A good 3 stars hotel close to Grand Bazar. The breakfast was also very good

Good Hotel with nice service and personal.. The Breakfast was good too.

The service was fantastic, the rooms were very nice- spacious and very modern- the free breakfast was great. And the location is unbeatable.

Booking was lost however staff quickly arranged alternate accommodation at a hotel close by, paid for the taxi and return in the morning. A bit inconvenient but handled well be the staff. Room smallish but otherwise ok. We had a room at the front which was noisy in till about midnight.

Close to the water....very good English speaking....extra helpful!

Rather cramped for two and sound insulation disappointing so prone to noise. But cleaned every day and fresh linen provided. Hot water good. Breakfast OK but rather monotonous.

I'll start by saying the FREE breakfast was probably the best I've had at any hotel, bar none. Several cheeses, pears, bananas, omelettes with sausage, pastries of bakery quality, everything beautifully arranged. Then there is the location... We walked to the Grand Bazaar, New Mosque, Galata Bridge. Maybe it was the town, maybe it was the hotel, but Istanbul is now one of my favorite cities in the world. I WANT MORE!

The best thing abt this hotel is ies location. Its 2 mins from the tram station n there's a 24 hr convenient store right in front.

Good value for the money and in a great, quiet location!

The place was really easy to get to from the Cemberlitas tram stop, but from there on, everything about the Golden Crown was disappointing. The service was disinterested (if not contemptuous). The room was small and had only been superficially cleaned. I had requested a double bed, and got two tiny twins separated by a night stand. It stank of smoke, and one of the first things I saw was a large insect crawling on my pillow. Breakfast was the most disappointing (cold eggs, bad fruit) that we had in Turkey. Maybe most frustrating was that they advertised a 5-Euro shuttle to the airport, but when we asked about it (the day before), they said, "So sorry, it's full," without acting particularly concerned or offering any suggestions or alternatives. The much cheaper budget hostel where we stayed earlier in our trip was superior in almost every regard. Go with that option if you visit Istanbul.

The front Deck person a woman with red hair forget her name was wonderful.

The hotel is in a great location to the train and the main attractions. The only thing I didn't like about my room was that the room was always pretty hot. Thankfully every night was pretty chilly so we were able to keep the window open to get a breeze.

Would recommend staying at this hotel, friendly staff, great location.

We were assigned to a really tiny room the first night and the minute you opened the door you smell smoke, shower tiles were molded, bathroom was extremely tight spaced. We had 2 persons with a twin room but there was hardly any room for us to put the luggage. We complained to the staff and they promised to change room the next day. The new room we got was far better than the previous one, room was spacious, air was not stuffy, bathroom in fairly good condition. I wish we could spend another night there, thanks to the commodating staff.

ideally located , a bit hilly and not for faint hearted but easy access from metro and also in easy distance to blue mosque and main tourist centre. Staff were friendly and helpful , hotel was clean and comfortable

This is my second time staying at this hotel. It is a very convenient location, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. If you arrive by cab, have the phone number for the hotel as the cab drivers don't know every hotel in Istanbul.

Hotel was adequate. Only was here overnight. Arrived about 3:30 a.m. and they were up with door open. Later in a.m. advised me of a shuttle back t heairport and ordered it right away. appreciated that.

This hotel is a small hotel in the heart of the tourist district of Istanbul. The hotel staff was very nice, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The price of this hotel is good which is why we booked it. According to what you pay, it is a good deal. It is not a 5 star luxury hotel, but if you are looking for a descent hotel for not a lot of money, this is perfect.... The location makes it perfect because it is within walking distance to all the major attractions like the Grand Bazaar and the Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) There was a grocery store across the street from the hotel, and a nice refridgerator in the room where we keep cold drinks and snacks. The hotel laundry service was reasonable, and quick. The paper indicated that clothes left for cleaning and pressing would be returned the next day, but that night when we returned from walking, everything was in the room, cleaned and pressed.

Good points...location (within walking distance of many sites and good restaurants), room was clean and of decent size for European hotel, staff tried to very helpful when possible. Bad points.....air conditioner did not work well, only the desk clerk spoke English, "room service" is basically a choice of a cheese sandwich plain or with tomatoes and cucumbers (but very good!). I was not allowed to have a visitor come to my room without paying extra even though they were only there 1 hour!!! If you are on a budget, then this hotel is okay.

This hotel is in an excellent location for all the attractions, with the Grand Bizarre, Blue Mosque, St Sophia and the sea no more than 10 minutes walk in any direction. The Hotel staff are very helpful and very accommodating. The only down side is that it is very noisy at night as the traffic past the hotel is constant and the drivers seem to hoot at anything.

Good overall hotel, keen, attentive and friendly staff. Decent breakfast, compact but comfortable room. No problems experienced, a bit miffed that there was no dinner available.

If you're going to be out sightseeing all day then this hotel is a great option as somewhere just to sleep and eat breakfast. Very good location as it is right in the middle of Sultanahmet and so near lots of the famous sites. Staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were comfortable and very clean although they did seem to get quite smoky at night if people were smoking downstairs in the reception.
