This is a very traditonal hotel in the best sense of that word. The rooms are spacious and we had one with a great view towards Robin Hoods Bay. We had dinner and breakfast and both were very good.

A great stay, it was only for one night, but the views when having breakfast were amazing. We also walked down near the coast path for a look at the seals.
I think the decor is slightly dated now, but the rooms were clean enough.

Very nice hotel with an ambiance from the good old days. The view was fantastic, the pool experience great.
The food and drinks at the bar and restaurant are way overpriced and of poor quality.

We just decided to treat ourselves to a night away and so pleased we chose Raven Hall. Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. public areas were comfortable and had lovely views of the bay. Gardens were a pleasant walk but a bit muddy with all the rain. I imagine in summer they are stunning.

We had a lovely weekend away. The bed, the breakfast, the setting and the service were brilliant. Thank you

We stayed 2 nights in a dog friendly room, my husband was running an ultra marathon. It was a very wet & muddy weekend so it was very stressful trying to keep the cream carpet clean. There was no exit close to the room for overnight dog toilet visits so we had to go right through the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious with a lovely sea view. We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was very good, only complaint, there was only one option for vegetarian main course. The service was excellent, all staff were friendly and helpful and made it a very pleasant stay. The location of the hotel is amazing and it's a shame that the communal areas are quite tired and in need of refurbishment. Despite this we would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a lovely two night stay in one of the 3rd floor rooms with a bay view. The staff are very friendly, hard working and helpful. It is an older but impressive building. The food was very good and the buffet breakfast plentiful with options. Only slight gripe was a limited choice of draft beers. There was a problem with our TV in that we could only get one channel. They tried hard to remedy this but it appears the outside aerial was at fault. The weather was too bad for anyone to go on the roof and apparently ours was the only room affected. These things happen.

We paid 120.00 for a double room.
Unfortunately the fire escape door from the corridor was between our bathroom and bedroom then out to fire escape. How bizarre!
This then meant the view from the small window in our room was mostly the iron fire exit staircase, also looking down from our window was lots of bins.
I feel that we should not have had to pay the same as other people paid for their double room.
Had we been staying more than 1 night we would have asked to be moved. I do think that if you are allocated that room on booking you should be informed of the situation.
When checking in we were not given any information. There was no information book in the room so consequently we had to ask regarding breakfast times etc.
The positives were, the views were fabulous and the breakfast and staff in the dining room were very good.

Lovely view from my room 202.
Great staff. Lovely old building. Slightly tired but full of charm.

Incomparable view. Good food. Quiet beautiful surroundings close to other small fishing villages. Needs some upkeep; at minimum new carpets throughout.

Fantastic views and grounds, friendly staff and a delicious and varied breakfast. Room ok but looked out to the fire escape, was too warm and the bed was very uncomfortable, could do with a mattress topper, there was plenty of stirafe space though and for one night not really an issue. Would probably visit again but hopefully with a better room next time.

Great location and nice breakfast, but the rest was poor. Tired room, receptionist too uninterested to tell us about breakfast or anything else

Had a lovely few days break at the Raven Hotel with views across the bay which are breathtaking. Although some of the rooms are abit dated it was comfortably and clean, and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The food was outstanding and after a full english breakfast there are loads of walks around the property to walk it off. Would highly recommend, we will be back for another stay.

Beautiful setting. Hotel a bit shabby & shower didn’t work properly. Dinner good.
Main thing was the bedroom was FAR TOO HOT even with the radiator off & the window open. Please think about your energy consumption. However I enjoyed my stay & would return

We had a lovely stay at Raven Hall Country House Hotel.
With terrific views, it is ideally located for coastal walks to Robin Hood's Bay, but allow at least 3 h in each direction as the distance is deceptive.
A lovely bonus for us was to find seals on the rock outcrops on the beach below the hotel
Great breakfast and pleasant evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful

Good hotel if you have dogs. We got to listen to howling dogs and a dog fight!

Our stay was very comfortable, beautiful views and walks. Food was very good and service was good. Swimming pool available but sauna not in use, which was a little bit dissapointing, tennis and other games available. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves very much.

It was a 2 nights stay. The food was excellent, rooms and hotel in general a little tired. Location is amazing. The whole experience was really let down by some of the bar staff. They were clueless, and unhelpful. My wife wanted to try some gins, and asked the bartender what they had. Was unable and unwilling to tell us. Then proceeded to tell us that he didn't drink it so didn't know. As a barman, your role is to have a knowledge of the stock, to have a small amount of patience, and to be customer focused. It wasn't even busy. This was not a one off. Happening several times, with different days, orders and staff.

The location and views from the hotel are lovely. Had a nice stay should have pre-booked the leisure facilities as unable to get booked in, but overall a great stay with good food for both dinner and breakfast. It’s our 3rd time to stay and will definitely return.

Room was a little small for the price.

Fantastic stay at Ravenscar Hall Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable although a little dated. The views are stunning. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic views, however the room rate was too expensive, the rooms were run down, tired and dated. The shower dropped in temperature constantly during use, interior in desperate need of attention

Beautiful building and view and nice breakfast but - our room was not ready for us to change in before the wedding we were attending even though we were told by the Receptionist she would give us a shout when it was! In the end we had to change in two other guests bedrooms. Just before the start of the proceedings we went up to check the room ourselves and were told it was ready! So at least we didn’t have to take our cases into the wedding!

Great stay enhanced by wedding having evening firework display

We checked in on a Friday evening, and a wedding disco was in full swing. At check in we were assured we were far away from the wedding, but in fact we were at the back of the function room. The bathroom was literally under the stairs so every time someone went upstairs all we could hear was stomping. There was also a fan that ran all night, sadly not ac (the room was like a hot box), maybe from the kitchen?. The room weirdly had a door behind a door to enter, but at least this reduced noise from the lounge, although it did not reduce noise from kids trying to play the piano in the nearby sun room. The beds were very tired and the towel rail roasting hot with no off switch. The shower was underwhelming. We did ask to move rooms but were told there were none, so were given a 15% refund. This still left the room north of £120 for the night.
That all said the hotel is situated in an incredibly beautiful spot on the cliffs so worth a walk around the grounds (the walled end with the best views sadly blocked off as under repairs) but still worth a look, and breakfast was decent.
