Let's start by saying we hate Trump. Having said that the property and staff were magnificent. My only complain was that i had to quit my round of golf on the 5th hole due to 50 mph winds that tipped the pull cart 3 times. I am a 2 hcp and conditions were too windy. I asked for a refund of the green's fee and was charged for nine holes. I thought that was in poor taste for such a high-end property. It is for that reason that i cannot give the property 5 stars. Estefania Perogna indicated that they would not give the full refund. We have played golf at many properties through the World and have never had anything like that happen. We came to Ireland to get the full links weather experience, but the wind conditions were extreme. There were locals playing and their carts were tipping as well. For my personal taste i felt conditions were too extreme. I called them on the 5th hole after almost being knocked to floor from wind gust. Estefania you should reconsider your refund policy. My wife and i played the day before and it was windy and raining hard but conditions were still playable and we had fun.

The property is absolutely breathtaking. Our suite overlooked the 18th hole. The golf course is wonderful. The suite was gorgeous. We would’ve stayed longer if we could. My only recommendations is that the gift shop would be more accommodating so we didn’t have to go into town even though it was a sweet village. There were more restaurants. But overall a magical place. A special thank you to a few staff members Shannon and Jennifer at check-in and the wonderful consigner. A few other fantastic people worked in the restaurants Meadbh, Ian, Oliver, Dan the Man, Sara, Breda, and all the other waitstaff for making our experience marvelous.

Spectacular location. Arrival at the cottage per instructions no one turned up to let us in. Had to drive to reception after waiting 20 minutes to find staff. Room condition poor. Ripped and stained chair (picture) Scuffed furniture. Toilet would not flush. Not a 5 star experience. Room needs update- should not be used especially at full price.

Lovely hotel and excellent staff and service but not quite worth the price. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were lovely but the carpet was old and a bit dingy, the furniture showed wear, and there was no desk. I did really appreciate the shutters and curtains which made the room dark in the morning. It’s a bit confusing to navigate the buildings but again, everyone is very helpful.

Property is so special. Staff beyond friendly and helpful. Views are amazing, it’s right on the coast. Bed was comfortable. AC was actually cold (rare in Europe, in my experience)! It’s a huge golf destination, but I went w my spouse and it was very special. Highly recommend and worth the trek.

What an amazing hotel in a spectacular location. We stayed in one of the Links Cottages, it was outstanding. The staff at the hotel were so accommodating, nothing was a problem to them. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We will be back soon.

Im afraid the arrival experience was so bad it was detrimental to the whole stay. I believe the exact wording of the welcome my wife and I received was an irate and grumpy "what's up, in for a look is it lads". In my opinion this was the exact opposite to a warm welcome and was at best shocking behaviour. I have no idea why any person would greet us in such a manner. Upon arrival to our room I immediately went online to try and book elsewhere, but the nearest available hotel was too far away37 minutes away and as it was already late in the evening, we felt it was too late to move elsewhere and so we decided to stay and try and make the best of it. When I made the complaint to reception, which lucky for me was my first complaint ever in any hotel, the gentleman who called me back to discuss the situation, who despite being very polite, tried to down play the situation by explaining that Trump Doonbeg try not to act too formal, that unfortunately their strategdy did not work out on this particular occasion. Despite our best efforts, the "welcome" ruined our stay and overshadowed everything else.

This hotel was above our expectations. This is very much a five star hotel. The food is fabulous - especially the breakfast. You must make dinner reservations in advance! Nobody stressed the importance of that to us. Their dining rooms are very small.

I paid Expedia the full amount of two night stay in a premier ocean view suite. The room was nice overlooking the 18th hole green. However, as I was checking out, a clerk at the check out named Jennifer insisted that I only paid €1170.43, when I actually paid $$1770.48, a full amount of accommodation back in November, 2021. She insisted that the difference was what I negotiated with Expedia. When I said that the accommodation was fully paid and asked her to check for the apparent mistake, she shouted at me by saying that I was not listening to her. I left by asking her to have their accounting department contact me to explain the difference. After one week, I still have not heard from the accounting department. Overall the service was OK but far inferior to three other five star hotels I stayed. The hotel is dated and need a modernization and better customer hospitality. Upon returning home, I am telling everyone not to stay there.

It was not shared that the menu was the same no matter which choice we made.
