Honestly, very disappointing. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we planned this supposedly amazing trip and unfortunately was far below average. We've vacationed with Barcelo for nearly 25 years and have never complained until now, the quality & service is what kept us coming back. The adults only resort was run down and didn't match the internet expectations. We chose to downgrade to the Palace because we knew the quality was far superior than this upcharged Adults Only Resort Room. Room was dingy & dirty. We explained to multiple management that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and not one even bothered to say congrats or thanks for celebrating with us. We will not be back to this resort and will think twice about booking or referring others to Barcelo after this negative experience. Sincerely- Heather & Jeff White

Everything is fantastic, but the food is very bad.

Open beaches. Variety of food. Bartenders fun and gave great service. Stayed at Beach but found activities and atmosphere more fun on Palace side. Expected more entertainment and poolside game / music n dancing on adult side. Had trouble finding events like dance, yoga, stretch. Overall enjoyed the Dominican climate

The staff was friendly. There was one lady, her name was maria, she worked mornings at the buffet in the adults only, she was so cheery. The pool was nice. I just found it odd that the adults only side didnt have a swim up bar but the side with kids did. For the rooms, the bathrooms were a bit small, the shower had glass wall so the water wouldnt go on the floor, that should of went back further because water still ended up on the floor. I would stay here again. It was a fun time

They did not gave us a VIP treat I asked what is the difference between VIP and regular, and the answer was yes, the room grade, but the refrigerator was worse than the other rules, he didn’t have nothing special, only three beers

The property itself was very beautiful. I was not impressed with the rooms, to me they didn’t feel clean. Tub was very dirty sheets didn’t feel clean.

Old buildings, water leaked from the room on top of us, they tried to fix it but it didn’t work. They didn’t change the room they didn’t care! I do t recommend at all!

I liked that we were able to go to the palace and have dinner and the use of their facilities

The staff at Barceló Bávaro Beach - Adults Only were excellent and always went the extra mile. The property and facilities were thoughtfully designed and it was very easy to get around the resort. There was a pretty good selection of restaurant's included but getting reservations was a bit of an inconvenience as most of the hours between 6 and 8 PM were booked. The beaches and pool area were beautiful and convenient even though our room was at the far north end of the compound. Any complaint or inconvenience as far as housekeeping was addressed by their staff in very timely manner We would definitely stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach - Adults Only again.

Rooms are outdated and need improvements. The tub showers are dangerous. Had I have known the palace was so close and the rooms were much nicer I would have booked there as there are more amenities and food options and just went down to the adults only side if I needed it more quiet for a day. Staff was super friendly-food buffets were average. La comedie and chez gourmet restaurants were amazing! We enjoyed our stay in Punta Cana.

Not what I expected it was ok. They made me wait over 40 minutes at the gate when I left the resort and came back via a motorcycle taxi

Food was not great. However service was great. It was n birthday so they delivered a cake to my room. So nice!

I loved my one week vacation at the Barcelo Bavero Beach. The beach was beautiful and so were the people there. I would definitely recommend it and return there. See below for some of my observations. - [ ] Drinks not consistent at the different bars - [ ] Food at la Brisa is the best - {} my favourite shows in the evening were Michael Jackson and the circus. - [ ] Some food and desserts should have more ingredient details to account for people with allergies. There were many foods that I did not try that did not have names, written, or details about the ingredients. - [ ] Rooms very clean -we received an upgrade with jacuzzi on balconies. Room more upgraded and clean but no bathroom fans. They relie on ceiling fan so rooms are musty - [ ] Staff are very nice and attentive but most struggle with languages not Spanish - [ ] So many lovely spots set up to sit and talk, relax or play cards with a drink. - [ ] Place feels very secure with cameras and security guards stationed around the property.

A bit dated. Language barrier. Not a bad getaway for the money but definitely not luxurious.

The rooms are very outdated there was a strong smell of humidity and mold in our room. Had a hard time opening the door to our room. Some of the staff were really nice but others were rude. We weren’t allowed to play our speaker around the poo. Security actually told us to turn it off. Adults only?? was more like seniors citizens only. If you are looking for a younger adult vibe this is definitely not the place for that. The place had very little to no entertainment at all. The food at the buffet was pretty good. Nice size pool. Nice beach. I’m definitely not coming back to this hotel.

