We loved everything about GiGi Brown. The beds were very comfortable, we loved to have two bathrooms in the suite, we very much appreciated our little private pool, the terrace with enough lounge chairs. The beach and the privacy. The design is very stylish and everything is very well maintained. We loved the encounters with the monkeys, the iguanas and the birds on the property.
We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, which can be experienced on the property in different lounge areas. The entire staff was perfect. The security man, the cleaning lady, the maintenance man and of course Jorge Fernandez, the manager who helped in many ways e.g. with restaurant recommendations and reservations and with reservations for the ferry. Thanks again for everything!
We can fully recommend the hotel if you have a car. They could work a bit on the entrance to the parking, it is very dumpy and could cause problems if you are not driving an SUV.

We loved our stay at Gigi Brown! The property is secluded and serene in the Malpaís area just a 7 minute drive to the main bustling area of Santa Teresa but it felt miles away because of how relaxing and calm it was. The decor of the hotel is very chic- our room was beautiful and spacious, and we loved our private deck with our plunge pool and the breathtaking views of the ocean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly- special shoutout to General Manager Pawan Kumar, who gave us a list of restaurant and activity recommendations, and was extremely responsive and helpful with anything we needed. Since the property is so small, we often felt like it was our own private and very gracious home. Highly recommend!
It was a bit pricey for a boutique property without a full service restaurant or any other wellness amenities. The beach/ocean right out front is also super rocky so you have to walk a bit to actually swim in the ocean.

Location and staff were lovely
It was very overpriced.
1600€ a night for 4 people sharing a room is seriously expensive. The breakfast was very nice but there is no on site restaurant or room service. There is no on site bar. The room was clean and tasteful decorated but a little shabby. While in Costa Rica it was the most expensive place we stayed and the most basic.
The location and staff do help to elevate the establishment but can’t bridge the gap between cost and overall facilities and service

Howler monkeys upon entering hotel were a beautiful surprise. The room was nice and clean. Bed comfortable. Staff are very nice. Some of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen are from the beach of this hotel.
Monkey poop around my private pool and on the sun beds of my pool. Pool was not clean with many leaves etc that we didn’t use it not even once in 3 nights. No lunch or dinner or any kind of service except breakfast and housekeeping. Donno if I would stay there again… maybe but will def look for other alternatives first.

Boutique hidden hide away with a modern presentation. Their appreciation of pop art playfully coexists in a lush jungle canopy on the edge of a beautiful sand and rocky shoreline.

Courteous and very accommodating staff, beautiful and spacious room.

Location, view for the sea, artsy room decor, restaurant, food, drinks were all amazing. The resort is very small, so not many other guests and very individualized approach. It was quiet and relaxing. But the experience was topped up with absolutely wonderful host Luis. He was welcoming, very helpful with all the requests and just such a nice person.
It is a little walk to the nice beach.

Small, beautiful resort with astonishing nature around! Modern style rooms and the entire property. We loved private pool on our ocean view room's patio. But what really make our experience unforgettable is people who work in the resort. They made our vacation so enjoyable with all services provided, we really appreciate everything we've got in Gigi's. Special thank you to Gigi's manager Luis, and food servants Xinia and Gendri! We had the best vacation we ever had because of you!

The staff was absolutely amazing. Breakfasts we included and over the top of our appetites, but just the starters were great for us. Pool and view were incredible. Small, quaint, attentive place to hang out for a few days. Loved the monkeys over our rooms in the morning. Road is a bit rough to get there, but worth the destination. Most hotels don't have ocean front and a restaurant. Great value.

Great hotel. Enjoyed my stay there. They have four villas, each with a private pool that can sleep up to four people. Each room is decorated in a style of a famous artist. I stayed in the villa with a beach view which was priceless. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. It came with a fruit plate, a pastry basket, meat and cheese tray. Then anything else that you might want. The hotel restaurant also served lunch and dinner. There was a seating area by the beach with hammocks and lounge chairs for watching the famous Costa Rican sunset. The only drawback is that the hotel is not on a beach where you can swim or surf. The hotel is about a 45 minute walk from Santa Teresa beach (surfing) and about a 20 minute walk from Carmen beach. I didn't mind the walk but not everyone wants to walk for 30 minutes in the sun everyday.
The location of the hotel was a little out of the way if you want to be within walking distance of Santa Teresa.

