El lobby del Hotel se muy bonito, pero los habitaciones son muy antiguas
La ubicación muy buena, cerca del centro de Guadalajara.
Que el hotel es un poco antiguo y no me agradó que las almohadas tenían olor a sudor.

Sadly not good experience
I had a nice view. The stuff was nice. The room was clean except for the floors. But the bathroom has mould.
One previous comment explained it very well. It’s just not 4 stars for Europe. It’s really old hotel. Although the renovation looks more recent as the furniture they had inside. My bed consisted on a platform and two mattresses one put on the other. The pillows had really strange filling, as if just some material were cat to peace’s and put inside. And the bed rug was really old the type you see by really old people. The valves are leaking. In the evening I didn’t have a warm water, but I got it the next day. All in all it requires renovation. And in my opinion the price of 39$ which I paid (tax excluding) was too much.

It was a stay where I didn’t feel safe going out in the area especially at night.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The surrounding area was very vandalized (graffiti and boarded up) WiFi was down and had been for a while. Though the room was clean the bathroom had mold all along the ceiling boarder and the Wood flooring in the room was cracked and coming apart in some areas.

The hotel runs like when the owner, Mr. Aquilano Cervantes R.I.P. was there!.
Friendly people and very polite and honest employees!

I believe that this property does not have an owner or the staff does not inform about the condition
I believe that this property does not have an owner or the staff does not inform about the condition of the rooms. I don't think that if the owner knew about it, she would release it before the renovation. Acceptable lobby, clean, not shabby, good design for its construction age. Good pictures of the house. This cannot bear four stars. No hair dryer, no refrigerator, the air conditioner is louder than a bad vacuum cleaner. Ragged rags instead of towels. Dirty urine/calcareous toilet. Moldy walls, floorboards, dirty bed mattress, thick mold everywhere. Such premises must not be rented out. I was afraid of further disappointment and that I would be forced to sleep in such a run-down room. After that, I didn't even book through booking.com during my trip, I just looked at the accommodation on their website, I didn't book in advance, I looked at it upon arrival, only then did I take it out.

Two nights at Hotel Cervantes
I liked the location, a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the historical center. There was a busy spot close by called Dos Templos which had convenient coffee shops and a subway station. The subway station that takes you to the central bus station is close by at the historical center plaza. I used it to get to the bus station to come back to Mexico City. The hotel is large and had a restaurant near the lobby.
The hotel description said the room had a safe, but there is none. A notice on the key folder said the hotel is not responsible for valuables unless they are put in the hotel safe. I always look for hotels with a safe in the room to lock up my passport, wallet, cash, etc. I took my stuff to the reception to put them in the hotel safe and was told there was no more space left. From the looks of it this place was an elegant hotel in its day. However the room was spacious but had a bathroom that was somewhat shabby from lack of maintenance.
