The location is great. The walk ability is wonderful. The hotel however is in need of an entire renovation. There are two parts of the hotel. The main building rooms were good. However the other building on the other side of the breezeway with rooms directly overlooking the ocean are im desperate need of renovations.

WARNING - if you are looking for a quite place to stay this hotel is NOT the place to stay!
We had four nights at the hotel and three of the nights there was very loud music until 3AM.
Maybe the hotel should warn guests of this before making a booking.

Will not recommend to anyone. To expensive for the type of hotel.

This place is a beautiful although slightly run down historic hotel in a perfect location. The run down part just adds to the charm. It is clean, the staff literally can not be better (Shameka sp? is just the best). We will return to St. Croix annually and will stay only one place.

Check in process is poor and non-personal. Room access is subject to unwanted guests

There was a hidden charge of $35.00 of electricity that I dient expected to have during my stay.

The pool was green. There was too much noise. The area was nice with lots of restaurants.

The room was clean and well air conditioned. it is an old hotel that needs quite a bit of work. Staff was friendly, pool was out of service. checking in was a challenge. get ready to wake up bright and early (0330 - 0500). The chickens start crowing at 3:30 am right outside the window. I was on business so didn't spend much time there, but definitely would not be my first choice for a vacation rental.

Worse hotel experience I have ever had. First there was no Air Conditioning and we sweated all night. There were holes in the ceiling and floor. The fire alarm system battery was failing and there was chirping all night. Only positive was that the ladies that worked there were very friendly, they simply had their hands tied. It made a trip in paradise a waste of money.

WIFI is TRASH. TV needs WIFI to work. Dragging a suitcase up multiple stairscases is NOT for seniors! Roosters star WAY TOO EARLY!

If only I could submit photos of the ACTUAL property you will see! Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK THIS ROOM!!! Go to the Caravelle or Kings Christian. The rooms have inches of dust, the windows don’t close allowing all kinds of bugs and insects in, the floor boards move under your feet making you feel like you could fall through the floor at any moment, there’s ROACHES, the TV in my room didn’t work, theres no on site restaurant or bar (like they say in the comments), the pool is a dead man’s zone, I showered with my shoes on until I saw a roach then I zipped my suitcase up and called EXPEDIA for my refund, which they kindly gave me. Then I walked my but right to Caravelle and received the absolute best service ever!! Please do not stay here save yourself the stress! EVEN THE LOCALS WILL SAY “WHY DID YOU STAY THERE???!!!”

The building is in utter disrepair. Three of us traveled for work and our female coworker was in a room where the windows could not be closed. The tv’s didn’t work and the pool is open and empty against code compliance. One room had wooden floors with large gaps between the floor boards. Refund was requested as we had to move to a different hotel.

Check in was a little different. The was nobody at the front desk. we had to call and get a code to the door and get our key.
Pool was not filled
Room was not cleaned properly, Old soda and water bottles underneath the bed.
Staff had to bring us towels as they were not left after "said cleaning"

It was a wonderful experience to stay in a hotel built in 1756. It would be a great experience to try the elevator so I hope it gets restored and It wood save from using the stairs if you have problems. Wonderful location great beach and great food. We wish we could have stayed longer.

First to all, I get the “best” room with sea sight with a great bed. Everything start when I trying to close curtains got broken once, toilet it doesn’t work, bathroom dirty, damage and torn towels and overall service it was awful.

The hotel has an excellent location which is close to the waterfront, shops, historic sites and restaurants in downtown Christiansted. It can get noisy at night due to proximity to waterfront bars. Rooms are basic and clean. The hotel is a historic building with a lot of charm. It is still in restoration so there are some areas that are less charming. It a good, economic alternative .

Property is not as advertised. They do not have Continental Breakfast or a usable swimming pool. The headboard on the bed was broken making it impossible to sit up in bed to watch TV or read. The towels were torn and the curtains were damaged and would not close properly. The coffee pot had the wrong carafe so it was necessary to hold it up against the filter basket or it would overflow.Once the coffee was made, I discovered there were no cups. It is very noisy being and old building. (Not their fault). Also, the roosters start crowing outside the window at 3:00AM. (Also not their fault). I stayed 2 nights but never saw an employee of the hotel. The office hours are 9:30AM to 11:30AM and I was there on business, leaving at 8:00AM and returning after 5:00PM. I have visited this area before, staying at other hotels which I found much nicer and much more reasonable even during the busy season. This hotel is extremely overpriced which explains why it was one of the few choices available on short notice. I have been traveling for business weekly, for almost 40 years and found this to be one of the most disappointing hotels I've ever stayed in.

To be fair, everything is pretty difficult, unreliable, and run down on St. Croix. Its obvious this hotel used to be really hopping and cool, but covid has changed things. Check in is kind of difficult, requiring a call to an "emergency number." The building is very old (ca 1753), so it is not well insulated or modern. Be aware, there seems to be no hot water, and local roosters make noise all day and night...and are very loud. The power went out twice while we were there, which makes for very hot rooms. It is in a great location, but that's about it.

I didn’t like anything about the property, no parking no front desk clerk, you have to walk down a long alley from the government parking lot, if I stay there during the week, I’ll have to pay to park. If you’re out late night, and have to walk to the hotel, there’s a possibility that you might get rob.

The room was way too small, there were towels from the previous person, and there were roaches in my room.

Had done a check-in review where room hadn't been cleaned...so seeing the room the put me in, had a lovely view of the bay. It is a unique hotel, which you can tell is a few older homes. That have this great entertaining/bar area, but it wasn't open with covid stuff. Make sure if you get upstairs rooms, that you can navigate. Room 36 had a small spiral staircase up to the bedroom/loft. A larger person couldn't get up this...plus the only bathroom is downstairs. Pretty cool older property within walking distance of 10 good places to eat/drink.

I LOVED THE ROOM WE WERE IN, WE COULD SET IN BED AND HAVE COFFEE WHILE WATCHING THE BOATS IN THE HARBOR.I WISH THEIR POOL WAS IN SERVICE BECAUSE I LOVE TO USE A POOL WHEREVER WE GO.ALSO THEY WHERE IN THE PROCESS OF CLEAN UP AROUND THE BACK OF HOTEL. THE RESTUARANTS AROUND THE HOTEL ARE FABULOUS

The property was beautiful with old island charm but in great need of renovation (paint & thicker walls)to be fully realized.
Entrance was hard to find at night so arrive early.
Best suited for adults.
