Situated in Norfolk, this attractive house for $253 per night is a great option for your next break. This 2 bedroom/ 1 bathroom 1500 square foot house sits directly on the beach and only steps away from the Ocean View Fishing Pier and Rooftop Bar and Grill, and is conveniently located near Downtown Norfolk, Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Chic's Beach, Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University, the Navy and Air Force bases, and many other attractions! There is WiFi, a brand new 50" Smart TV in the living room, 40" smart TVs in each bedroom, memory foam mattresses, 4x window AC units to keep the house very cool, a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor furniture and seating area, a fishing kayak with paddle (and stand up paddleboard coming soon) and everything you need for the perfect vacation! The first picture is the view from the back porch of the house. It is a 100 year old house that has recently undergone renovations including new floors, cabinetry, bathroom, brand new window AC/heat units, and appliances, including an arcade machine with hundreds of games including Pac-Man and Galaga. There is a queen bed in bedroom 1 and two twin beds in bedroom 2. If you need to use the sofa bed or additional twin bed stored in the sunroom, please request linens for those ahead of time.

The units are close together with no privacy. None of the windows have curtains. Neighboors dog constantly barked 8 plus hrs day as it was tied outside. Kitchen lacked bare essentials. The rancid smell of dog permianted the air. Even after multiple attempts to shampoo rugs. Paint peeling, roof leaked. Located in a sketchy area. No clothes dryer. I attempted to hang my clothes outside, they were stolen within 2 hrs.....

Just in town for the night to visit WinterFest. Perfect place to stay. We only stayed one night, but definitely will be back. Will recommend this house to friends.

Up on arrival you will have to fight for parking spots. You have to park in the pier parking lot. There are spots designated for the houses but the house in front of us took all of them. When we first walked in there was a slight smell you can definitely tell it’s an older house! Floors are very in level. We understand (beach bugs) but we did have to kill several pincher bugs. I even had one in my bed. The area is a little rough especially for a bunch of women! Very close to the water but lots of trashed furniture outside. Grass to get to the ocean was very tall. All around we made it but probably wouldn’t stay again, mainly for safety concerns! We asked a grocery store worker how safe it was and he said look around your in ocean view there are security guards in grocery stores. So that didn’t help! The host responded quickly and we had a seem less check in!

The house was very cute, I loved the extra touches such as the sample toiletries and Pac Man machine. The beach was steps away and the fishing pier was a huge hit with my husband and daughter. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property, we hope to come back one day.

Very pleased with our stay. We were just a few steps from the beach. Loved that. The place was clean. Quiet. We just wanted the beach and rest and we were able to do both. George was easy to work with. We definitely plan to return to this hidden place. Just hated to leave.

Older cabin was clean. Had everything we needed. Outside area needed alot of attention. Grass needed mowed and had some junk furniture sitting around that did not have to be there. Location to the beach and pier was awesome.

Contact the manager directly to confirm your rental is only booked on the calendar for this house. Apparently this house is listed on multiple rental sites and they aren't diligent enough to keep the calendars updated on each site. So at 9:30 pm on our first night, my 13 yr old son had to stop a strange man who entered our rental home. George wasn't empathetic to my concern for our safety and refused to come change the door code after the other renters left. He even told me this thing happens all the time when you rent homes (guess we've just been lucky as this was our first issue ever with a rental). Based on how he responds to renters who post negative reviews, I'm sure he will rebut this review and attempt to twist it into somehow being our fault. The house itself was nice considering it's age and the amount of work they've done to it thus far, location is great.

Rained 4 outta 5 days but we made the best of it..lil noisy at night with the pier right there.n parking for the pier is 20ft away soo constant car noise n ppl.. n dont try to star gaze cuz the lights stay on all night..house was clean n cozy but outdated as stated in description.neighbor who lives nextstore is nice..lotsa good restraunts in area with in a 20min drive..overall it was an ok stay but wont b returning due to noise

It was our first time at the beach and it was a wonderful experience. The house was clean, and cozy, and the view was stunning.. There was a minor maintenance issue upon our arrival, which was fixed immediately. George was very friendly. He answered all of our questions before and during our stay, he even recommended places to eat, and visit. We highly recommend this vacation rental.

Great location to the fishing pier!!! Was super awesome to be able to walk out the back door and over the sand dune and be on the beach! Not far from Virginia Beach and other great sight seeing things to do! Thank you!

We brought our two dogs and 20 month old-perfect size for us and no indoor stairs for baby proof. Couldn’t beat the 15 second walk to the beach. While it’s technically a public beach it is pretty private (less than 8 people during the day). It does get a little busier (maybe 10-15 people) after work hours but still nothing compared to VA beach. Kitchen seemed well stocked although we didn’t cook any meals-got by on sandwiches and a few dinners out for our few nights. There is not an ice maker or ice trays so either bring your own or pick up some on your way in if you need it. George was easy to contact and helped with any concerns in a timely manner. Thanks again for having us!

We were looking for an overnight getaway to a beach and this place was perfect! Being right on the beach was truly worth it. It was two of us and between enjoying food and live music at the restaurant on the pier (right by the home), playing Pac-Man at the home, and enjoying the beach it was such a great experience. If you’re looking for a simple beach getaway I highly recommend this property :)

I booked a late notice, overnight stay. The cottage was right on the beach. The pier & volleyball courts were out back. There was plenty of seating outback with a fire pit & charcoal grill. Both of which we used. The cottage was clean. Plenty of room for me, 2 15yr olds & 2 dogs. Furniture was clean & comfortable. We cooked a dinner in the kitchen. Fairly well stocked with essentials. I would recommend bringing cooking pans & mixing bowls if you need though. They had plenty of pots, dishes & silver ware. I couldn't find cleaners or extra garbage bags. They did have dish soap, sponge & dish drainer to clean up. The beds were made & comfortable. Air conditioners were in all rooms. They were loud if you aren't use to it. The area/town was nice. Its not VA beach so I didn't deal with crowds or souvenir shops. I was able to order breakfast from a local restaurant & go to a Dollar General tonight up something I forgot. We had a lovely stay. I will look this listing up next time we are looking for a stay at the beach. We would recommend & will re-book.
