Hotel has the caliber and perfect location but it is a rundown with makeshifts things done in the room, older furniture, older overall outlook. It was definitely not worth the price paid almost $300 per night. Breakfast restaurant was super hot and humid. Breakfast buffet table lacked cleanliness. Pool and shower and beach access is good. I would not recommend friends or stay again there.

The property is literally at the gate to Manuel Antonio Park. Couldn't be closer to the entrance.

Very convenient to the Manuel Antonio park entrance. The hotel is dated and the furniture is quite old, but everything worked fine, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The walk to the beach is a bit sketchy but it's very short and easy. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Food was good at the restaurant also

The hotel staff acted like we were bothering them by being there. We were one of few families and it was a continuous fight to get service.

The hotel is a great location, it is very close to the national park and the beach. Unfortunately though the hotel itself is in need of serious maintenance and renovations.

San Bada is a great location for the National Park, beach, and a few restaurants. Breakfast was good. Rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately the view towards the ocean from all rooms, is looking at a group of run down buildings. Very disappointed that our view was of the rundown buildings with a small glimpse of the ocean.

Very nice resort and the area was perfect. 5 minute walk to the beach and the hotel is also right next to National Park. Very friendly staff and quick service. Would definitely go again.

San Bada hotel was the worst experience my family have ever had with hotels. We have reserved and paid in advanced two rooms for 3 nights for my family vacation and were charged $335 per room per night. We have expected a reasonable hotel for this price but we were EXTREMLY disappointed. We have found a run down old hotel. The rooms smell terrible and are full of bugs. The sheets are not clean and the pillows are smelly. The staff are tired and really do not care. After the first night we went for breakfast and found the place dirty and full of flies. We really could not eat there. We approached the manager and explained our huge disappointment of the hotel. We asked to leave and asked for refunds for the two nights left (that we have paid in advance). The manager was rude and refused to refund anything. To save our family vacation, we had to make new reservation in another hotel and left San Bada hotel. It left us with a terrible taste for our vacation. The San Bada hotel charges high price for very poor return. The exuberant price for this terrible hotel, in my opinion is NOT justified.

Stayed hear 1 night. Steps from the park. Was not very full so that was nice. Not sure what the experience would be like if the property were full. AC worked well. Pools and bars were nice. Breakfast was very good and included. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Luis, our tour guide for the park, was excellent. I would highly recommend a guide. They are able to find the animals much easier and they use your phone with their spotting scopes to get excellent pictures. It was $51 USD per person but that does include your admission to the park. Pura Vida!

We loved our stay at the San Bada! It’s a great location directly next to Manuel Antonio park. Very convenient walking distance to the beach and a few restaurants. The staff was very helpful, even tracking us down in the hotel restaurant after we checked out and left something in our room. The rooms were clean and we saw lots of wild life, especially monkeys right outside our door several times!

The property is located right outside the entrance to Manuel Antonio. We ate at the sushi restaurant which was good and had a great view. It was raining out and the sound of the rain on the roof of the restaurant was wonderful. We also had some wildlife come in while we were dining, which of course was one of the advantages to being right next to the park. Our room was comfortable and I slept amazing in the bed. We did walk down to the beach, it’s only about 6-7 minutes up a trail. I will be back!

This property is literally next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park and a two or three minute walk to the beach. The restaurant at the top of the hotel has a spectacular view of the beach and bay.

Our balcony was up against trees where monkeys flew around. The on site restaurant came in handy during the thunderstorm. Rooms are lovely with high ceilings. Location is right up against National Park, the small street has many shops, restaurants, vendors. Beach access is nearby as well.

Francisco and Gerardo at the front desk were very helpful.

Hotel San Bada was incredible!! Location is the best for Manuel Antonio. The staff was awesome. Always did everything that they could to answer questions, make suggestions, make me feel relaxed, and take care immediately of any concerns we had during our stay! Housekeepers do an amazing job making sure everything is clean and disinfected! We loved our stay there!!

This place was incredible! You are literally staying inside Manuel Antonio National Park. And the beach is 5 minutes away.
They did everything possible to accommodate me. Thank you again!

Location was great - right next to the National park but it is showing it’s age. I got bitten by a wasp (incredibly painful). There was a hive right outside our door and no one seemed to care. I also could not adjust the temp of the AC - it seemed fixed. Sweated all night. Plumbing was a bit wired as well. Switching on the wash basin tap seemed to cause dripping in the shower every time. Very strange.

I reported some loose towel rack and faucet which they response right away to fix the issue. I would stay there again since it is next to national park and the beach.

Loved the location right next door to Manuel Antonio National Park with a shortcut to beach. A leisurely 10 minute walk along the street to purchase from vendors, get to restaurants, beach and activities.

Beds were comfortable, hotel is well maintained for an older property. However water in shower was cold for 3 days in a row, never had a hot shower which was awful.

It was right by National Park. A little bit noisy at times especially the music from the swim up bar four parties in the upstairs dining room. Some problems with septic system odors near he building well as on the walk between the hotel and the beach

Perfect location, good value and rooftop restaurant is very good. Try the grilled tuna salad. hotel needs some minor updates and upkeep. Rooms are updated and very clean with high ceilings.

I liked my stay at San Bada. Great location by the beach. Junior staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious. Having said that the Manager on duty and mid managers sitting at the reception are focused more on billing you rather than helping customers and running the place efficiently. The hotel clearly understaffed. Some of the cleaning happened really late in the day. I was leaving at 4am and senior manager offered no help despite me asking. I was saved by the guard who kindly called the driver in the night and they safely brought me to my stop. I perhaps won’t stay again. Management of the place should be addressed and improved.

Rude not friendly service, the problem with air conditioning, door locker, not working safe. They promise to drive me to the beach by buggy because I can't walk... In the next few days, whet can't find the driver... breakfast terrible for this price... I’m strongly do not recommend this joke hotel. Terrible experience.

Great location with short path to the beach and next door to park. Spacious rooms. Rest is disappointing. You have to chaise for cleaning and if lucky your room would perhaps be cleaned by 4-5pm or won’t be at all unless you ask specifically. Room service plates don’t get collected by staff and in the morning floor is a mess due to animals picking it up. In sushi restaurant we waited for the order for 1 hour before it arrived. On top of this I was recommended the hotel and naively checked in directly. I ended up been overcharged for three nights with $260 daily days vs the $160 on hotels.com. I realised that only later and started to book online. I challenged them but they could not care less as they don’t state rates on their site so charge whichever they want. Shame on the management really. They should know better. It’s ok to pay a bit more but not so much more. So make your conclusions and don’t deal with them directly.
