The hotel and location were really great. Clean, modern, great reception, great lifts....
The only thing that was almost unacceptable was the sink in the bathroom. brand new but the length of the tab was too short, i.e. the tab just reached into the sink (bowl) making impossible to wash your hands.
The whole thing resulting in me having to wash my hand under the shower which resulted in much more effort thean necessary....

Rydges serves a purpose in being the closest hotel to the Brisbane Convention Centre. But never in all my years travelling have I had a housekeeper enter my room while I was in the bathroom having a shower and ask whether I wanted housekeeping. The fact that it was 8.30am in the morning and I was getting ready for a conference defeats the whole purpose of staying there. Never again.

We would definitely recommend for a quiet, comfortable, and central stay right at the conference center. The food was excellent and the breakfast very tasty. The beds were so comfy I slept better than at home! The room we had was very spacious, with excellent amenities.

Great hotel but absolutely shocking service with hotels.com. I need a receipt to be reimbursed by my company and it's been over a week chasing it. It hasnt been emailed to me and trying to phone the landline with my details and the robot is saying it cant find my booking. Going in circle. It's just an horrific customer service. Never again.

Room was spacious, was a shame about the view of a roof and wall Of building next door given we booked many months in advance. Breakfast was great.

Good hotel is great location, but service was not good. Check in staff were friendly, but when trying to order room service, no one was answering the phone. Went down to reception to ask for bucket of ice, as no one answering calls. After 30 min still no ice arrived so had to go down a second time, with the lady at reception being extremely rude.

Walking distance to a lot of dinning and entertainment. However the best dinning is experienced right there at Rydges. Everyone was so helpful from the moment we were greeted and assisted with our luggage, to the wonderful table service and delicious meal. Thank you everyone at Rydges.

Disturbed sleep - tv came on twice overnight ?who programmed that. Squeaky door to ? Housekeeping room next door - frequent opening and closing from ?6am

Rydges was terrific! Great location, walking distances to restaurants, south bank, entertainment centres. Comfortable and clean. Great staff.

The staff at Rydges were very friendly and helpful. I loved the location, and surprisingly, the dining at the hotel was very good. We loved the breakfast buffet, and having a pool was the cherry on top! Pity that the pool closes so early ie 6pm. If it closed a little later, especially during school holidays, that would have been better for the kids. Although being so close to Parklands is great too. But sometimes, it does get quite busy there.
Venue was clean and the facilities were very good.
So many dining options in the surrounding Parklands area.
Will definitely stay there again on our next trip!

we chose the hotel for location and a,pool but alas the pool was not in use. That was dissapointing. Thank fully we found the beach across the road. Facilities wernt good. it advertised a spa but the gym has no spa and it seemed thst the sauna was turned off. We didnt eat at the hotel as breakfast was hugely expensive. The room however was great and we appreciated the extra made up bed. The beds were the most comfoftable ive ever stayed in. We only stayed one night but if had booked longer i would have cancelle d on the basis that there wasnt a pool in use.

Close to transport, dining options and good area for families. Toilet seat was broken and it was impossible to fit a drink bottle under tap to fill up so had to buy water to drink. Overall a good stay with just a few minor things for improvement.

It was ok, they only offered valet parking which was $55 or said you could park up the road at the convention centre. It was an extremely hot day and the air conditioner in the room wasn’t working so had to get maintenance to come and fix it.

The room was clean and a cery convenient spot.
I booked and paid extra for a Riverview room, and from the room i looked at the back of a building.
The on duty manager would not refund me for the difference i paid.
Would still like some sort of renumeration or discount on my next booking.

the only option was valet parking, which wasnt something that i am after. i prefer to be able to park myself and able to access my car anytime.
i ended up parking in a near by car park where i had to pay per entry.

The night of our stay the hotel had lost power. We were not advised of this prior to arrival or we would have not stayed. We had no air-con and half the lights and outlets weren't working. I made a complaint on the 4th January via email directly with Rydges South Bank about the night of our stay. I received a response that same day which I was very happy with, advising we would be refunded in full for our stay. I was advised the refund would be processed in 5-10 business days. It has now been over that time-frame and I have attempted to contact them twice via email over the last few days and no response.
I made another complaint via their website and will see what happens.
It is a shame as the hotel itself in the past has been great to deal with and facilities are great. I didn't write a review about the power outage initially as out of their control however, now I am a bit frustrated and hopefully this review will be seen and dealt with.

The guys on arrival come straight up to you asking for your keys. I said I’m ok I’ll check in and park it myself. He replies, no we park all the cars here for the customers and proceeded to give me a small numbered ticket to which I said was a great service and thank you.
Little did I know that it was $55 dollars a day!!!
I found this out 4 days later at check out. My car was $35 a day and the hotel completely blindsided me with $55 a day for 4 days that I drove 3 times. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION

The location and facility are excellent. The staff are friendly but the service was very poor. Frequently our calls to reception went unanswered. We waited over an hour for a blanket to be delivered. The pool was closed and the spa broken. For a family getaway this was very disappointing. Our room was missing many items, including soap and it took some time to have it available. Would recommend considering one of the many other close by hotels. I did ask to speak to someone about the concerns but was brushed aside.

Had a power/water outage for several so unable to use what we paid for and offered no compensation no real updates when they had access to our mobiles.

Hotel and the room are ok, service and personnel were rude and unable to handle a power outage situation.
We stayed for one day and the hotel did not have power, just emergency power. we arrived at 6pm and room was not ready yet, front desk rudely offered a "refund" which was not helpful last minute. We were finally checked in around 10:30pm, there was no AC through the night and rooms were hot.
While the power outage was not controllable by hotel staff, they were rude and unprofessional in all interactions and unable to manage the situation.

The property is in a great location for dining, entertainment, and public transportation options. The property itself seemed clean and the staff was friendly. We chose to depart a day early due to an unfortunate loss of electricity and water beyond the hotel’s span of control. The staff did a great job holding lights in the stairwells for families to navigate while the elevators were down due to the electrical issue. Our room became quite warm and we didn’t have the ability to shower or use the toilet, so we asked for a refund before departing to a different hotel. We were advised to request our refund through Expedia since we did not book directly with the hotel, so we will soon start the refund process through Expedia.

Very poor service. hotel linen was not changed and we always had confused staff who made mistakes.They could not handle the big public holidays and it looked that they were poorly trained and also they were under staff.Very less than I expected for the Rydges hotel Brand

Location and presentation was great.
Buffet breakfast was great. Unfortunately our TV had problems that we had to get resolved 2 times.

Power outage happened 4am in morning stuck in lift no breakfast available even after we paid for it no customer service available absolutely apourling will not be staying at Rydges Southbank ever again

My only disappointment was I wanted to pay with 2 different Visa cards regrettably the staff didn’t know how to do it and said she who check with her supervisor when I checked out That didn’t happen I paid the full amount with my Westpac Visa The other card was An ONLY 1 Visa

Great location. But the staff member at the pool bar was one of the most rudest people that ive ever come accross to the point we were scared of him. I complained about him to front desk but it didnt go anywhere. The Pool was closed during a heatwave. Even after calling before arriving to confirm the sofa bed was not set up on arrival so we waited 5 hours to get it by then my 4 year old son had fallen asleep on the lounge after a long day of travel. Shower was left in a position that when turned we almost burnt ourselves. Worst stay, worst hotel, DONT stay there. Would not recommend.
