About this house rental
Nestled in Cape Charles, this attractive house for $756 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. “BayView Cottage” is located in the gated Kings Bay Village on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in the Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles on Virginia’s Scenic Eastern Shore. Locals call the Kings Bay Village homes the “jelly Bean” homes because of the many vivid colors of these West Indies style homes. As a part of this colorful Bayside village, “BayView Cottage” has views of the Chesapeake Bay from its morning room on the second floor and from its Crows-Nest on the third floor. Views of the village’s lake are also available while barbequing and relaxing on the home’s back deck. There are four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms: Master bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bath, and the other 3 bedrooms furnished with queen beds, other 2 bathrooms shared by these bedrooms, and a twin daybed located on the third floor. With a TV in each bedroom, a recreation room with a game table, bicycles, kayak and paddle board, etc., and a well-equipped kitchen, “BayView Cottage” and the Kings Bay Village offer everything needed for a relaxing and fulfilling vacation. At BayView Cottage, guests will have full access of Bay Creek amenities, including community swimming pool, tennis/pickleball courts, soft sand private beach, 350 acre Nature Preserve with trails & kayak launch. Also for an extra fee, guests can have access to the Life Center which has three pools, a slide, splashpad, and a state of the art Fitness Center as well as being able to book rounds of golf as guests of the Landlord, a full golf member. Currently the cost to access the Life Center is $75 per night for the entire duration of your stay and golf rounds are $110/per round/per person. Forms are required to be filled out and payment made at time of booking for the Life Center access. Cape Charles offers the Cape Charles Beach and adjacent Fun Pier, open day and night, for strolling, crabbing and fishing. A full complement of boutique shops is available in Cape Charles with unique offerings of local artists and crafts persons. Cape Charles visitors enjoy its many Eateries specializing in coffee house coffee and breakfasts, homemade ice cream, team tearoom afternoon teas, crabs at the Cape Charles Harbor, tavern cocktails, gourmet dinners, and pizza extravaganza. Plays and movies can be enjoyed at the 1950s restored movie theater now operated by the local arts organization, Arts Enter, and the Cape Charles Museum gives visitors an appreciation of the town’s colorful past. Charter boats offer both Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean Deep Sea fishing as well as moon light tours. Many of the “BayView Cottage” guests rent street-legal golf carts and have fun touring the many historic homes of Cape Charles, including the carefully-kept 1920s Sears and Roebuck mail order homes. Guest also enjoy walking and riding their bicycles on the boardwalk at the Cape Charles Beach or on paved trails that run throughout Cape Charles. Some “BayView Cottage” guests bring their trailerable boats and put in at the deep water boat ramps at the Cape Charles Harbor, but be advised that boat trailers are not permitted to be parked at Kings Bay Village. This house was perfect-great location with the ability to message home manager without any issues. Home was clean and stocked with plenty of dishes and linens. Community pool is not on site but an easy 15 min golf cart ride and a great way to see Cape Charles. We had a fabulous stay!

Very spacious house in a great neighborhood. The house was well equipped and nicely furnished. It had kayaks and bikes and floats to use. The kitchen was beautiful and the bedspreads were all adorable.The house had white carpet which was pretty stained throughout the house. It wasn't the cleanest house- the countertops were clean and the bathrooms were decent but when we got there it didn't look like it had been vacuumed and there was a load of towels and sheets sitting in the washer. The management company offered to send someone out right away but we declined and switched the laundry for them. The sink was dripping under the bathroom (they sent a handyman to fix it right away) and the toilet seat came off the toilet (my husband fixed it). When we pulled up the blinds the windowsills were filthy. It's a shame because it's a beautiful house but it needs a really deep cleaning and maybe some updated flooring. There's definitely room to spread out so that's an added bonus if you have kids with you. I would possibly rent it again if I knew that it had a few updates and a deep cleaning before I went. The property management company was always available to help us out and provided immediate response to our concerns.