Don't come here! The all-inclusive Barcelơ Bavaro Beach/Palace has fake reviews. We got fooled by them... We stayed here for 7 nights for the first time. All inclusive doesn't mean it'sall-inclusive. You have to pay $15 per person extra at the Japanese, Italian, Mexican and Spanish restaurants. Also $35 per person for the French restaurant. At the buffet, the service is less than mediocre. Most of the employees expect you to tip them even for mediocre service. Rooms are outdated. The beach is OK, but you have to find your own beach bed and there are no beach umbrellas. You have to find your own shade under the coconut trees. Don't expect that anyone will come to bring you drinks at the beach. You have to walk a few minutes at the pool bar to get your drinks. Adults only means adults only, but at the beach, we were surrounded by local families with dozens of kids. The security guard let's them enter the resort beach to use it.... so much for quiet and relaxing. All in all, we feel that for the money that we paid, we did not get a full memorable experience.Lastly, a word of caution.Today, Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, we checked out of the resort room 3088. Accidentally forgot behind a piece of clothing in the room's wardrobe. Tried to retrieve it, and we were not successful. The cleaning personnel claimed to not have found it. Very dishonest. The front desk manager was very dismissive and unhelpful.

No entertainment and if you had entertainment it was for 1 hour.

Honestly, it was just OKAY. Not Terrible, not great. Food was hit or miss, as many others have said. Beach was not as pretty as the pictures. Room was outdated. But overall, it was a relaxing time.

The staff was always friendly and said hello always.

We did enjoy the beach, but we did not receive “premium” enjoyment. Our hotel room door was broken, construction was going on early morning hours in the next room, and my husband unfortunately left his wallet in the safe and when we called they said “it wasn’t there.” Pretty crappy way to end our trip. Send his wallet back! You can’t use it! We’ll pay for shipping. Jesus.

Grounds were spotless and staff went out of their way to help you. All the food was excellent and buffet always had a different variety. Only downfall was smoking was allowed in all the common areas. There were no areas by the pool or bars designated for no smoking.

One word just excellent

The property was lovely. Great grounds, good food, comfy bed and pillows. Tiles in room were dated but overall nice room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good was better than I expected.

The check-in staff was rude, room fridge was not working, A/C stopped working (took over a day to fix), remote stopped working (tried 4 times to resolve & gave up), no chair at desk. Towels not replaced. Beach chairs were all taken by 8 am, yet most remained empty most of the day. Only able to make dinner reservations for 4 nights (unless we wanted to eat at 10PM). Beach was beautiful at southern end, dropped off quickly at northern end.

Pros: close to the airport, major destination, super clean, everyone is friendly and accommodating. Food is good, a lot of activities. Cons: they do not do enough to curb people “reserving” lounge chairs. Multiple lounges will be taken by towels with no people in sight for HOURS making it impossible for other people to enjoy the space. Staff tries to upsell you the second you check in and they failed to confirm our airport transfer so we had to rush and pay someone extra to take us. Very annoying. But otherwise great experience.

We have stayed at this property twice in the past (2019 and 2020). We came back again because of our previous experience was good. This time, however, we noticed a couple of areas that could use improvement. The issue most evident was the lack of service in the buffet restaurant. It seems they are short of staff. Most times we were more than half way through the meal before any service was provided (water was mostly what we were looking for). For breakfast, most days, we served ourselves coffee from the machine. It was also difficult at times to find a table that was cleared and reset. For dinner, the options for entrees were limited. Halfway through the week, we discovered that the Paradise buffet had a much better selection, so we went there instead. The service was much better there also. Positive regarding the Adults only buffet: The lady cooking breakfast was an absolute sweetheart. Always smiling and happy and made me a fantastic omelet every morning.

Not enough chairs on the beach , rooms old and not clean, need to be update. Stuff is not very friendly!

The grounds were very pretty, but the rooms are in dire need of renovation. Most of the staff cannot communicate in English making it difficult to even get a towel, (which I didn’t have the first 3 days of my stay and had to do to the lobby to get for myself). The food was less than desirable in the adult only section, it was better on the family side, but then you had to listen to kids screaming crying & unsupervised. I won’t be going back for sure. **Also it “says” all inclusive, but it was NOT!

Adult only side is much quieter and worth it! Amazing staff.

This resort, especially the Adults Only Beach side, felt like we were among friends. Can’t wait to go back. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that the only beer you can get is Presidente on tap. I am a beer drinker, but keg beer gives me a headache, and the beer I did get was not very cold (regardless of where I got it from on the property). Barceló needs to carry more beer, in bottles and/or aluminum bottles/cans. They would save money because instead of drinking beer, I drank Scotch for 7 days.
