There was so clean, comfy, and relaxing!

Lovely lakeside home that's bigger than we expected. The homeowners shared instructions on how to use the telescope. Just an awesome place and so glad the owners decided to share the wealth in renting it out!

Perfect for a couple to get away. Not much going on around the town but great to stay in and get away for a bit.

The whole house is wonderful. Open living room was beautiful.

Cozy property, beautiful view of lake and stars at night, loved vinyl records downstairs. Tubs jets didn’t work though.

My husband and I stayed a week for our 20th Anniversary in late July/early August. The home was large, spotless, the owner provides everything you need, the primary bedroom mattress is very comfortable and having a powder room on the main floor was very useful.
The weather was spectacular and the home and lake are beautiful. There is plenty to do in the area, including an executive 9-hole golf course down the street, lake front restaurants, and downtown Castleton and Fair Haven are both within minutes.
I would suggest buying a few cases of bottled water to make ice and for drinking. There are many convenience stores in the area for picking up items to take back to the home or on a hike, definitely check out Bomoseen State Park. The neighbors are welcoming and full of information about the area. We are not from Vermont and valued the advice.
We much appreciated the very quiet cul-de-sac location. We enjoyed daily morning coffee overlooking a serene backdrop of mountains and rippling waters as well as evening cocktails on the private dock. We brought our own paddleboard and made good use of the multiple swim platforms. The basement of "fun" was a nice change of pace on a rainy day as we played darts and pool while listening to the wide array of vinyl music options on the record player.
We highly recommend this property to couples looking to unwind and leave it all behind for as long as you can!

Everything is just as pictured. Very comfortable and bright. It's in a nice, quiet neighborhood and there is a beach. The house was very clean and the bed was really comfy!! All the amenities. Pretty close to town (10 minutes) that has some nice stores and restaurants and very close to NY...less than an hour to Lake George. We really enjoyed our stay!!

Super clean and accommodating. Loved the soak tub and Rec room! The view from the lake room was stunning especially since we got caught in a snow storm! Will definitely be coming back in the summer to see it all defrosted!

This was a great Vrbo. We enjoyed the house and it was plenty of great space for the two of us. The house was uniquely decorated and was cleaned well. There was one toilet that was not cleaned properly but other than that it was well-maintained before our arrival. The amenities were great with the game table, TV, fireplace, and kitchen supplies. The items that would have been nice but did not affect our stay were the record player, the temperpedic controls, and the jets in the bathtub. Other than that the house was beautiful and a great place to stay to visit.

While our stay at this property we had no power due to a snow storm earlier in the week. When we got there on Friday night we had power until about midnight. And then we had none for the rest of our stay. Which means we had no water, no heat, no service, no electricity, couldn’t cook, etc. After driving around for an hour to finally get service I was placed on hold and then hung up on. Never got a call back. When we left we had asked for not even a full refund because we understood it’s no one’s fault there was not power. But also we were paying money to be able to use the amenities at this house and couldn’t. So we thought it was fair to ask for a partial refund and got nothing but push back from the company refusing to give us even just some of our money back. I will never stay at this home again or with this company. Just because it’s not the property managements fault doesn’t mean it’s the customers fault and that nothing should be done about it. Unbelievable

Absolutely stunning lake views make this an amazing property. House was clean well maintained. I would have liked a few more kitchen gadgets as we enjoy cooking and a few blankets for the couch but I would absolutely come back and just know to bring a few extra things.

We went to Vermont for a week of leaf peeping and hiking - one couple and a dog. Booked our trip semi-last minute, and this house had our exact dates available. It's in a private community on a lake. Easy to find and get to, and check in and out was a breeze. The property, and lake, are gorgeous. Caught a couple of beautiful sunsets out of the giant lake room window (and my dog enjoyed watching the deer go by). It's a huge house with one bedroom made available to guests (and a couch for two in the TV area).
The kitchen was well stocked, bathrooms were nice, soaking tub was a nice touch too after a day of hiking. My first impression upon check in was that it was pretty clean but a sticky cabinet handle or two, and significant staining on the mattress (mattress covers are super cheap, just sayin') had me re-thinking that a little.
It's about 10 minutes away to anything you'd need (supermarket, gas, etc.) in Fair Haven. A lot of the hiking was a drive, but there were some easier, local options (we are experienced hikers) for the less ambitious. We liked getting to tour the state a bit, anyway (the drives through the farmland and mountains are BEAUTIFUL!).
All in all a very good stay, not my favorite house I've ever stayed at (I've used VRBO quite a bit) but very very enjoyable for a last minute fall foliage trip. Would recommend.

This house was absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed our nightly beautiful sunsets just looking out of the huge windows. The house was immaculate and very accomodating! Not far drive to get to Rutland where we visited often during our 4 day stay. Wished we would have stayed for the week! Would definitely like to do a return trip to this gorgeous house!

Very secluded neighborhood.. extremely quiet. House was clean and modern. For the amount of money per night, the listing should state that there are 3 Bedrooms, not only 1, Which would be able to accommodate a Family instead of only 2 people.

We arrived and were so glad to be able to bring our little dog. This was the cleanest place out of all the rentals I've stayed in. Really immaculate. The washer and dryer were handy and the lake views are stunning. We cooked and grilled out, the kitchen had everything we needed. The grill was great on the back deck and there was a picnic table outside. The a/c was great, we were very cool and comfortable during the heatwave.
If you stay, check out The Lake House restaurant, we ate outside with our dog, great food and views. There is also Bomoseen State Park nearby and they had some great hiking trails, you can pick up a free map from the park ranger stand.
If I had any recs for the owners, leave a binder with nearby restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We found our way around but it would be helpful. You can do a few easy day trips out of Castleton to see other towns, too. We spent an afternoon in Lake George to shop and eat about an hour from the cottage.
The internet worked good and the TV had something like a firestick, so bring your passwords from home if you need to sign in to apps you are a member of because other than that, there are no cable channels...but it is easy to use. Overall it was just lovely.

the property was beyond what I expected. from going to lakes from when I was a kid you expect a cabin to be rustic. This cabin is far from rustic. Clean spacious amazing views and all supplies for house came with the rental. for our group the house exceeded our needs. However, I loved it. The sunsets alone from lake room leave you in awe. For a family this rental has everything, from nature to modern streaming services and game room for kids. i highly would suggest anyone who wants a lake getaway to use this rental.

What a wonderful place! The views, beautiful lake front, lots of space, and a super friendly community. The bed was so comfortable I wrote down the model because we need a new one at home. Everything was fantastic!
