Beside the convenience of generally everything but there is one thing that is seriously missing, which is USB outlets or at least provide an international power adapter to guest and not simply requesting quest to purchase it from 7-11 at wee hours (which none available).

Booked a standard room with a free upgrade. When I went to upgrade the guy at reception was rude and dismissed me didn't bother to check and said automatically high season we are booked out. After 3rd night of trying to sleep in the middle of a mosh pit (Hardrock right next door blasting music) I approached the reception again saying if I can't get moved I'll cancel my booking as I'm not putting up with the sound. No hesitation (Bobby) was able to swap me out into a room further away from the noise. Room was extremely better condition to the one I was previously in. If booking a room do not book standard however I personally think for the condition of the hotel you can pay cheaper for same quality as I've stayed at multiple places in Patong Beach. Standard room bed is 2 singles pushed together so you have the uncomfortable dip in the middle. Deluxe room has a proper queen bed. Pillows are terrible they are basically a bunch of cotton balls stuffed in a case, it's all lumpy. Standard room has shower over bath where as Delux room has a walk in shower. Water pressure was good. Morning breakfast staff and cleaning staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. Variety for breakfast to choose from.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Rooms we stayed in renovated, pools and gardens very nice, nice foyer and dining area and breakfast good. Having said that it is big hotel and much parts are run down and need of major renewal. Rooms being done now and large parts of the hotel are unused. Great location and good prices available so still very good.

The pools were wonderful and the gardens were beautiful. BUT the property, as a whole is very dated and tired and partly closed down. The breakfast was rather dismal. Front desk staff were not very friendly

Great place to stay. Close to the beach with bars and food close by. Facilities are great especially the pools. Infrastructure is in need of upgrades/maintenance. Room was very nice....no complaints at all.

My husband and I have stayed at Patong Merlin many times, we love the location and the property, it was our first time in a pool access room.. and was fabulous, will definitely book same room again. The Hotel, grounds and pools are immaculately maintained. Buffet breakfast is always great. Would highly recommend to stay for a family or couple. Can't wait to go back

Great helpful staff

Great location just outside of the craziness of Patong. Housekeeping staff is great, but frontdesk could use some customer service training. Highly recommend not using any of the additional service they offer such as taxi service, money exchange etc. Because it’s overpriced compared to the offers outside the hotel.

Staff we brilliant, you felt very safe with all what they did with covid rules. Great service, lovely big swimming pools and again great friendly staff who were only to happy to help you.

Fabulous hotel with very polite and helpful staff

Amazingly beautiful gardens and quiet inside the gardens. Even though the party never stops outside the hotel the grounds are quiet and serene. It was the best of both worlds.

Central location. Although on the main road it was quiet. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Rooms a bit dated in the block where we were located. All rooms had a balcony. We didn’t use ours as it faced directly on to another building 2 metres away. Not an ideal view! Would suggest upgrading to a pool view. Wide variety of choice for breakfast. Snack bar at pool also had a good selection.

It needs a bit of an update in certain areas. Especially the room decor, not enough storage space for your clothes, Pools where in good condition .

This is a first class resort that should probably be ‘five star’. Excellent and extensive pools, luxurious and newish rooms, good beds (not slabs of granite), great gardens, relaxing lobby area etc. But (surprise, surprise!) we do have a few criticisms/disappointments. First, a minor matter: why would you design a room so that the wardrobes are inside the bathroom!? Rather peculiar! Second, the resort is a little too distant from Bangla Road and Jungceylon for our liking, especially when tuktuks now charge 200 baht (A$10) for all trips in Patong, however short. Third, we were disappointed by the location of our room. It was in Building 7. This has its own pool area which is pleasant but relatively small with very little ‘people-activity’ to watch and/or ogle. Also, the resort decided to do some serious pool renovations under our balcony while we were there. Considering that the resort was half empty, that we had booked some six months earlier and were staying for ten days, it was inconsiderate to place us in such a secondary area. We enjoyed our stay very much indeed, but would have enjoyed it more in a better location within the resort.

We liked the place and the staff, our only minor gripe was the description over bed arrangements in the rooms was confusing to read.

We paid 365 Thai baht or almost $18 Australian for 2 coffees and a small water by the swimming pool. By any measure this is excessive pricing and put us off using the bar facilities at the hotel for the rest of our stay.

not enough water pressure for Shower

1) need to improve staff customer service. When we arrive, no welcome drink at all. Staff was not accommodating, not engaging and above all not welcoming.2) breakfast was not great3) no security, anyone can walk in and out from paying beach into the hotel4) ask for a reasonable upgrade was told the hotel is full when it is almost 70% empty (at night it’s very creepy to walk when so many rooms are empty)5) when we paid for an upgrade the room view was terrible. Gave us the 4th floor with private pool and at night there’s were a 3-4 rooms lighted out of about 50 rooms. Really creepy.6) the only thing that is good, they have 3 nice pools but again it closed at 8pm and no towel services after 7pm. Bring your own towel after 7pm.7) sincerely felt Management needs to start doing something about the overall experience.8) Spa was good but the overall experience, the ambience is not that great.

Excellent choice

The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a bit dated and mouldy. The cooked breakfast needs to improve, especially the bacon! Overall good value for money. The new swim up bar was lovely.