I've never stayed at such a place before and we have traveled extensively. I loved how we were welcomed so warmly and how we all came to know each other on a first-name basis. This is entirely up to you, if you want to be anonymous, they sense this and will accommodate you. My husband and I loved the privacy, warmth and lodge feel of the place. This location is MUCH MORE than a hotel. We were introduced to a unique concept which we loved that, I fear, we may never find again - until we return (and we certainly will return). I can't say enough great things about the staff taking care of our every need, rooms (cleanliness), the food (fresh, tasty, well priced and that breakfast - WOW). We sorely needed this escape from reality and Gigi Brown Santa Teresa, Malpais delivered.
The sunset is spectacular and comfortably viewed from comfortable, serviced (cocktails, etc.) seating at GiGi. Venus and Jupiter stars in clear view once the sun went down.
Everything was great and the culture of the region was not washed out of our stay. If you are looking for a cookie cutter Hilton or Holiday Inn, then you'd best look for a cookie cutter Hilton or Holiday Inn.

Gigi Brown is a new property and personally i think they did an amazing job to get it open for the season, but there are a few things i feel that will improve as time goes by.
we LOVED the location. this piece of beach is so beautiful, with stunning rocks, trees, rock pools, horses riding by - 20 minute beach walk from the hub bub of Santa Teresa, which was just perfect for a morning walk, or walk back from dinner, but so lovely not to be on top of the maddness.
Gigi is run by Jorge who is divine. He couldn't have done more for us. I was in touch with him way before our trip, organising boats and excursions, and he was prompt, enthausiastic listening to all our needs and realy delivered us the most brilliant ideas and suggestions.
the Property is small and perfectly formed (only 4 suites currently) there is a lovely little restaurant, with terrific food/sushi / burgers / wraps and the best cocktails on the beach (far far better then the Banana Bar!)
the beach & garden running up the beach, is full of cool seating areas, day beds, hammocks, gazebos - a great place for sunset drinks & sushi
the vibe is super stylish & modern, with a nod to modern art vibe, but it was full of lovely families, not hipsters.
It was a great accommodation for 4, but not so great for 5 people as the sofa bed, is really a sofa, so not particularly comfortable for a sleeping teenager.
you can't really swim in the ocean from the beach, you need to walk a bit for a safe place to swim, as its very rocky and you can't swim safely.

The staff made this hotel! Jorge the manager was wonderful and nothing was ever a problem for all the staff
The only thing that should be noted, and nothing the staff can do about it is - you can’t swim off the beach in the ocean as it’s too rocky!

the main road in the area is not good

The modern vibe and decor. Very comfortable and big size room with two bathrooms. the view to the garden and ocean from the private pool is amazing.
I would like to have buffet breakfast, but it was good anyway.

This Hotel is very secluded and we liked that. It is away from the main hub of Santa Teresa. The suite is very spacious and comfortable. The staff is great, especially Axel, who did everything we could ask for and more!
There was only coffee and a mini bar in the room, no kettle to make tea or other hot drinks. At the price of the accommodation, one would expect a gym and spa. Close to the hotel, there were raw sewerage running directly into the sea. The roads to reach Santa Teresa requires 4-wheel drive vehicles, they are terrible!

Great location, on the beach. Modern and spacious.

Breakfast was very good. Bread basket with freshly baked stuff, fruit plus main plates to choose from. Excellent omelette.
Nothing worth mentioning.

we loved the room and the staff were amazing. We chilled out by the beach! great breakfast.
The property is by the water but unfortunately you can’t really swim there due to the rocks. It’s a perfect location for a peaceful retreat but it is a couple of kilometres from town. We were charged for the bottles of water provided in the room. would prefer one large bed rather than 2 beds.
