Although the rooms are somewhat dated, our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff was friendly and proximity to UCLA medical was appreciated. We will definitely stay again.

I've stayed several times at the Royal Palace due to its terrific location in Westwood and its relatively affordable rates. It has a funky exterior vibe and entry, but the rooms are large, comfortable and clean, and I have not had trouble with noise (exterior or interior). It also has free parking (many spaces are very tight - but mostly manageable).

Friendly staff- had room with two queens and a balcony- it's fabulou for a basic room. Free parking which is awesome.

We stayed here overnight for a college visit to UCLA. We weren't sure what to expect since the hotel has a 2-star rating, but we were pleasantly surprised. The suite was large, clean, and quiet. The room included parking and a continental breakfast. The location and price were perfect for our short stay. We were able to walk around to the campus and nearby restaurants in Westwood Village. We would recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay near UCLA and want to save money.

Parking is very problematic. There were numerous guests complaining that they had no place to park their vehicles. The staff was rude at checkin and the room/bathroom is very small. The bathroom window did not close all the way so there was cold air coming in all night. The free breakfast is a complete joke. They have very limited options (bagels & cereal). The toaster didn't work and the milk was old. Also, there is no seating in the breakfast room.

Hotel was perfect. We stayed because my husband had procedure at the VA medical facility. Very convenient to the VA, and saved an early morning fight with traffic. The room was very nice and a great price for the neighborhood. Free parking was a great convenience. The spaces are a little tight and hard to park, but otherwise great. Handy to have the fridge and microwave in the Jr. Suite.

Convenient location to access restaurants and entertainment, all within a short walking distance. The hotel was clean although a bit dated. Parking was available and a continental breakfast was included which helped reduce costs. If in the area we would be happy to stay there again.

The very elderly gentleman who checked us in first gave us a room that hadn’t been cleaned, then he gave us a tiny rundown room with a double bed, when we had reserved a queen size bed. Then on the second day, we came back to our room after being out all day just to find out our keys no longer worked and the second clerk downstairs acted like he didn’t know we were staying there for two days so they had locked us out of our room . The old man that helped us at the counter initially was extremely rude and talked over me when I was trying to be as polite as possible with him that actual room had discolored paint and was not updated .

I had a very enjoyable stay. The interior looks slightly outdated but it being clean and well kept in a good area right by UCLA mattered more to me. I didn’t park a car but Uber is great. The bed was comfy and the double queen room was spacious. The staff was friendly. Would recommend for the price

This hotel looks a little worn and old when you first enter, but I was surprised at how comfortable and accommodating the room was. Bed was comfortable, we had fridge, microwave, coffee maker and safe. Nice balcony was a surprise. TV was large with average selection of channels. Hotel staff was friendly. Free parking! The location was fantastic, very short walk to Westwood Village with dozens of shops, restaurants even a Target and Trader Joe’s. We had to extend our stay unexpectedly and they were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again! For the price it had everything we needed

3rd time staying at this property. The experience and room was consistent with previous visits; clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient to the UCLA med center and other Westwood amenities.

This was my only time in the US that I was addressed as "Sir" most frequent in 32 years without making any mistakes if you know what I mean. (People call me Sir when is did something wrong like, "Sir, you need to wait behind the yellow line!") Although the outside and lobby won't win the beauty contest, the room is very nice. I also got a free upgrade. The bathroom was newly renovated. It was under 200 but worth 400. Worth every penny! If you beed a room near UCLA, this is THE one.

Great location and comfortable property. A bit of updated maintenance would go a long way to improving the look and comfort. Wallpaper coming off the bathroom wall and shower fittings need attention in Room 102. Nice that it has an elevator!

This was a great location for visiting my daughter at UCLA. We were able to leave our car and walk around Westwood. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Some of the property features are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Room had all the amenities we needed.

This hotel is in a good location but the facility is located behind several restaurants which have garbage cans next to the hotel. The dirty water flow out from the kitchen and garbage cans. It was not a pleasant experience. The staff was nice but the hotel carpet was dirty and old. The room AC was not working properly at all and the room smells not good. We had to turn off the AC completely and opened the windows. The toilet was leaking water from the bottom and it was not a good experience at all. Not sure why other people rated high on this hotel.
