Lovely place couple of issues with dog’s barking constantly not the home owners problem, lots of street lights surrounding the house letting way to much light in while sleeping

The layout of the guest house is beautiful. The flooring in the house is amazing. Lots of bathrooms which is always great! The stairwell was beautiful but difficult to get up and down. The location is great if you want to be close to a great trail that you could use to bike/walk into neighbouring areas. Terry was very speedy with his service and was always replying back in a timely fashion. However we did have some issues. The hot tub was never once at the temperature it was set to. When we got there it was at 68 and then didn’t warm up at all on the first night, we did Inform Terry and he came and looked at it but stated it was working. Then the next morning it was at 101 but quickly moved down to 95 when we were in the hot tub. We had to keep putting the cover on it with the jets on to get it to a good temperature but it was taking forever to warm up. It was at a steady 95-99 all weekend with some temps of 101 but that was after hours of us going and turning the jets back on (because they would time out) and not using the hot tub which was also very annoying because we went to this space with the idea of a relaxing fall weekend. We wanted the space to have everything we needed to lounge. So that was very disappointing and brings my overall score down. I was in contact with Terry but it didn’t appear the issue was ever resolved. This is the main reason for my overall rating, had this not been an issue I probably would give this stay a 4/5 The blinds!! They are awful. At night everyone can see directly into your room and they can see everything. And it can be a pretty busy place right there! This space really needs some better seating in the living room to be able to actually comfortably accommodate 8 people. Overall, this is best suited for three couples. I

Overall we had a good stay but there is definitely room for improvement. Firstly, communication with the property manager was excellent, both before and during our visit. For ex, when the coffee maker died, it was replaced right away. The house is nicely decorated and each bedroom has an ensuite (with enough towels; there are even towels for the hot tub, which was nice and clean) but more attention was paid to form than function. To be clear, it has 3 bedrooms and can comfortably sleep 6 people. There is a pull-out couch in the living room that can sleep 2 more small people (but then you can't use that area; though it doesn't seat 8 anyway). But if you are staying for while, no one wants to spend a week on a pull-out in the living room with no privacy, which is what happened to 2 of our kids. There was also no bedding for it so we took top sheets off other beds and used blankets we had in our cars (needed because the the couch is under the air conditioner, which only cools the main level). It was hot upstairs, which wouldn't be a big problem except that you can't open half of the windows because there are no screens. Also, the blinds suit the decor but they are not functional at keeping out light, nor preventing people outside from seeing you changing/showering. It's a busy area with the mussel farm and the restaurant across the street (it's like being in a fish bowl no matter where you are, inside or out). We had to hang clothing and towels in the windows for privacy or just do everything with the lights off after sunset. RE: the kitchen, there is a leaky commercial dishwasher but it didn't have soap, and not enough drinking glasses, cutlery, or tea towels. And we won't miss the narrow spiral staircase (we'd love to know how the furniture got upstairs). Note that there is a washer and dryer in the basement. FYI, the coffee maker makes a pot or it uses keurig pods. There is also a nespresso machine. Other than screens, bedding for the pull-out and blinds/curtains, the host could consider a second set of keys (we were 2 families and we weren't always together) and a deck box for the patio furniture cushions. All of that said, overall we had a good week and "made do" where things were less than ideal. We mostly just used the house as a base anyway as we were travelling all over PEI. In Georgetown, definitely pay a visit to Shoreline Designs for jewellery (Peter is a gem!), and eat at the Wheelhouse (the vegan dish is DIVINE).
