Inside your retreat, soaring ceilings, exposed beams, stone accents, and wood floors create a rustic-chic lodge vibe, while large windows showcase beautiful lake views. Unwind and watch a movie in the living area or break out the provided board games for some good old-fashioned fun. Detailed with a stylish green tile backsplash and a full suite of stainless steel appliances, the well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals for your entire group. The adjacent stone cottage offers two additional sleeping areas, a dining area, and a wet bar. Enjoy pretty lake views while spending time together on the cozy screened porch, outfitted with twinkling patio lights. This outdoor space includes a heat lamp, alfresco dining, and ample seating. You’ll also find a firepit in the yard - perfect for conversations under the stars. WHAT’S NEARBY Your home is situated on Platte Lake, a fantastic inland lake that offers kayak access to Lake Michigan. Hiking, canoe rentals, and rail-to-trails are also nearby. For fun outings, practice your swing at Champion Hills Golf Course, catch a movie at the Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theater, and enjoy Thursday evening free concerts in Beulah. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Crystal Mountain, Frankfort, and Glen Arbor can all be reached in no time. THINGS TO KNOW The fireplace is not operable. This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 5 vehicles. Dock details: The dock may be used for loading and unloading. Please do not leave boats tied to the dock when not in use. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

I had friends visiting from California and Montana and wanted to show off Michigan's beautiful lakes and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The house was perfect in every way with a beautiful porch and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Platte Lake is charming with great access to dining, Lake Michigan, Glen Arbor and the Dunes. We could have stayed for a week!

Our family, 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a tween, spent 5 glorious days here and cannot wait to return. The house came appointed with everything you'd need--from towels to all the cooking amenities needed. 2 SUPs and 2 kayaks made for easy enjoyment of the lake that is mere steps away. We brought our bikes and spent leisurely days enjoying the extensive bike paths near the house.

We loved this house and location. The beds were comfy and the house was clean and well stocked. It was close to sleeping bear dunes and other places to hike or swim. The house comes with kayaks and paddle board’s but no life vests so we were not comfortable with the kids using them. My biggest complaint is Vacasa (the management company). When we arrived at check in the front door handle was broken. I called, emailed and messaged Vacasa and could not get through to a person. Luckily we were able to get in the back door. Vacasa did not respond until the next day! We let them know that we could not use the front door and they said they would send someone out to fix it. 4 days later, the morning we are checking out, a maintenance man calls to come fix it. The house is great, but if you have any problems or need a quick response, Vacasa will not be helpful and whoever you do eventually speak to has most likely never been to the house or the area.

Cabin has that great combination of modernized and old school feel. Perfect launching point for all things in the area. New to the rental market I would suggest that the secondary cabin have air conditioning added to improve comfort and air flow. Also a mooring buoy for boats would make this perfect since the owners keep their boat at the dock. Loved this place !

Our family made some great memories staying on Platte Lake. The property had a couple kayaks and paddle boards to use on the lake. The location of the house isn’t far from Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and other fun attractions. The house is very comfortable and relaxing. I would have given five stars but the property has a rodent problem that the owners are currently addressing and there are a few recommendations that I’m sure they will address this being a new property rental for them.

Cozy and spacious lake front home with a beautiful view and separate cottage to accommodate more guests. We would rate this home higher than 3 star, but there were some hiccups we experienced during our stay. Since this location was a new listing, I am sure they will work out the kinks for future guests to enjoy.
