Had a great stay with my wife, son, and dog. John was an awesome host and quickly responded any time I sent a message. The house itself was beautiful and was stocked with everything we could want. A seculed rural feel, but minutes away from town with anything needed. Short day trips to all Maine has to offer. We would definitely stay again when we come back to Maine.

We chose John and Elizabeth’s place due to location, cost, and the quaint homey feel of the accommodations. And this place did not disappoint. This central location was great for access for a day trip to most sites on our list, including Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Quoddy State Park to the north. The cost was the most reasonable in this region, and the 1838 home was charming and spacious. And John was responsive and so very helpful in making our vacation worry free.

John is a lovely host who has put a lot of attention and devotion into this charming house, and our stay was over much too soon. Despite it raining for most of our visit there was no shortage of things to do, from some day hikes in Acadia to exploring the cute small towns up and down the coast, all within striking distance. John’s house is perfectly situated as a base of operations for all these activities, and the pictures don’t do the property justice. This was our first time in New England visiting from Chicago and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The host had everything we could possibly have needed at the home. It was quiet, a short walk to the beach, and to the places we wanted to visit such as Bar Harbor and Acadia. Thanks for a great stay

Thank you so much to John and wife for allowing us to enjoy this special seaside home. There are so many fun places to explore in this relaxing and adorable town. The historic house a real gem, clean and comfortable and easy to relax and make memories. The beach down the road is fantastic and was a great escape. Waking up to the water on the horizon is something very special !!! This is a great place to escape with historical fun all over -- 10 stars !!! Thank you !! See you next year

Stay was great! John was quick to respond to concerns and provided insight to places of interest. We were close to many desired areas of interest, including bar harbor, Acadia, Bangor, and Camden. There were many toiletries, dishes, spices, lobster pot, grill, washer, dryer, and the cottage provided a warm feel. I could tell that John was passionate about the area. Thank you!!

Lovely home can sleep 6 or more but the hot water issue makes showering a challenge. Great wifi, wonderful outdoor setting and close to many fun places! Need a flag to help you fine the driveway cuz it’s a little tricky! We all had a blast! Owners wonderful to work with.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was very helpful, the house had everything we needed! The kiddos loved that there was a tire swing. This was the perfect place to act as our base camp for a week in Maine as it was close to lots of attractions, and a peaceful place to relax after a day of excursions.
