Dawlish provides all you need for everyday life, including a nice selection of stores, restaurants, and cafés, as well as a small cinema. On the Dawlish River, Dawlish is famed for its Black Swans, who live alongside other wildfowl. During the summer, strings of coloured lights illuminate the water that runs through the central town park and down to the sea. Dawlish is a great place for a family vacation because it has a nice sandy beach and a crazy golf course nearby. Dawlish Warren, farther up the coast, can be accessed by car, train, or a strenuous walk up the sea wall for the more active. Dawlish mainline station, located further away, offers train service to Exeter, Exmouth, Torquay, Paignton, and even Plymouth.
