The cottage offered a lovely view of rhe river and was just as we hoped.

We truly enjoyed our stay. We even extended it an extra day. Everything was as listed. We brought our own pontoon boat and we did a lot of fishing. We were able to go kyaking one afternoon. It was nice having the sandy beach area. We will definitely come back again.

Enjoyed the relaxation of just being around and on the water. The place had all that we needed to have a great time.

The place was very clean & has great amenities, the pontoon boat is a great option to get. The host is very thoughtful on little things that you might forget. A variety of activities to enjoy your stay. The only downfall for us is that you could hear the hwy traffic & the band at the bar across the way during our camp fire. We live out in the country where it’s very quiet, for others this may not be a big deal. The host was super awesome in communication, we did really enjoy our stay, going up the river with the boat was great.

This was the cutest cottage right on the water. It was SUPER clean and had all the amenities we needed. The boat was the highlight of the trip! Close to rhinelander and minocqua for quick trips into town.

We had a great time. Inside of cabin looks recently redone and is very nice. Pontoon boat is old but definitely worth it. We spent most of our time site seeing and fishing on the boat. You will need to bring your own water for drinking etc. This was not an issue for us as we have been campers for many years and tooks a few jugs of water with us and some bottled water. The owner is very quick to respond to any questions and very accommodating. Great experience. Fire pit with wood included also nice. Mosquitos were bad but not horrible. Bug spray does the trick. There are other cabins around but the lot is big and a non issue. Nothing bad to say about our trip. Great time.

Beautiful property, right on the water. The pontoon rental was exactly what we were looking for. 2 couples stayed here, it was the perfect size. The beds were very comfortable. Everything we needed was there. The cabin was so cute and clean. The outdoor area and fire pit was an added bonus, the outdoor lights around the fire pit were a great touch. The cabin is right on the river, you can boat for hours up and down the river and also on Boom Lake. We would definitely return! Thanks for letting us enjoy your place and the fast communication!

The cottage was well maintained and there were plenty of amenities to take advantage of—kayaks, row boat, fire pit and gas grill. The mosquitoes were fierce so only one fire during our stay. The cottage was clean and bed was comfortable. Thanks for a great trip!

The cabin, property, and location is second to none! And I mean zero. Surrounded by water on three sides, with the water being 12 feet from the door. The pier is in great shape and had plenty of room for our two boats. Property is very large with great firepit, picnic table, and chairs. Inside of cabin seemed almost new and had plenty of room for us fishermen. Oh yeah, the fishing was excellent as well. We caught our limit of crappies five out of six days. Communication with owners was excellent as well. Highly, highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and well kept. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The weather was extremely cold during our visit but we had no problem staying warm. Communication with our host was very good before and during our visit.

Our stay was totally above and beyond our expectations. We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and the cabin was clean, warm and cozy. The communications with the property manager were excellent. We will definitely be going back, and we would absolutely recommend to family & friends.

Pretty point on the Wisconsin River. Right on the river, literally the back door is 15 paces from the water. Close to town as well. Property is managed in a thoughtful and professional way. I was finding useful things like dog dishes and USB outlet plugs right up to the end. It will make my next stay even easier!

This is a unique property. It sits on the very end of a point in the Wisconsin River flowage into Boom Lake in Rhinelander, WI. Water surrounds you on three sides and, if it wasn't for road noise, mostly during the day, would seem much more isolated. The cottage is a modest two bedroom, one bath structure. The kitchen has a gas range, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Nothing is new and thankfully, not stainless, and everything works. The bedrooms have good beds (firm) and the secondary bedroom has a futon couch. The bathroom is probably the most recently updated room The living room has a couch with recliner ends and two easy chairs. All are comfortable. For me the highlight of the property is the firepit. I really enjoy a fire being surrounded by pines and water. There are four plastic chairs, a picnic table and four hammocks available. A bin behind the wood pile had everything you need to get a fire started in short order - sticks, cardboard, yard detris (twigs, pineneedles, etc) and lighter fluid. We had fires three of the five nights we were there and all of them were well established within 20 minutes of lighting. This may be a turnoff for some but we really enjoyed listening to the band across the water at the H2H bar while having a nice fire on Saturday night. The band was done around 10:00 pm and except for the occasional loud voice, was quiet after that. The pontoon they have available for rent is well used and everything to make it legal is there (lights, lifejackets, horn, fire extinguisher and anchors). The engine starts immediately and runs well. You can rent a pontoon from an outside vendor that is much newer AND much more money. There are a multitude of "toys" available from kayaks to cornhole to water toys. All of the toys have everything needed to use them, including paddles, lifejackets, cornhole bags and so on. A lot of thought went into supplying this cottage. From coffee filters to toiletries to toys to firepit, virtually everything you would need is supplied. The only real downside to this property is the well water. As Krissy had advised, you will want to bring lots of drinking water and ice. The water is so heavy in iron, be careful of staining clothing. All in all, a most delightful stay!

Directions and access to the property were very easy! Very tidy and comfortable, lots of leisure amenities to use - lovely kayaking around the inlets, easy paddle to a few local establishments. My dog loved the docks. Overall a nice, relaxing stay.

We absolutely loved this little house! The location was beautiful and the amenities were more than we could have needed and/or used. Everything was there and available to us. Our kids are 8 & 5 and they loved swimming off the dock and playing in the boats. We also rented the pontoon and went to some fun beaches for them to play. We grabbed some lunch on the water and took in the ski show. It was a very relaxing vacation! We loved it and will definitely be back!!

We stayed 10 days. You do drive through a little neighborhood to get to house. It is on a point so you do feel pretty secluded. The bar and house across the bay can be loud on the weekends but you’re on the river so it’s to be expected. The kids absolutely loved the swimming area and the fishing was fun off the pier. We took advantage of all of the outside toys. The town of Rhinelander was ok but if you drive a half hour north, minoqua is a cool spot. You can refill one gallon jugs of water at the local supermarket called Triggs. Overall we had a great time. The firepit area is super cute And our dog had fun dock jumping. Thanks for the clean accommodations

We had a blast! Kayaks, paddle boat, pontoon (for rent), swimming, fire pit, etc. We enjoyed quiet mornings reading by the water, and fun nights!

Beautiful cabin with nearly everything you could want or need in a perfect Northwoods setting. Plenty of privacy, surrounded by water and nature. Great views of the Wisconsin River Flowage with super easy access for fishing/boating just steps from the cabin. Exactly what we needed!

We were really impressed by our stay at Thompson’s Tip. The house had everything we could possibly need from firewood, water toys, and extra bug spray. The property has a ton of space and an amazing view of the river. I highly recommend bringing your own water due to the high levels of iron in the water. I will definitely come back again.
