This is a comfortable motel-hotel that offers rooms with a view and a nice restaurant (a bit overpriced, but with a good menu). It is also pet-friendly, a rare occurrence in Quebec. It is situated on the shore, but near an industrial area of Matane, so wilderness is not to be expected. The staff is ultra-nice and friendly (as most people in Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie), a big plus that helps forgive the outdated decor. This place needs a good facelift! I recommend warmly.

We only stayed one night and arrived late so my assessment is based on a very short visit. The main building seems to be nicely located on the beach but we were in the motels rooms across the street- which was perfectly fine. The rooms are large and clean, the linens were fresh and beds although firm were comfortable. The bathroom had been recently renovated but the carpet was stained and ugly. The curtains perfectly blocked out the light which is a bonus for me.

No air conditioning. Our "garden view" was the lobby roof top. The room and beds were comfortable and good for an overnight stay.

This is a charming family-run facility. My family has stayed here for 60 years on annual trips to our family cottage. The property has thrived under successive generational operators. It is clean, consistent and the dining is exceptional!

We stopped for the night on our trip. As we were arriving late (after 8pm), we called and left a message. Since they did not respond, we called again about an hour later, to which they answered (they speak English) and informed us that there is someone all night at reception, so there is no problem.
We could not try the restaurant for dinner, as it closed at 9pm. We did not try the breakfast, which was an extra cost.
The room was clean. We could not use the beach due to the weather, so we left early.

The hotel itself is gorgeous I think I just had an unfortunate experience with the room I was in. The beds were like sleeping on a rock so unless you like really firm mattress’s, don’t go here also I had an issue with the plumbing. It alternated between freezing and scalding as I tried to shower which was very unpleasant. Maybe it was and issue with the building I was in(not the main property but the outbuilding)

We had a room on the bottom floor this time, and it was very enjoyable period we have stayed on a higher floor previously, and the stairs were not great.
It would be totally amazing if they would get some air conditioning.

Very noisy the first night. Party going on all night. Loud music, shouting and banging.

This place is very nice, I would have given 5 stars but the restaurant with the hotel/motel was closed and as such we had to eat from fast food place that we had to walk to. This is becoming quite common with shortage of staff. Usually the restaurant here is great and fine dining.

The staff was outstanding in friendliness and helpfullness. All were bilingual. The breakfast service and beautiful buffet gave us a good start to the day. We enjoyed our water view and watching the ferry come in to the nearby terminal. It was nice to have a separate living room with two comfortable chairs and tv. Rustic hotel but clean. Stayed on June 13, 2023.

A beautiful hotel on the water in Matane.....beach at our doorstep. Very well maintained and has an "old world" charm.
The breakfast is continental and very complete. It is served in the main dining room of the hotel which faces the water. The staff were exceptionally pleasant. We will return.

It was a quick stay but great. Clean place! Would recommend!

We were there just for 1 day because we were just passing through. Unfortunately the bed was quiet hard. It's a personal opinion. We stayed in the main building. Enjoyed brunch in the hotel over-looking the St Lawrence River.
