The food was expensive...

Our first experience in a 5 star hotel and it was fantastic. We just feel that the hydration pool, sauna and steam room should have been included in the price...instead of an extra cost.

Liked big room, comfy big bed, separate bath, good breakfast.
Disliked xmas music in lobby and breakfast room on 22Nov.

Relaxing one night stay, very good

This gorgeous hotel is every bit a 5-star experience. The staff from all over the world is VERY friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The food at the restaurants is delicious and very well priced.
The cocktails at the bar are all top shelf... ask for an Old Fashioned and watch how the lead barman concocts an Old Fashioned for the ages.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Lyrath Estate Hotel, it made our trip perfect.

Lovely stay - big, comfy, very clean room with great wardrobe and bathroom space. Lovely surroundings, very quiet and peaceful - excellent grounds and walks and only a hop from Kilkenny city. Very helpful and friendly staff. All round highly recommended.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The grounds were relaxing and welcoming. We really enjoyed the opportunity to walk the trails around the grounds. It felt like we had escaped the crowds and got to explore. We would highly recommend this location. Best place to stay in Ireland

Pros:
Beautiful surroundings and wonderful walkways around the hotel.
Convenient for Kilkenny City.
Lovely professional staff.
Unique atrium experience.
Delicious food.
This was our third stay and there are really good reasons why we keep coming back!
Cons
Only one gripe - the suite we stayed in was smaller than other similar hotels, and didn’t make the best use of space (the bedroom and bathroom were almost the same size - bathroom arguably too big, bedroom too small).
For a 5 star I’d expect a stocked minibar; but this seems to be less and less the norm so not really an issue and in any case the ambiance in the many places to have food or a drink renders it moot.

We cannot wait to come back to Lyrath Estate! The grounds around the hotel are absolutely breathtaking and the facilities themselves are gorgeous inside and out. Our room was massive and comfortable. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. We felt so at home here and it was an incredible stay.

Great hotel 5 minutes from Kilkenny, selection of restaurants is a real plus, lovely walks on the grounds and super spa treatments. Definitely worth getting breakfast in the room

We had a lovely relaxing stay. We did point out the TV in the room was freezing!!
Breakfast was excellent self service. Plenty of choice. The estate had wonderful walks.
My facial was so much more than a facial and i was allowed to use the thermal suite the day after. Might be no harm to point out the €25 charge for thermal suite for residents. I felt this should be included in your stay. Overall a wonderful break we would go back

Lovely property. Very loud in entrance with music two nights in a row.

Beautiful estate and hotel, very modern and upscale, one of the few places we stayed in 14 days in Ireland that had Air Conditioning (AC is not a thing in Ireland). Wonderful breakfast buffett. Great activities on the estate like the Hawk Walk at the Hawkery.

We enjoyed a lovely two night stay in the hotel, with friendly staff providing great service. Food in the grill bar was excellent. We used the pool facilities on the second day prior to our departure and were disappointed in the cleanliness of the ladies changing rooms, with no toilet roll, and only hair conditioner in the shower area.
We were able to avail of several seating areas which were ideal for reading our books and newspapers. We would recommend staying at the hotel and look forward to a return trip !

2nd time staying here, last visit was 2006. It was our 25th wedding anniversary getaway for 1 night. Check in was nice, but we waited over 15mins to get a couple of drinks served in the bar, not so good. I understand staffing levels may not be as usual during the covid era but I would expect more attentive bar staff as we were told to sit and wait for table service. Bar staff should be actively looking to help given that patrons are unable to move around; this was a bit lacking here. I had to get up to order a 2nd drink.
Room: excellent except for a TV remote control which was so worn we couldn't read the buttons and it was missing a back cover. The remote was placed inside a plastic bag so room staff knew exactly what they were doing. That remote should have been binned a long time before we used it. Head of housekeeping please note. We had room 333.
Cleanliness and comfort in the room was excellent, lovely facilities, bed and bathroom great and air conditioning was easy to operate.
Hotel cleanliness and comfort was also top notch. Grill bar restaurant was very nice with tasty main courses.
Breakfast had a more limited buffet as a result of restrictions, but was more than offset by lovely table platters full of yogurts, pastries and breads. The hot food was very good quality. Tip: perhaps put some food cards in front of the closed buffet trays to identify them to guests.
Overall, lovely stay, great to be back in a lovely hotel, but some grounds for improvement.

A huge issue with Irish hotels in winter time. When you walk in to the lobby, a lot can be cold. Lyrath was lovely and warm, even with the huge atrium they have. Not skimping on heat - a big thumbs up! Also, lady on reception remembered my name the day after (without looking at a computer). A big thing for any guest. Susan in the bar was so friendly and helpful. Great stay.