My friends and I enjoyed the wide, open living space. Having a table in the porch was a plus. The house, being walking distance to the beach, we enjoyed the morning nature walks. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathrooms were clean although some shower curtain liners need replacing. Except for difficulty in locking the front door which was open when we arrived, difficulty in locating the remote controls which were placed in a drawer, and supplied with only one set of towels per person, we had a great stay and I recommend the place. Doug, our rental agent was very responsive to our calls and needs.

This was a great property with access to a private beach for the community. Cape Charles is a great family town that is quiet and has excellent beaches. It was the perfect spot to meet family meeting in the middle of the north and the south.

Great getaway
The property was beautiful and a great location. We enjoyed ourselves. The air conditioner broke but they sent someone out immediately and although it couldn't be fixed the temperatures were such that we were comfortable. It was only on one floor but two of the other floors were functioning and we just opened the windows to catch a nice breeze. They were quick to respond and apologetic.

A great change of scenery and relaxation after months of being at home. We were a bit nervous due to Covid but the house was beyond clean and throughout town everyone had their masks on and sanitizers. It was a great escape from all that’s going on and can’t wait to return!

Excellent stay
House was extremely well equipped. Property manager even offered to buy us a clam pot. Plenty of room. All essentials were here to get us started(TP, paper towels, detergent, dishwasher soap). We brought extra towels and blankets but all were provided. Private beach was beautiful and calm. We loved it!!

a great vacation and town!!
This was our second stay in this neighborhood, first stay at Bayview Cottage. We had 11 family members plus two others for day visits. We had plenty of room in this house. With two bedrooms on the first level, two bedrooms on the second level, and another space in the crow's nest with a twin plus trundle- it was everything we needed. There was also a "morning room" with a pull out couch if we needed it. Off the morning room was a wonderful deck that had great views of the beautiful Cape Charles sunsets!! We loved the ability to use the swimming pool in a nearby neighborhood. We would switch between going to the pool one day and the public beach the next. We love this little town. Everyone is friendly and waves. We love the ability to drive the golf carts around too. We will definitely be back and if we need another big space to accommodate our family, we will rent this house again.

Slice Of Paradise
From the moment I pulled up to gated community I knew it was going to be nice but once we got in the home and started the bedroom picking process I knew this house was the right pick. Right after unpacking we took the short walk to the bay that we could see it from the front deck, but that wasn't enough we needed to see more and the view from the steps leading to the beach was beautiful, it will not disappoint.
The house was very clean and in good order, tastefully decorated in the beach theme. The community is picture perfect, I loved the all the different color combinations, it didn't looked like they used the same color combination twice, but all together they blended perfectly. This community was located right outside the edge of this well taken careful town, if you like a good walk it's doable, but I would recommend renting a golf cart from CC Rider. Smitty made it fast and easy, and he shared some in-site on the town and places to see and eat at.
We got to do a few day trips to the local attractions like Virginia Beach & the Battleship Wisconsin, and than back to a relaxing place to slow down the day.
There is also many things to do around this house and Cape Charles, 3 pools, miles of beach, shops, places to eat, and my favorite people watching and golf cart riding, you can take them anywhere in town you wanted as long as the speed limit was 25 or less.
This place makes it on the top 5 of my favorite vacations.

Family Vacay
My family had a great time, the location is unbeatable. Swimming, floating, biking, paddle boarding, frisbee in the back yard and tennis. Day trip to Assateague Island for boogie boarding. All so much fun. The layout of the house suited the size of my family of eight. Enough parking for all vehicles and the golf cart rental made it easy to get back and forth to the town of Cape Charles. We were comfortably able to eat out and social distance. We went to the brewery, the distillery, and a cider stop as well. There is ice cream, bakery's and a candy shop. We were never looking for something to do. Great family get away.

Family fun in a wonderful town
The house had a great layout and accommodated our needs. There was plenty of room for everyone and we especially loved the kitchen. It was great during meal time as we weren’t on top of one another. We loved having coffee on the deck each morning and walking the beach at night. We put our boat at the marina which was great and convenient for our stay. We already plan to go back next year and hope to stay here again.
