This thick walled and brightly colored Mexican home is a delight in the middle of Central Ajijic, with easy walking distance to the lake front, great restaurants, the central square and many local activities. Cool in the summer with a fireplace for cooler months creates the perfect climate for year round living. This two story house is rented as one unit or two separate units. (See Listing 2780366 for information on the Downstairs Unit) There is internet, local phone, and TV. Completely furnished and outfitted for you to move in and enjoy. The master bedroom is colorful with an AC and a large walk-in closet and a unique curved tile tub/shower in the complete bath. The bedroom is separated from the Kitchen/Lounge by a spacious and airy covered deck extending virtually the entire upper floor. The covered deck has a central 6 person open air dining table, plus a separate seating area for casual conversation/morning coffee – all with view of the central courtyard below. The small but complete Kitchen is fully equipped and adjoins the TV lounge area which has a futon couch for overnight guests. Easy walking access to all that’s happening in Ajijic makes this an ideal vacation home. Whether enjoying eating out every night in wonderful and inexpensive restaurants or just wandering the village – there is something for everyone. Location, location,. Location is what we have in our lovely Mexican paradise. The town of Ajijic is at the center of a series of small villages on the north shore of Lake Chapala perched 5000 ft above sea level and our casa is in the heart of that village. Central yet quiet (by Mexican standards!) you can walk everywhere or grab the bus or a cheap taxi to a neighboring village or into Guadalajara, 40 minutes away, which is also where the airport and bus depots are. The weather is superb year round – the best climate in the world according to National Geographic. Ajijic is a lovely cobblestone village with many good international and local restaurants, shopping and cultural activities. Almost outside our front door is the tianguis (fresh market) on Wednesdays and down the street several blocks is the Lake Chapala Society which offers cultural and language classes and many other activities. Evening walks along the Malecon (waterside walkway) remind you of both the vibrancy and the peacefulness of the Mexican way of life. Slightly further afield are the humming town and Malecon of Chapala and the Aguas Termales (hot springs) of San Juan Cosala. The Lake and gorgeous surrounding mountains offer hiking and biking opportunities. Guadalajara, a city of 8 million people, offers all the amenities and culture of a modern city. It’s an easy 3 ½ hour drive by car or bus over a good road to the beach at Manzanillo, 5 hours to Puerto Vallarta and 8 hours to Mexico City. All locations within Mexico are also accessible by plane from the nearby International Airport in Guadalajara.

The house amazing. We loved the indoor/outdoor living. Plenty of room and very well stocked for long term stays. The location to Centro is perfect and only a block or so from the lake. Very comfortable, clean, and spacious. We were very spoiled here. Dee and Ken are great hosts. Very responsive and excellent communications.
