The room I stayed at was well kept. Carpet and sink were abit dirty but not bothersome. The location was very convinient and easy walking distance to the shops

What a delightful hotel. A beautiful old pub but with modern facilities and good shared bathrooms. Continental breakfast was provided at a well appointed shared kitchen. The room was a very comfortable although there was some traffic noise from the street below.

Recently renovated. Photos on Wotif are out of date. Nick, who attended to me, was very friendly and helpful.

Good service and facility.

Staff were great. Access was easy. Bar offers no after hours food for patrons and guests. Room stunk like urine. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and hurt my back. Fire alarm went off at 2.30am causing evacuations twice early hours forcing guests to leave. It was unfortunate this happened but it didnt help the situation.

Accommodation is pub style above the bar and band area. Noise from below reverberates up to rooms. Probably fine on a weekday but was impossible to sleep until the band stopped on a Friday night. We booked and paid extra for a room that had a private bathroom, only to find the bathroom was just a bathroom sink. The toilets and showers were still shared with other rooms. Luckily there was only one or two other guests so it was almost like a private bathroom, but misrepresenting in the ad. Lighting on the corridors was poor and we couldn't find the light switch. Another guest found a lamp that she turned on. The ceiling lights not working is dangerous in an emergency and the lamp isn't obvious. I also managed to lock myself in the shower. The men's shower door locks but does not unlock. So I had to brute force the door open. Lucky I was not a kid or an old-timer as they would have been in trouble. That's also dangerous. However, staff were nice and accommodating. And the facilities were relatively clean. And it was cheap. And breakfast was provided ( bread, cereal, juice, tea, coffee) so no complaints there.

Extremely happy with my 12 nights stay. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. In house restaurant served fantastic food at good prices. Was a great place to have as a base for going around the region. Highly recommend 5 stars

I liked the old fashion hospitality and the decor with its lead light window. The dining room offered tasty and reasonably priced meals. The rooms were adequate, but being an old building the walls were thin and sounds travelled.

My stay was very enjoyable except for the poeple walking in the corridor in the middle of the night that woke me up.

Lovely rooms & very clean amenities

Clean rooms with good access to central Maitland shops and restaurants. The staff are delightful and the bistro food is tasty and well portioned.

Clean, neat & tidy, short walk from railway station - Great cafes All around - Lovly quiet walk along the river @ the back - Plenty of free parking - Teriffic for an overnight stay

Shared facilities were modern and very clean. Shared kitchen with food and drinks available for guests. Room was everything we needed for the night. Very happy, many thanks.

Good quality pub accommodation

Place was clean. Shared bathroom was new. Shared kitchen functional. Unfortunately it wasn't advertised Karaoke and band went till 2.30am. It was so loud my whole room shook with the bass and noise till then. I wont return.

Good location, staff are super nice, room is basic but great value, it’s above a pub with a noisy crowd /band so on Saturday night don’t expect to get to sleep before 1am.

Always fun to stay in a hotel that has it's own character rather than a chain motel.

This is an old pub hotel with lots of period charm. There is actually no breakfast even the booking shows it. Bedding was suprizingly very good quality and high cleanliness. Great cheap accom on main street Maitland,

Nice and clean

Room and facilties clean. I'd stay again. Confusion though on checkin. The cheapest room description said "shared bathroom" but my slightly more expensive room didn't have the same description. Turns out they are all shared bathroom. My room came with a sink, that was the difference.
