’ll have four bedrooms with full or queen size beds, but the room with a twin daybed has a twin trundle you can pull out. The jetted tub does not work. The oven was not working at the time of our stay either. I contacted the owner on Sunday but he said it was fine three weeks ago. On Wednesday I asked vrbo what to do and they said contact him again. I did that and he said he’d call a repairman. It was still broken on Saturday when we left.

Came to the house, there were dead bugs on the floor- and a dirty coffee pot (wasn’t cleaned from last resident which clearly had been a bit of time)- but nothing an hour of cleaning didn’t fix. Rest of vacation was great minus the oven not working, but we brought our air fryer so it wasn’t a big deal. Location is great! We let owner know of the oven not working, he was very prompt at answering any issues.

The property itself wasn't a bad place to stay in. Very spacious for a party of 11. Working dishwasher and washer/dryer for clothes plus 4 separate bathrooms with working showers. The deck leading out of the master bedroom is a safety hazard though (heavily dry rotted boards with nails missing in some which caused our kid's leg to go through a step leading up to a small connected patio - no injuries). Owner was contacted and "will resolve the issue immediately." Didn't offer an apology or say how soon "immediately" would actually be. Wasn't resolved by the time we left. Also, make sure to bring your own towels and bed sheets as there weren't really any upon arrival (unexpected expense trip to Walmart). Overall, not a bad place to stay at if you have a large group! Just some safety issues to be wary of!
